The way you two reacted when you thought the boy was shot just shows how empathetic and caring you are, even knowing it was a movie. It was very touching. Ypu two are good souls.
Reading this comment made me laugh so hard for some reason@@DannyCosmos I think it is because I read it in the voice of a medieval knight "the lady doth protest too much!" 🤣
The kidnapper is Donny Wahlberg, and you know him too. He played Sgt. Carwood Lipton. He's the sergeant who takes care of the 181st when Foxhole Norman Dike gets them trapped and killed. Lt. Speir takes over and tells Lipton that he's the man who's kept everyone safe and a!ive. He's been their leader. It was one of your favorite episodes.
Yeah, that part is from an old Glen Ford movie called ..... "Ransom!" (1956) That speech to the TV stations was actually the only similar part to the old movie. This is a completely different movie except that "I won't pay" broadcast.
originally a 1954 tv drama, then the 56 film both written by Cyril Hume and Richard Maibaum 5:23 ( Maibaum was the most prolific Bond screenwriter, working on 13 films between 1962 and 89 )
She didn't "lose it". I admire her for having the courage to unabashedly share her emotions with the world. That takes some big balls and I love her even more because of it!
The part I love the most is where Tom says to Jimmy: "I would have paid ten times as much if I had any sense that they would actually stick to the deal." Jimmy's reaction is great because he basically has to concede that Tom was one hundred percent correct and he accurately assessed the situation. Jimmy was going to kill the kid and by taking the course he did, Tom saved his life. For all his talk of privilege, Jimmy got genuinely outplayed.
He's been cast in some of the biggest movies of all time. How is he "underrated?" I swear there's a comment about a super-famous and successful actor being "underrated" under every movie reaction.
@@theveryworstluck1894 If there was a Top 100 of greatest actors, i can almost guarantee he wouldn't feature... my comment wasn't to disregard his many successes, just stating that this great actor doesn't seem to get the full recognition he deserves.
Yes he is. But this disturbs me a little, i'm not used to see him as a "bad guy"... I freaking love "Mac Taylor", but he played an awesome bad guy in this
5:30 that's Gary Sinise... He's most famous for playing "Lieutenant Dan" in the movie Forrest Gump. He also played an astronaut in the true story of Apollo 13.
Knowing you're a mother, I know this must've been a hard watch for you guys. My mom saw this in theaters and said to me, "The inhumane things I would do to a person if I knew they could harm you and I couldn't protect you. That's between me and God, and I'll stand behind it before him." The depths of Hell a parent will go through for their child is unimaginable.
Yes! The Thomas Crown Affair and Tin Cup are my favorite Rene Russo movies! But as Cassie said, she was in several of the Lethal Weapon movies and was fantastic in those too!
Haven't watched this movie in years; forgot how much of a gut wrenching powerhouse of a film it is. Acting used to be, well, acting. Thank you both for the reaction.
I remember watching this movie so long ago, before I was a dad. I thought it was pretty intense back then, I can't imagine what it would be like once you are a parent. I felt so bad for you guys, there were points when you looked emotionally gutted. Good reaction !
I am a Daughter Dad of two young women. That scenario played in my head. I taught them situational awareness and to look for an exit. Luckily, cars now are equipped with the trunk latches in the trunk. I taught them how to shoot and to use basic escape techniques, wrist locks, and joint manipulation. Also, to look for anything that can be used as a weapon. The trick is to move forward and not to trap yourself in a corner. Pray to God to help you get out of that situation. I was in the Marine Corps from 03 to 07. I was in the infantry and saw combat. I am more fearful for them than myself. This movie shows how man's hearts are corrupt. Greed isn't just a rich person's vice. It happens to everybody. Someone will always want what someone has, or someone will be corrupt to pay someone off to offset the consequences. This movie shows greed on both sides, but you feel for someone that loses their child because children are more precious than money. I am no rich man, but my girls, to me, are more precious than gold on earth. They're truly a gift from God. They also realize that they should bring potential males to me because the ones that were scared of me will suddenly leave and not come back. I never threatened them either. I said well you learned something, daughter. You learned that a guy will try to charm himself to get to you, but when he sees a threat to his existence, he will leave. Guys like that only want to use you. A guy that wants you will stick around and face me. I may not like him, but he has balls to face me anyways. He deserves that little shred of respect. I would rather respect him more than like him. I have been in a boy's shoes, and I always had to face a dad or family member.
