      When a team captain has more honor than the coach, then you know the makings of a great leader. Gunner likely had great success in life, even if not hockey. I've coached rugby before & always treated kids with good character, respect & sportsmanship like we were all in it together. Yielded some great results.

    I always asked this question even as a kid: How is it possible that nobody in the entire crowd saw her make this save? They all stood up in suspense like "did she make the save?" And they only react when she drops the puck onto the ice. Well you didn't see it hit the back of the net, did you? Somebody out there had to see her make the save.

    • @_morgoth_
      @_morgoth_ 8 лет назад +69

      It is just a movie after all. If you really want to get into all that, there are so many illegal things that go on in these Mighty Ducks movies that would be called for penalties in normal hockey.

    • @billny33
      @billny33 8 лет назад +18

      Well they did call Dwayne Robertson 2 minutes for roping :)
      I dunno, they def did illegal things that were called for penalties and the Ducks just didn't care because they were determined to be badasses and go nuts in the penalty box.
      But this is the climactic scene in the movie. You should have it make sense so it can't be torn apart so easily.
      With that said, I still love this movie. Great shootout, and great musical score.

    • @osamabad3597
      @osamabad3597 7 лет назад +9

    • @billny33
      @billny33 7 лет назад +7

      ***** Of course it would have counted either way. I just figured it would have been highly unlikely that a slapshot that hard would end up just dribbling across the goal line softly. It's either getting saved, hitting the post/crossbar, or it's hitting the back of the net. And that's why I used that expression.

Because we the audience know that she saved it and eventually in 2 seconds so will the crowd thats why we see GUNNAR stop before makimg the shot as to silence the crowd because when we see the audience thre is no crowd roar, in real person he wouldnt have stopped it makes no sense but in a movie were your building suspeneful emotion and adding creative sequence you need a CONTINUITY..

      Sherlock Holmes cinematography needs to make sense though. I can see your logic but it doesn't work here because there's absolutely no reason why both the hockey audience and the film viewers can't determine right away that it wasn't a goal. They would've seen it as soon as we did since nothing touched the net. The cheer would've been near instantaneous. A cinematic pause doesn't work in this context. It just looks stupid

    In disgust of his native Iceland and humbled by Julie "The Cat" Gaffney, Gunnar Stahl then defected into the U.S.A; he changed his name to Scott "Scooter" Holland and enrolled at the Eden Hall Academy. From there he rose to prominence now starting goaltender himself on the Eden Hall Warriors Varsity ice hockey team. In an epic grudge match between the school's Varsity and Freshmen's team, Scott allowed a single game winning goal made by Greg Goldberg in the final moments of the 3rd period. Ever still the good sportsman, he congratulated Julie and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

      That choice was done on purpose, apparently.
      The big ice hockey competitors to the US are/were Canada and Russia, and Steven Brill (who wrote the scripts) didn't want to risk "getting political" by using the latter. Instead he chose a "stock country with a Nordic mystique" that not a lot of people were familiar with.
      This of course raises another question - why not go with Sweden, which apparently IS an ice hockey powerhouse?

    The first thing my dad taught me to do after learning how to walk was to learn how to skate. Not only was he my dad but he was my coach and he coached me all the way from mites to bantams. My dad reminds me of bombay the way he brought our team together as a family. I remember he would one time he brought the whole team to the mall and we all had our jerseys on and roller blades and pretty much felt like the mighty ducks. I will keep playing hockey till the day i die as i played since i was born

    That's not a triple deke, the goal Charlie scores at the end of the first movie to win the final game is this particular move, this guy stops so far away from the goal, but still the pause is effective in the suspense of the movie

      Dpal93 I've been playing hockey since I was 6 years old (I'm now 21) and Id say it's equally difficult to shoot either side. Going glove side is definitely not known as a fancy move in hockey as they make it out to be.
