The reason there are so many pan shots is to show that there may be someone there but you can't really see them. It's like they panned the camera to an actor but we just don't see them. Same thing with some of the shots that are from down the hall from his perspective watching.
@@MrSkinnyWhale exactly what I thought, it was one the few things that annoyed me. Most restaurants, especially "wealthy" ones, have security cameras that can see everything.
I adore this movie because half of the pan shots are Adrian moving around her. There’s a scene where she walks out of her room and “Adrian” pans around the corner backward!! It’s so cool when you watch it again and think of it that way
Exactly, after I rewatched the film (this time not covering my eyes half the time because I knew where the jump scares were), the movement was so perfect and it *made sense*. Like he wasnt here one shot and across the room a second later. If you follow the shots you can kinda map out the route he took which i think is stupendous.
I freaking adored The Invisible Man. Leigh Whannell did such an amazing job at reinventing its original premise in such a terrifying way and does everything with it. It’s amazingly directed, the story is beyond engaging, psychological, and unpredictable, Elizabeth Moss gives a killer performance, there are so many frightening and jaw-dropping scenes that leave you glued to your seat, and I love how it handles its themes on domestic abuse.
I'm not scared of the ocean itself. I'm scared of storms in oceans. When I see a ocean with storm scene in a movie I just feel dreadfully uncomfortable.
This film got better for me the more I thought about it. I just like that it's taking the classic HG Wells story and makes it more modern in today's society. Plus Elisabeth Moss just killed it in this film.
Ok listen it HAS to be said.... the first Saw movie is nothing like the rest and it's genuinely an amazing horror movie with only minimal gore in like three scenes. The rest of the franchise is trash but the first one is so, so good.
Saw as a franchise was convoluted but for the most part it was an excellent riveting story with a moral....as the story progresses you emphasize with John/Jigsaw and realise he is a good man with good intentions albeit s bit ott 😁 on the lessons he teaches but how the story develops in each film (leaving aside the torchure) is quite brilliant and I love how it comes full circle!
Alex Nicole I disagree. Yes, the first one is clearly the best, but the rest are still enjoyable (most of them), and the fact that it tells such a continuous story is awesome!
Mister WiZeguy the entire franchise has a soft spot in my heart for some weird reason and there’s good moments throughout them but lbr, the plot gets insanely convoluted and overly complex given the movies become straight up torture porn. I appreciate them so much for how they tried to string together some mystery and grand storytelling but it rarely worked and was mostly a vehicle for more torture lol. That said: Spiral looks dope.
Made on small budget and shot in Australia. And damn good. Elisabeth Moss is just outstanding as always. Last film I saw at the cinema before lockdown. Glad it was a good 'un.
I’m so glad you decided to watch this. The way the story developed is (chef’s kiss) perfect with great setups and payoffs. Also hands down one of the most satisfying endings of all time, imo. The fact that people are somewhat on the fence with it, like debating whether what she did was right or wrong ‘cause we never really saw the real killer, further cements it. Morally ambiguous, maybe. Justified, absolutely. Nitpicks be damned. 10/10.
I saw this movie spontaneously back in March, just to waste some time as it was the only movie playing at that time and I absolutely loved it, that ending was so fulfilling, he got what he deserved. I haven't seen much of Elizabeth Moss' work but I thought she nailed this role.
My wife and I were lucky enough to see it at our local cinema just before the world went to shit and all the theatres shut. That restaurant scene took everyone by surprise. Ive never before or since heard so many people go "WHOA FUCK!!!" all at once😆

Ngl I cried so much from this movie. This I'd a definite horror but psychological. I went through abuse myself from my d*d and then seeing my mom go through that shit as well. Even when they're "dead" the memories can haunt you.
I've been sort of binge-watching your horror / thriller reactions since discovering your channel a couple of days ago. As a fellow horror-avoider, I thank you for doing the hard work for us. There are quite a few of these movies that I've been wanting to watch for cinematography or stuff I've heard about story, but I can't bring myself to do it. You censor the nasty stuff and I get to experience it vicariously through you without having to actually frighten myself. Cheers! (When I was in my teens / early 20s my friends thought it funny to drag me to horror movies and I don't know how I did it. They made me watch The Descent (shit ending), Quarantine (shit ending), Final Destination... one of them. One with 'the hook man' and the one with the theme park. One of the 28 days/weeks/mths later. The Resident Evils but even though they were scary I actually liked them. The first three, anyway.