7 days later: 29:00 - The most emotional, gripping reaction ever by a movie reactor on the Internet. Cassie and Carly, this is the best you ever did... PERIOD. The best. No other movie you did will outdo this.. none. This part of the movie was a perfect catalyst to evoking you to react the way you did. Best reaction ever.
Yea, this movie all day. You don't see anything like this anymore. The kid who played Sean Mullen is Nick Nolte's son. Not sure if you know him but he was one of the most famous actors in Hollywood throughout the 80's and 90's. Lots of great movies. For future reactions, I recommend 48 Hours, Cape Fear and The Prince of Tides. He was outstanding in those.
Carly, I agree 1000% with what you said before the movie. Real life has enough disappointing endings. When I watch movies (aka make believe/fantasy) I’m gonna need some happy endings!
Would it help to know that a father shooting dead the kidnapper of his son in full view of the police and getting away with it is a thing that has happened in real life? Look up Gary Plauche.
Not to sound like a broken record, your reactions to this were awesome. You two are the best by far. Then the acting by everyone in this was 1st rate, the boy was so amazing it was real coming from him. I wonder how he did making these intense traumatizing scenes and after. This wiped me out, no church here today we are having a snow storm so I was watching your reactions and relaxing until this one, lol..
Also great actors in this movie are: Gary Sinise and Donnie Wahlberg. Gary you know and loved in Apollo 13, and in real life devotes so much of himself to philanthropy for veterans in need. Donnie Wahlberg played the beloved Carwood Lipton in Band of Brothers.
@@ChadSimpson-ft7yz By the end, yes. But his death wish at the beginning showed he didn't feel like he had much to offer the world or the people in it other than killing and being killed. He had some work left to do.
@@ct6852 He saw it as a family tradition mixed with his serious wounds. Wouldn't exactly call it a death wish as the thought of life without 2 legs is obviously no small matter.
Hi ladies. That was Donnie Wahlberg, Mark's older brother. He was one of the original members of New Kids on the Block. He also is one of the stars of the TV show Blue Bloods with Tom Selleck. The bad guy was Gary Sinise who played Lt Dan in Forrest Gump. Renee Russo was in Line of Fire with Clint Eastwood, Thor????, she was aalso in Tin Cup with Kevin Costner (you two might like that one. Don't know if you are familiar with actor Nick Nolte but the kid who played Mel's son is Nick's son. Another Mel Gibson movie I think worth watching (Mel's acting in it is really good) it is called Conspiracy Theory and co-stars Julia Roberts.
If you want to see the absolute brilliance of Mel Gibson's skill as a director, you should react to his movie Apocalypto - best viewed in the original language with English subtitles. It is a movie like no other, and will leave you awestruck.
A terrible movie hated by historians makes no sense whatsoever if you know even an ounce of the history the film "attempts" to portray. It may be well shot I suppose with good effects and camera work but that's it
@@afriendlycadian9857 - Eh, a lot of movies that take place in a distant enough time undo history, even when they are portraying it (ie Braveheart). In the end, a good story is a good story. If you don't like the historical accuracy, chalk it up to an alternate universe/timeline and enjoy the story as it's told, especially if the history is a setpiece like Apocalypto and not the basis like Braveheart.
@@Orangeflava I have only seen the theatrical cut. The director's cut is rated slightly higher on imdb, but I can only vouch for and recommend the theatrical cut.
YES - the nice kidnapper is Mark Wahlburg's brother, Donnie. Donnie was in the first 15 minutes of the Sixth Sense AND he was a New Kid on the Block in the 80s (my age's boy band). I think the best acting of Mel's was in Signs - well, ONE of his best performances haha I used to think he was just an action star or funny (he did both, as I was growing up) but, now that I'm an adult, I'm discovering just how amazing Mel is! OH - and have you seen Daddy's Home 2? It's set at Christmas time, so you could add that to your list for next December. But, Mel plays Mark Wahlburg's dad and Will Ferrell is the other lead. I don't think you NEED to see the 1st movie to get this one - and I don't think it's particularly good, either.
You two are so adorable. I love it when you get so emotional. Invested in the movie and characters. Thank you for watching this and providing us with an excellent reaction.
