+laclaude1234 Yeah and we never even had a decent hockey team. We have two or three teams in the whole country that compete few times a year. True story. :)
I always asked this question even as a kid: How is it possible that nobody in the entire crowd saw her make this save? They all stood up in suspense like "did she make the save?" And they only react when she drops the puck onto the ice. Well you didn't see it hit the back of the net, did you? Somebody out there had to see her make the save.
It is just a movie after all. If you really want to get into all that, there are so many illegal things that go on in these Mighty Ducks movies that would be called for penalties in normal hockey.
Well they did call Dwayne Robertson 2 minutes for roping :) I dunno, they def did illegal things that were called for penalties and the Ducks just didn't care because they were determined to be badasses and go nuts in the penalty box. But this is the climactic scene in the movie. You should have it make sense so it can't be torn apart so easily. With that said, I still love this movie. Great shootout, and great musical score.
***** Of course it would have counted either way. I just figured it would have been highly unlikely that a slapshot that hard would end up just dribbling across the goal line softly. It's either getting saved, hitting the post/crossbar, or it's hitting the back of the net. And that's why I used that expression.
The commentator was right about Bombay putting in a cold goal tender to save the shot. Going up to Gunnar and saying "Nice try" to rub salt in the wound...that was cold, colder than the ice they were skating on.
CrackaCarpinda if you undertsand cinematography at all younwould know that thats supposed to be a split second delay shot. We get to see the crowd 2 seconds ago. Sherlock Holmes cinematography needs to make sense though. I can see your logic but it doesn't work here because there's absolutely no reason why both the hockey audience and the film viewers can't determine right away that it wasn't a goal. They would've seen it as soon as we did since nothing touched the net. The cheer would've been near instantaneous. A cinematic pause doesn't work in this context. It just looks stupid

Iceland is a country of white Europeans, They had to use white people as enemies and the evil, to push their jewish agenda of diversity
Good work Captain Duck.
Kids, that is not how you take a penalty shot.
Triple deke glove side…. He stick handles, stops and takes a slap shot! 😂LMFAO
Imagine being surprised when you glide in on a breakaway, make no deke, stop literally entirely and take a butterfly shot into the easiest glove save of a little girls life.
Fun fact with Julie in the starting line up at the championship they had win all the games including Iceland!
It takes 5 seconds from the time he stops to the time he shoots the puck... how is this guy the highest goal scorer in the league?
The movie that got me into playing hockey in my youth.
I know its just a movie, but no way in hell a cold goalie can snag Gunnar's slapper.
She got the damn Puck in her glove. Why is everyone reacting to this like they dont know what happen?!?!
LET'S GO SHAKE THEIR HANDS
+Duke barnaníðingur Good work, Captain Duck!
Thanks, Gunnar. :)
"You lost it for yourself."
Usually you get kicked out of the team when you talk back to a coach like that.
worst shootout move ever...who steps over the blue line, stops dead and rips a slap shot
Someone acting out something written by someone who doesn't know shit about hockey...
Honorarius lol seriously......Iceland
K A al macinnes and zdeno chara also haha
Iceland hockey rules!
>Tiple Deke glove side
>stops at the top of the circles to take a slapshot
you know the writers / producer or whoever has no clue about hockey when this happens
And now the Dutch football team are doing this. Bringing on a cold goalkeeper (Krul) in the penalty shoot out against Costa Rica at the World Cup last night! And they won!!
best thing about this movie is how the pucks make laser beam noises when they're shot
Icelands trainer is so hot.
remember CHILLBHAM had the full movie on here for 5 years.......CHILLBHAM...the most epic youtube user of all time
was the guy who played gunnar stahl the same dude who played the varsity goalie in D3???!
***** Actually, it is the same guy.
Sam Smith
Nope, this guy's name is Gunner, the guy in D3 was Scott. Obviously different people :))
e952ct Of course! How could I have missed that. My bad. May god have mercy om my soul.
Yes. Same person different different names. Check the credits.
*Yes, actor Scott Whyte. Does a ton of video game acting work these days.*
I will never understand how Bombay benched his BEST Goalie the entire tournament. Only to bring her in on ONE fucking play.
Because of two words: PLOT CONVENIENCE.
It would've been hilarious if she dropped the puck and it slowly slid into the net.
As kids we always tot so too!
I felt sorry for Julie for sitting on the bench the whole movie. She was better than Goldberg.
DUCKS WIN DUCKS WIN DUCKS WIN DUCKS WIN! OMG QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK QUACK