During quarantine, i’m having a great time catching up on some of your content. The throat slit seen in the theater literally shook me to my core... like fuuuuuuck 😅 that’s when I knew it wasn’t just a cheap horror movie, but actually a really methodically planned out story. Not sure how things are over there for you, but if you have the time, you should definitely check out 1917. LITERAL CHILLS. It’s like a two hour roller coaster that your eyeballs fall in love with. The music, the visuals, the story, it’s just unbelievable.
Glad the videos can help ☺️ saw 1917 at the cinemas. What an experience! Don’t think it’s a film I would do a commentary for though. I don’t think I would bring something new or different compared all the reviews out there

Nics&Nacs for sure, I was more so just recommending it if you haven’t seen it yet. I’m a nerd when it comes to movie commentaries (hoping to launch my own commentary channel in the next few weeks😊) and 1917 just came out on home release not too long ago. They have a commentary from Sam Mendes and Roger Deakins and they’re both awesome 👏.
My favorite scenes are: 1. Where Cecilia is in the attic and pours paint revealing the Invisible man; 2. The restsurant scene where she watches as her sister is killed; 3. Where she's outside investigating why the doors open. We then see another person's breathe showing. Creepiest scene ever is when he took pictures of his wife and Sydney while they slept.
Watched your video the other night and it was because of this video I bought the dvd yesterday for black Friday. It was like 9 bucks. Thanks for the video.

So I found it quite funny at 9:26 to hear you say that there was no chance you'd ever watch Saw, lol ... funny world isn't it. Another great reaction, gonna have to watch Saw next :-)
I just saw this last night, and I'm NOT a fan of horror/suspense movies either. I can get startled by something that happens, but I don't think I've been "scared" by a movie since I was six. That being said, the movie was great. It was a bit formulaic in places. The dog showing up in the beginning after she kicks his bowl. The diazepam showing up later and being used on her. The brother killed in the suit and used as a fall guy because there were far too many mistakes made by this genius in the hospital, it had to be someone else. And the entire end sequence from the suit to the "Surprise" was just set up so perfectly. Even though it was predictable it was still so good because of the AMAZING acting and directing. This may be one of the best directed and best shot films I've ever seen, I'd almost say it was like a modern day Hitchcock in terms of using all these elements. Hope you do more like this one, maybe I'll watch a few more "scary movies".
I like how they named him Adrian Griffin because that plays off of Jack Griffin from the original Invisible Man made in 1933. You definitely have to check out the original or the 2018 version of Halloween. What I didn't like: Why does nobody have their doors locked?
I’m glad you enjoy them ☺️ Weird how the last 6 years on my channel have flown by and people still have fun watching my content. I really appreciate it ☺️
Great reaction! I love this movie! You may know by now that this is based on the original Universal Monster classic "The Invisible Man", from 1932. That is to say, it's part of the Monsters franchise but is a re-imagining of the original, staring Claude Rains. Universal has been trying to bring their Monster franchise into the 21st century but has not been successful, until now. The film you just watched has kick-started all the plans they attempted to roll out in 2017 (with the release of "The Mummy", staring Tom Cruise) but without the "Shared Universe"-construct. Now, they are just going to take the re-introduction of the Monster characters -- Dracula, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Creature of the Black Lagoon, etc. -- one at a time, in smaller-budget films, allowing the Directors to create new scenarios for these classic Horror characters! I'm excited to see what they do next!
Yesss I'm so sorry this is a late comment but I just watched The Invisible man and I loved it such great acting by Elizabeth Moss and I couldn't wait to see you're reaction to it great job can't wait to see more 😊
I recently downloaded the score for invisible man and loved but I’ve stopped listening to it because I swear there’s an invisible guy just watching me lmao
After watching this film my first thought was how amazing it would be if that was a prequel film of the re-make of The Fantastic Four by Marvel. Like, somehow each character of the Fantastic Four characters get these thriller/horror solo films, only for Marvel to be like 'SIKE it was us the whole time!' and make them come together as their new, slightly more creepy, Fantastic Four!!
@Studio Autio I know, but it'd be a cool difference from the previous films, to set it apart, that actually all the new fantastic Four have their gifts through science. Like, perhaps Mr Fantastic can't actually stretch his limbs, but using some gadget or suit can warp space around himself, making it look like his limbs are stretching but its actually everything else. *shrugs* Just be neat if they made the characters different in some way from the previous two iterations, at least for me.
Franco Yauri there’s better than this garbage like guns akimbo color out of space or bad boys for life they are way better than this garbage 3rd worst horror movie I’ve seen
I definitely recommend checking out the original 6 invisible man movies (and possibly reacting to them?) from 1933-1951? (I probably have the 50s date wrong but I digress) they're so well done for their time. While they may not be scary, they just have that vintage charm to them.
The pure shock in Elizabeth’s face at the restaurant scene was so real and devastating
i agree she needs an oscar