*Cassie: "I would press in the bullet wound!!!"* - Parental instincts overcome fear every time. Im deathly afraid of certain insects (NOT moths). I once cracked two ribs cuz I ran right off my front porch cuz I thought a baby tree frog the size of a quarter was a spider that had jumped on my face. A week later Im calmly brushing bees off my daughter's pants while getting stung repeatedly. She forgot the bee part of course, but she's made a birthday card for me for 11 straight years with a frog on it. 🐸 EDIT: I'm laying on the ground struggling to breathe, and my just turned 3 daughter is petting the frog and berating me for "scaring froggy." GOOD TIMES
Great reaction again, guys! Sorry these take so much out of you, but it is endearing to us because you're such good people. Never change! On the familiar faces front, you saw the bad cop, Gary Sinise, about a year ago in Apollo 13, playing Ken Mattingly, who did not get the measles. You saw the sorta good kidnapper, Donnie Wahlberg, the year before as the emaciated Vincent, in the opening moments of The Sixth Sense, in his underwear with a gun.
Gary Sinise was also Lieutenant Dan in "Forest Gump", a role that changed his life, and Stu Redman in the original "The Stand" among others like "Truman" and "The Green Mile". Fantastic actor and human being. I didn't recognize Donnie in "The Sixth Sense", thanks.
The scene where he cries in the balcony after he belives his son just died because of him is heartbreaking, always makes me emotional, and when the wife realises in how much pain he is and that all he did was really to try to save their son and goes comfort him, oh man, so good!!!!!!
Cassie blowing on her hands to dry the sweat off was the highlight of my week. LOL As soon as I saw the title of this one I was like, "Oh crap!" because I knew this would be super intense for you guys. Also, I miss Gary Sinise big time in movies.
I don't know if I'm saddened, or proud of Carly here. This is the FIRST time (at least that I've noticed), whereas she DIDN'T hide her eyes during the violence at the climax of the film. She was INTO it!!! She's becoming a seasoned pro at this now...😀😀😀
I think this is Ron Howard's best movie. It is so intense and emotional and really shows the love that a parent has for their child because Tom was willing to risk everything he had to get his son back including going to jail or dying to save him. Mel Gibson's performance in this movie is excellent.
I honestly forgot how many great actors were in this. Donnie Wahlberg is amazing in Band of Brothers. I've never seen Liev Schrieber do a bad job in anything he's in. Gary Sinise and Mel Gibson go without saying. This is such a stressful movie to watch. I haven't seen it in years.
Love Donny Walberg. He was amazing in Band of Brothers. And Gary has done so much for the troops. The Lt. Dan Band is my favorite musical act of all time.
Ron Howard’s underrated classic. Sadly inspired on an experience his own family endured… FUN FACT: Gary Sinise once approached Director Ron Howard, alongside co-star Mel Gibson, to ask his opinion on how to BEST handle a difficult scene and halfway into his question stopped and said “Wait…why am I asking you?” And turned and asked the question to Gibson instead….(Mel Gibson had just won BEST DIRECTOR for BRAVEHEART beating out Ron Howard’s APOLLO 11)…..😅😅😅😅😅
Donny Wahlberg is the guy in the plaid shirt was also one of the New Kids On the Block. Oh, and he was the guy who shot Bruce Willis in the”The Sixth Sense.”
One of Mel Gibson's greatest scenes is when he hears the gunshot, and knows Sean must be dead. Ransom is a lesson to never allow the villain to control his crime location. Delroy, Renee, Gary. Those 90s movies had acting talent. Great reactions ladies! I had fun.😃
"I recognize everyone but can't place them..." Jackie Brown is played by Dan Hedaya, whom you likely know as the father in Clueless 😉 Check him out as Nixon in Dick, with Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams.
At the time this movie was filming, a family member was the Personal Assistant to Rene Russo. During that summer, my son got to spend his vacay @ Rene's house. When he left to go back to College she gave him a Photo that was a prop during the movie. He placed it on his study desk in his dorm room and anyone that saw it was stopped in their tracks. It was a 8x10 framed photo of Rene signed "To Sean, Love Mom" in the movie, Rene's son was named Sean Mullen, my stepson's name...Sean Mullen.!
Somebody may have already commented on this, that this movie is a 'Remake' from 1956, "Ransom!" staring Glenn Ford. In that movie however, the father is NOT guilty of any crimes prior to the kidnapping of his son. I won't give any more away, just in case you want to watch that excellent B&W movie.
