hey mike, just a suggestion for scamberghini , make a endoskeleton and rollcage for bolting it up and since diablo share same z32 headlights, u need to just basically rob a front end frame from a 300zx

as for what you should do maybe look into some bags for the body an sit the frame on the bags so you can raise an lower the shell to change out the shocks eazy-er cause as it sits now you wont be able to tern the top locker bolt with the frame all the way down an windows in
Don't forget, with the extra width at the front to get good fitment, it's likely your front and rear tubs will need cutting out to allow for steering lock especially with an 18" front wheel. Obviously check this while your still at the cutting/fabbing stage.
Mike, one tip, when cutting any roof of any car you should weld in an X brace from the front to the back section of the car to prevent any flex in the body remaining, in this case the floorpan (this brace can be cut out later when you bolt in the roll cage to do the same thing), but good work so far, sorry we were unable to come to the open day, but will catch up soon!

Awesome project! Regarding the steering column, either make it adjustable so that you can do fitment when your seats are in. Or wait until you know your seating position exactly. Your steering wheel position is important to have a nice driving car. Cheers, looking forward to the next one!

I don't know if it's possible but shift a bit forward (even 10/20 cm) the driver side of firewall, with pedals and seat would give you a better drive position...

Cut the chassis longways down the middle and widen it 300mm then just get 150mm wider axles and tie rods then you'll have the wider wheel track without using spacers. And retain suspension geometry. Haha. Keep up your great work. Can't wait to see it at WTAC 2025

I'd cut the Lambo body into sections and build molds and lightweight versions of the panels, so if damaged, you can easily fix it instead of having a crushed body to repair. Build some simple aluminum subframes and glass some points on the underside of the panels to mount to a subframe that's attached to the chassis.

@@itsmikelake out of general curiosity, cost wise, would it have been cheaper to consider the RX8 engine?? I know silly apex seals are annoying, and the exhaust ports are not Turbo friendly but what if you purchased an entire rx8 with a 'supposed' rebuild needed rotary then there's a potential to re-use the body for something else or mod?? (just an idea) haha

I've always heard wheel bearings get stressed with low offsets but i've never actually had an issue with it, touch wood! Regardless, it'll be wild haha. BRAP!

Hi Mike, I am deff. #teame36 but a MR2 (old model) base with engine in the back? Or BMW E36 coupe or Compaq maybe fits better? E36 base is very cool :) with my wide body they used think iron and put fyberglass on it. A longer dash doesnt look bad at all. Make it good custom at the doors, and steong enough if somebody would leanon it it wont crack. I wouldnt recommend the cabrio style, but a bit more time and effort with custom fit it good, because this is going to be a special project. Front fenders (and bumper) must be made when the wheals or on. Back wont be a problem to 11J plus. In my vlog I have the original RIEGER offset and tires. Maybe you should work from that. That drives good, if you go work custom from that, you have performance look, but not good drive ability.
Wouldn't it be easier to make a tube chassis and to just weld in E36 suspension mounts?

I think the most logical thing would be to use the BMW chassis in reverse, let me explain, the engine and the firewall towards the rear, and what was the rear of the BMW towards the front, why? because you already have the points where the engine and the engine and transmission tunnel would go, you just have to make the subframe that will support the engine and transmission and make all the front suspension and steering.
I like your thought process! But the reason we’re using the e36 chassis is because they’re amazing for drifting. And I don’t want to lose any of the characteristics 😛

Our knowledge of the e36 chassis meant this was the best option. I’d rather a little more effort in the build whilst knowing exactly how it’ll drive when done 😁
My question is why would you use an e36 as the chassis?
Same wheel base, awesome drift chassis, we produce parts for them and know them very well 😁
You really need to bedliner the underside of the Lambo body to seal and help protect you from the fiberglass
This will happen in time! We have to add some structural metal etc in first before we paint the underside of the shell

Why not rear motor setup with a Audi 4.2 and a a6 non Quattro v6 gearbox thats basically a Lamborghini gearbox because the engine is inline with the car and the gearbox only goes to the front wheels for the a6
Rear motor sucks for drifting and I’m not a massive fan personally! I love the thought of popping the frunk and having a 13b turbo sitting under there 😛

I wouldn't run spacers on a drift car i have heard to many horror stories of axles getting broken and damaging studs from really thick spacers just a heads up
Spacers are very common in drifting! I think you’re reading a lot of internet nonsense 😅. I run 40mm spacers on the rear of my competition car and 25mm on the front and haven’t had a failure in my 6 years of drifting 😁

Old ifs hilux chassis 4 link rear end then build a cage of the chassis