Love watching your videos your reactions are always so beautifully awesome and funny and really smart and cool lol
If you've not seen it yet, I would recommend that you check out The Umbrella Academy. Very good show that just got renewed for a second season
Watched I think up to the second last episode. Robert Sheehan ❤️
To each their own I suppose
No count? More like “Nurr” count, bada bing!
You should react to trick r treat! It's an amazing horror anthology movie!
*Your channel will blow up soon girl.* I have no idea how I got to see your videos. I'm glad I did and I certainly enjoy them.
I’m glad you enjoy them ☺️ Weird how the last 6 years on my channel have flown by and people still have fun watching my content. I really appreciate it ☺️
@@nicsandnacs ❤ Thank you and keep making fun videos, please.
I saw this film twice in a week. Great camera work, and an amazing soundtrack! Quite a freaky concept too!
Leigh Whannell has come a long way from the days when he did movie reviews on Recovery.
Funny comment how would u know the guy is invisible lol
I watched two days ago. What a great great movie.
A couple of recommendations :
"The fifth element" and "Don't breathe"
😺
Yes! Glad I found this one you’ll love it.
Love this movie! So fantastic.
I just seen this movie a few days ago and quite enjoyed it! Looking forward to the dark knit rises! Stay motivated!!!
This movie was amazing.. Best so far of 2020
Franco Yauri there’s better than this garbage like guns akimbo color out of space or bad boys for life they are way better than this garbage 3rd worst horror movie I’ve seen
Hollow Man was a good "invisible man" movie with Kevin Bacon. Memoirs of An Invisible Man was a comedy with Chevy Chase.
Hi it’s grant from Philly! I think you should react to the intruder movie! Your reaction is fantastic!
Nice. Lavender is your eyeshade, btw. Do every Miyazaki film - you will love them. That is an order.
reminds me of that J'LO Flick "Enough"... but more fked up
what editing program do you use?
Premiere Pro ☺️
Omg thanks for responding! 😊
JJ Commentary No problem ☺️
oh and, when the knife fell, it didn't make a noise, which means he grabbed it. Which is why it shows up in a bag with the other things in the attic
You should check out Sleeping with the Enemy with Julia Roberts!
do you think this movie is a metaphor for abusive relationships?
That's all we need another message that says MEN ARE BAD!!!!!!!
Obviously lol
I definitely recommend checking out the original 6 invisible man movies (and possibly reacting to them?) from 1933-1951? (I probably have the 50s date wrong but I digress) they're so well done for their time. While they may not be scary, they just have that vintage charm to them.
Nice work.. also this was filmed in Sydney :)
Aussie represent!
Nics&Nacs I interviewed Leigh for it, such an incredible film. Loving you videos keep it up.