OMG, CASSIE!!!! I had to stop!! You can't do that to me!!! At 29:36-30:00, you gave us the most endearing and heartwrenching reaction to a movie that I've ever seen on RUclips!!! I've seen Ransom a dozen times over the years, but seeing it through your eyes was like seeing it for the first time!! Now, I need to put my heart back in my chest and finish watching. Love you P.I.B ladies!! 😭💖
I disagree. A good movie should give you whatever you expect from it. A great movie should do the same, and also provide even more than you were expecting. All of this can be done without emotion being involved. I didn't watch Bill and Ted expecting to be emotionally pushed to my limits. I didn't watch Monty Python [anything] expecting to be emotionally pushed to my limits. I didn't watch [Die Hard movies] expecting to be emotionally pushed to my limits. But all of these were clearly good (and in some cases great) movies. I don't think the corollary might be true, either. "Any movie that makes you emotional is good." No. That just simply doesn't work. And there are plenty of bleak examples that demonstrate this. I'm not embarrassed about getting emotional when I feel it; but your statement simply makes no sense. A good movie should do whatever it is that is needed to fulfil your needs as a someone watching that movie. Sometimes it also offers more, like a message or life guidance. But essentially by deciding to watch a movie you are saying; "give me what I want."
What a ride! One of my fave Mel movies (so many to choose from). Gary Sinise and Rene Russo were fantastic in this (you two would LOVE her in The Thomas Crown Affair) Ron Howard and Sinise had teamed up before Ransom on a little flick called Apollo 13.
You ladies probably won't see this, but I was reminded of a good movie from around the same time you guys should watch: "The Salton Sea" with Val Kilmer and Peter Sarsgaard. One of my favorite movies from my college days and a great acting performance from Val.
"Ransom" was originally a movie from the 50s starring Glenn Ford and a young Leslie Nielsen long before "Airplane!" or "Naked Gun". Both movies are terrific in their own way.
I saw the Glenn Ford and Donna Reed version (1956) when I was a kid. Long before a script was a twinkle in anyone's eyes for this remake. I honestly have to say the original was better by 'not' having a crime-tainted father.
@PE4Doers I agree, it feels really unnecessary. Doesn't hurt this one's overall quality though. It was also done in the remake of "Taking of Pelham 123" with Denzel's character revealed to have taken a bribe - one of the biggest changes from the original and a really stupid one. One of so many reasons that version sucked.
The monologue in front of the news cameras is so damn good, the maniac intensity of Mel Gibson being just like any real father would have, the acting out of the norm for Gary Sinise as a bad guy, all of this is so amazing! Thank you for your reactions, I love watching you two!
"I will never forgive any of you for making me watch this movie if he jumps..." Cassie, you and Carly are priceless. The movie was excellent but I had an even better time watching you two react to it. At the same time I felt really badly for you both because I could feel your turmoil. I have never seen two more genuine people in my life. That's what makes you who you are. Don't ever change.
Back 1996 I watched that in the cinemas and I think it was one of my first Mel Gibson movies. After that I started watching all of the other ones --> Lethal Weapon Series ...Braveheart and was exicted for every new one that came out :-) - Frak I'm getting old ... And by the way the Final Scene on the Street within the traffic is one of the best Action Scene ever seen --> Sound, Score and Acting are working so well together. Unbelievable that James Horner was able to added the "Doppler Effect" of the Car horns to the Score ^-^. Also a very good action on all the main characters. WOW WOW WOW
Donnie Wahlburg is the first “Famous” actor or singer in the family, he was one of the main kids in New Kids on the Block. He is a very good actor as well, Band of Brothers, The 6th Sense and the TV show Blue Bloods. Plus, he is a really nice guy as well.
Thank you for your reaction! You two are so invested in the characters, I couldn't help but be in stitches the whole time... this is one of the funniest and most wholesome reactions I've seen. Thank you again.
It's good to see the praise this film has, and the reactions it gets, even when it flies out of the radar a lot. I have my theory why this is not that well remembered, though, and your reactions in the video confirm it: it's not a bad film, but an intense film some suffer due to the very good acting. For those who don't get connected to the story, it flies over their heads; and for those who get connected, they want to rip Gary Sinise to pieces and don't want to relieve the experience soon XD. And so, the film stays in this limbo where only those who want to face the roller coaster one more time check it again. Fun personal story: my parents got to see several films on TV rather on cinemas, due to schedules, prices, not very engaging publicity, etc. This meant they were exposed to the roles of several actors out of order and the very first time they saw Gary Sinise was in Ransom. And they hated him with passion, so much so, for several years they refused to watch films if they knew Sinise had a big part in the project XD. It wouldn't be until they saw Forrest Gump and Apollo 13 several times they could make peace with the presence of the actor in the screen (eventually, Ransom stopped being scheduled on TV and that helped; because at one point it was the only film with him in the local programming). The side effects of being a good actor and making a superb villain, I guess. Nice reaction, and see you in the next one.
