I am a retired O/O and did get my broker's license and bond then decided I was far more interested in the "transportation" side of logistics (dispatching, routing, etc.) than the sales side of it. However, , I have now left the trucking industry altogether now due to the reputation that brokers and dispatchers have- It angers me to no end how these online predators sell their dispatching courses for hundreds- even thousands- of $$ and tell some sincere and well meaning guy in Pakistan, who has never been to the US and knows nothing about the business, geography, etc. how successful he/she will be!!

I hear you! Regarding the overseas dispatchers, I recently heard that DAT is moving towards removing accounts on their platform that are not based in the U.S. We’ll see. The FMCSA is beginning to ‘regulate’ the dispatching side of things, removing some loopholes. However, our trucking system is what it is for a long time, I’m afraid.
