I am honestly blown away you need to pop clutch cover to clean oil stariner as its not oil filter let's be honest, why? I never ever follow manufacturer service intervals and always do it much more often oil changes are the most simple and significant way to keep your bike running mint. Sump bolt no magnet either, this is my sons bike and had some Chinese engines on my fantic casa but all my ktm bmw yamaha and all bikes got oil strainer or filter easily accessible. Other than this is straigh forward
Hello, When there supposed to be first oil change during running-in the engine??? On the engine cover there is note that after 200km but in the manual they are saying after 600miles (1000km).... I did already 450miles on my bike and I'm not sure if supposed to change it or wait till 600miles......
I just bought mine last Tuesday and have done 230miles, I'm doing mine in the morning but will be using mineral 10 40, just buy cheap oil and replace every 500 miles or so.
This procedure is for the 2017-2020 Terrain - the Euro 5 version has a cartridge oil filter, which makes life a bit easier! At this point, any Euro 4 model will be outside of warranty so it is down to the owner if they want to go to the effort of cleaning the screen filter and fitting a new clutch gasket. Personally, I'd think about doing it every few years at least to check the condition of things inside the engine.

Isn’t the centrifugal oil filter meant to be cleaned out too ?