When you provide a well written script and put a strong cast around Mel Gibson, a great film emerges. He won’t let you down. The intensity during the back and forth between him and Sinise over the phone was movie magic!
29:21 This is EXACTLY how I expected you to react, Cassie because of your huge heart. You had ME in tears and I already knew the ending of this movie. Thank you so much for being who you are. This world NEEDS people like you and Carly. THAT is why I will continue watching your reactions.
Your reaction to this film speaks volumes about your maternal instincts-I've never seen either of you react so intensively in any of your prior videos. Those scenes with Sean are difficult to watch, Ron Howard and the cast did an incredible job in creating so much tension and in engrossing the viewer.
Gary Sinise is an amazing person. He has been a shining light for a longtime. Look up his organization and see the reason why he has not been in anything for awhile. One of the few good celebs that uses their name for good.
5:37 that’s Lt Dan from Forrest Gump, George from Of Mice And Men, Ken from Apollo 13, and The Sheriff (Sharon Stone’s character’s father) from The Quick and The Dead.
I know the feeling. I was on my seat the whole time. I saw this movie a long time ago but forgot how it went. I like these kind of movies, feels like a roller coaster ride and I love roller coasters.
Nothing like a Mel Gibson movie to bring the intense emotions out of Cassie and Carly. Between the Patriot, Braveheart, We Were Soldiers and now Ransom his movies have given us some of their best reactions.
Cassie, Cassie, Cassie: of course you know Donnie Wahlberg as Lipton from Band of Brothers!! He was also a founding member of New Kids on the Block (tho that was before your time). And Gary Sinise you know well from Forrest Gump and Apollo 13.
Donnie Wahlberg was in "Band of Brothers" as First Sergeant Lipton Gary Sinise was in "Forest Gump" as Lieutenant Dan - edit -> and in "Apollo 13" as the astronaut who does not get the measles. Liev Schreiber was in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" as Victor Creed
I have never seen Cassie that intense during a reaction before, but then I remembered she a a mom herself. Not easy seeing her cry like that, but damn what a great reaction! Glad you guys are oke, lol!
Ransom was a great homemade film. Delroy lindo also plays an FBI agent and an excellent series called kidnapped. Only lasted one season but it definitely had me on the edge of my seat with all the twists and turns. Definitely deserves a watch
Mel Gibson films: Conspiracy Theory, Man Without A Face, Payback. Also, Cassie should do a rewatch of the Lethal Weapon series with Carly. Carly likes the Die Hard films and Mel Gibson; it's a perfect match. ETA: Carly would probably know Rene Russo as Thor's mother in the MCU films.
I would love to be a guest on an episode just to answer questions about actors.."yes that's Donnie Wahlberg who was also in NKOTB, and that's Dan Hedaya who was in Clueless and The Addams Family"
Yup, though John Williams’s and Alan Silvestri’s 70s and 80s scores kinda ruled the scene for a time, the 90s were very much James Horner (though Willow, Field of Dreams, and Glory were late 80s) with The Rocketeer, Apollo 13, Braveheart, Legends of the Fall, and Titanic. Soundtracks you could whistle. Sadly, film scores don’t seem to be as memorable anymore. Passable, many, but nothing you can whistle that people will recognize, like Star Wars or Back to the Future or Superman.
This is Ron Howard's most underrated film. The tone, the writing, and the performances are OSCAR worthy. The suspense is going to keep you on the edge of your seat, and Mel Gibson and Gary Sinise are meeting when you really get into it. Gary Sinise, bless his heart, and he has some of the most convincing eyes in Cinema history, and it shows here.

Give me back my son!!!
Get a grip, sheesh.
it's funny how everyone on earth knew exactly what he was thinking when he swung open those patio doors. brilliant.
Well said. ‘Prisoners’ and ‘Sound of Freedom’ are the closest things to ‘Ransom’ that have come out in recent memory.
