    Thanks for linking this to the Monte--very interesting rebuild. So did you have to replace the fuel pump? Nice job!!

    I appreciate the videos carnal 👌💯 been alot from your vids
    I have the same car and engine v6
    Most car of tht year have a whole bunch of vacuum lines your engine bay is real nice and clean.
    How were you to able make it look like tht
    Did you ditch all the vacuum lines? With that set up that you have see you have new intake and carb setup
    Because its a hassle trying to route vacuum line and find leaks and try to tune it
    Or hopefully you can make a vid of the process of how you did that the pros and cons i guess you can say tht
    Because if tht helps the performance in the car, ill ditch all the line amd do the same setup up as you did

    What performance improvements do you see with your 231, utilizing a 500cfm Edelbrock 4bbl? What Edelbrock intake manifold are you using? I'm restoring an '81 Cutlass with a new 231 engine and 2bbl factory carb. Great videos by the way. Nicely done.

      I can feel a bit of improvement in performance. Not enough to do it again on another 231 motor. I have part # 5486 for the manifold. Nice! those factory 2bbl carbs run really nice when they're tuned properly. If I knew what I know now I would of kept my motor all stock. Thank you for watching 👊💯. My apologies on the late reply, I just saw your comment today.

      There's only so much you can get out of a 231, less turbo. Mine will be all stock. An LS is way too expensive. I just can't stand all the ridiculous smog control garbage, thanks to the disastrous CAFE standard from the late 70s' early 80's. Sigh... I'm attempting a remedy. @@StillStandingGarage

    How’s it going, I have the same engine in my 79 Monte, and 231 V6 3.8L. Can you tell me what intake manifold and Edelbrock Carburetor you have in your regal? Also where did you purchase them? Thanks for your time.

    • @StillStandingGarage

      Nice! The manifold is Edelbrock #5486, and the carb is an Edelbrock #1404. I got these from Jegs. I'm not sure if they still have them there. I got mine back in 2005. Thank you for watching 🤝💯

    How do you like that intake manifold with no EGR

    • @StillStandingGarage

      I like it. It feels like it has a bit more power without it.

    How do you like that intake and carb on the v6 ? Do you feel any difference ?

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  2 года назад +2

      Yeah I like it. It runs better than stock. Took a bit of tuning but it runs good now. Working on replacing the fuel pump and adding a fuel pressure gauge and possibly a pressure regulator. Should improve how it runs even more.

      I have a 1984 Buick Regal 3.8 V6 231 just like yours. I look up the 1404 Edlebrock Carburetor like yours but it says it is for the 305 V8 engine not the 231 but I am assuming it is because I will have to change the intake manifold is that right? Also do you have the part# for the intake manifold that I need to make mine like yours? Thanks In advance!

    • @StillStandingGarage
      @StillStandingGarage  2 года назад +4

      Nice! Yes, you'll need the 4bbl manifold to install the Edelbrock #1404 carb. Here's the part number for the manifold...Edelbrock part #5486 💪💯