I don't know if they'd handle that version of Cape Fear
Yes Donny Walberg is Mark's brother. He is also plays tom Selleck s son Danny Reagan in the TV show Blue Bloods. Also he was a NewKids on the Block
Cassie, you and Carly have a beautiful heart & soul. Thank you for sharing them.❤
Carly, I agree 1000% with what you said before the movie.
The son is actor nick noltes son
Also great actors in this movie are: Gary Sinise and Donnie Wahlberg. Gary you know and loved in Apollo 13, and in real life devotes so much of himself to philanthropy for veterans in need. Donnie Wahlberg played the beloved Carwood Lipton in Band of Brothers.
And for the past 13 years, one of the leads of Blue Bloods.
Only saw this once on VHS rental, but was enjoyable enough. Looking back this is a really stacked cast. Sinese plays malevolent so well.
People act like he was so loveable in Forest Gump. Ultimately he was at the end. But he walked the line in that one as well.
@ct6852 He played a loveable and likable character regardless of how he emotionally felt after losing his legs.
Whithout a doubt, this is the best reaction from you both so far‼️ The way you two immersed in the plot was a amazing. Thank you‼️👏👏👏
Mel Gibson is one of the greatest actors of all time.
100%. It's a shame not many people react to that masterpiece.
@@malindemunich2883 it's hard when you know history and just see blatant stuff
To see Mel Gibson as the bad guy you root for, you should watch Payback. The tagline was literally "Get ready to root for the bad guy"
I was just thinking about that. Great film! And no kids in distress.
Payback was such a fun ride.
Still prefer the original cut over the one they have now.
Yeah but which cut? This is the most drastic directors cut I have ever seen with a completely different villain and completely different third act
This movie is like Jaws. It tugs at your worst fears and is relatable on every level weather your a parent or not.
*Cassie: "I would press in the bullet wound!!!"*
- Parental instincts overcome fear every time. 🐸
EDIT: I'm laying on the ground struggling to breathe, and my just turned 3 daughter is petting the frog and berating me for "scaring froggy." GOOD TIMES
Donnia Wahlberg was also Carwood Lipton in Band of Brothers.
Did he die??
@@ct6852Like I said IN MOVIES, I miss him being in more roles, not life. lol
@@AnthonyMartin-k8m Oh. lol. Thought you meant he passed.
I don't know if I'm saddened, or proud of Carly here. This is the FIRST time (at least that I've noticed), whereas she DIDN'T hide her eyes during the violence at the climax of the film. She was INTO it!!!
She's becoming a seasoned pro at this now...😀😀😀
😂I noticed the same thing.

Yep, it's called desensitizing. Repeated exposure to violence will do that to you.
One of us!
4:15 Yes. Looking back, they really had great chemistry as a couple. I mean I saw these films as a boy. Didn't register that back then ;)
Donnie Wahlburg is in Band Of Brothers. He plays Carwood Lipton.
I think this is Ron Howard's best movie. It is so intense and emotional and really shows the love that a parent has for their child because Tom was willing to risk everything he had to get his son back including going to jail or dying to save him. Mel Gibson's performance in this movie is excellent.
Sinise is also great in Of Mice and Men which he also directs.❤
29:39 This is great female mother rage. Rene Russo is so good in the 90's
In the end, Shaker would've killed them all anyway. He couldn't trust any of them, and it was always about him getting the money.
Donnie Walberg became known by being in New Kids on the Block. Now he's in the TV show Blue Bloods.
Yes, he's Markie Mark's (Mark Walberg) brother.
The 80s was a decade for great music, and the 90s was the decade for great films.
Love Donny Walberg. He was amazing in Band of Brothers. And Gary has done so much for the troops. The Lt. Dan Band is my favorite musical act of all time.
My guy delroy lindo is always on point. From something like this to Romeo must die. Deserves his flowers.
"Give me back my son!"
Classic Gibson.
That whole scene is classic. Find me a more iconic 90s scene.
I had fun.😃
"I recognize everyone but can't place them..."
Jackie Brown is played by Dan Hedaya, whom you likely know as the father in Clueless 😉
Check him out as Nixon in Dick, with Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams.
You 2 have one more Mel Gibson War to watch "Gallipoli"(1981). The worse battle in Aussie History.
This movie was a rollercoaster. I remember seeing this in cinema and the shock in the scene when Sinise fires the gun. Heart-stopping.
That story would be cooler if your stepson had been kidnapped for a ransom
@@sparksdrinker5650 By Gary Sinise...
Also, Donna Reed (from "It's a Wonderful Life") is the mother in that original movie.
This is the one Mel Gibson/Ron Howard film I watch more than any other. I am so glad you guys are watching this. A real hidden gem and lost classic.
I haven't watched it in years, but I remember almost every scene like it was yesterday. I was working in a theater when it came out.
I had not realized how much Cassie and Carly crying would upset me... Love you ladies..
The kid is Nick Nolte's son, Brawley Nolte. This was his first film.
Never be embarrassed about getting emotional at a movie, because a good movie should move your emotions to their extents.
Her “Oh crap” right at the beginning cracked me up! Their genuine reactions are always great entertainment.
This is the most emotional I have seen from you girls. Thanks for the reaction!
Have you never seen her reaction to Rabbit Proof Fence? Only a Patreon exclusive unfortunately.
What a ride!
One of my fave Mel movies (so many to choose from). Gary Sinise and Rene Russo were fantastic in this (you two would LOVE her in The Thomas Crown Affair)
Ron Howard and Sinise had teamed up before Ransom on a little flick called Apollo 13.
Yas!!! Push Thomas 👑 Affair... they will lose their minds!!!
Definitely push for THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR.
Shirley, you must be joking...
Had no idea this was a remake.
@@genghisgalahad8465 I'm not joking. And don't call me Shirley.
"I will never forgive any of you for making me watch this movie if he jumps..."
Cassie, you and Carly are priceless. The movie was excellent but I had an even better time watching you two react to it. At the same time I felt really badly for you both because I could feel your turmoil. I have never seen two more genuine people in my life. That's what makes you who you are. Don't ever change.
Yeah, Cassie told me that was directed towards me since I sent the movie to her. Thankfully we're good now😊
Back 1996 I watched that in the cinemas and I think it was one of my first Mel Gibson movies.
I love your genuine and concerned reactions, when you get invested in the characters!
You should know Donnie Wahlberg very well by now. He was in Band of Brothers.
Renee Russo was in Outbreak, as Dustin Hoffman's wife/ex wife.
When you provide a well written script and put a strong cast around Mel Gibson, a great film emerges. He won’t let you down. The intensity during the back and forth between him and Sinise over the phone was movie magic!
I couldn’t wait for that scene as soon as I started the reaction.
30:19 i cried like a baby watching this scene the first time. Amazing acting. One of the best movie ever
If you're going to suggest someone look an organization up, it would be a good idea to give the name of the organization.
5:37 that’s Lt Dan from Forrest Gump, George from Of Mice And Men, Ken from Apollo 13, and The Sheriff (Sharon Stone’s character’s father) from The Quick and The Dead.
I can't believe y'all are watching all these movies for the 1st time, these are THE classics. You should've seen them years ago!

Seeing James Horner listed as the music composer breaks my heart.
RIP my man, you are sorely missed.
Legend. RIP.
Sounds like Horner took a lot of inspiration from James Newton Howard's score from The Fugitive.

Gary Sinise, bless his heart, and he has some of the most convincing eyes in Cinema history, and it shows here.

Belated Happy Birthday to Mel Gibson yesterday, he turned 68.
This movie and The Patriot - both of your reactions were exactly what many people were feeling and you know what? I hope the actors and director see how their work MOVED you. I don't know that they ever do except maybe at the premier, but they aren't in every theater, aren't meeting the paying customers, aren't seeing that success every time you have sweaty palms, racing hearts, tears of rage, fear or joy. That's one of the best things to come out of reactor channels.
By the way, you want to see Mel Gibson as a bad guy you root for? "Payback" as a bunch of people have already recommended.

Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie saw their reactions to some of the Mission Impossible films. They invited them to the Top Gun Maverick premiere.
@joelwillems4081 agreed....that's why I mention the premiere:-) Cruise is one in a million, reaching out to the sisters. Hollywood has lost touch with the fan base too much. Cruise is smart to recognize it and try to rebuild bridges with the younger crowd
Gary Sinise was so evil it was easy to forget he's one of the best people.
Also, Mel Gibson is a badass. Now a "Payback" reaction can't be far and that's a great revenge movie.
You clearly, forget when he also voiced evil characters like Shaw in Open Season.
Well, this was like one year after Apollo 13. He had just saved Tom Hanks. He can't be bad.
