Prepare yourself for the journey ahead. You will laugh at points, and cry at others, sometimes all in one song. Ren is an artist in every sense of the word, and that’s the only category or box you can put his work in. He’s just art. He’s a multitalented musical master. He can rap, sing, play several instruments with skill, produces his own music, conceptualizes and directs his own videos, and he’s completely independent, not on a label. The RENegades will show up for every Ren reaction. His music has, undoubtedly, impacted many who have heard it.

In my 57 years I've heard hundreds of not thousands of wonderful artists, but nothing quite like Ren. This "song" and this man have had a profound impact on my life since I first heard him 13 months ago. He's like no other.

This is the kind of artistry that gives "broken" people hope. Ren, through this performance piece, has become to a lot of people exactly what he stated in the song, "...the voice that you hear when you loosen the noose on the rope". So powerful, so impactful. Even the song structure itself is incredible. It starts off as a battle between his positive (Angel) and negative (Demon) aspects, the negative then makes an overpowering last ditch effort to reign supreme, tearing free and trying to take control, but ultimately fails as the final act, being the "God" aspect, emerges Triumphant, though still acknowledging and accepting that it will ALWAYS be a battle because we are all "a coin with 2 different sides". It's a beautifully cathartic and raw musical masterpiece. Ren is truly special. Welcome to the Ren rabbit-hole, it's a trip worth taking. This was the 4th take he did and yes, it was done live. Wait until you hear some of his other stuff, especially his storytelling ("The Tale of Jenny & Screech"). You haven't even touched the breadth of this young man's talent yet.
The pig character (imo) represents the doctors and therapist who have essentially butchered him for years through their misdiagnosis. It's the system that focuses on peddling more pills than on genuinely trying to help to fix broken/ill people, caring more about profit than individual health. The bastardization of the hippocratic oath. He literally thought he was going insane because he was told repeatedly that the pain and symptoms he was experiencing were all in his head (psychosomatic). He had reached a point where he literally resigned himself to dying before he reached 30. Turns out he had Lyme's disease the whole time and it ran rampant through his system for 10 years, even to the point of causing brain damage. Ironically, if Ren hadn't gone through what he has, would he have ever made the art he has? There's no question that his suffering has shaped his music and now he's finally getting the recognition he undoubtedly deserves. I've said it before, I'll say it again, Ren is special.

Renegade for a year now. Best, most supportive group on the internet. I subbed for more Ren. We love sharing him with the world. He is one of us and has chosen to be the voice for the voiceless invisible community of chronic physical and mental illness. He is 33 almost 34(March 29). He has been sick with undiagnosed Lyme disease since he was 19. Bedbound much of his early 20s. Still now suffering from daily pain MCAS, and several other conditions caused by Lyme disease and the trauma of being told it was all in his head and given psych drugs that made him worse.
You will get to know the depth of his talent and character if you continue the journey. Renegades will be here for it.

after a year of obsession watching ren reactions and all things ren. having seen over 1000hi rens. i seldom comment any more. but it was such a joy watching your reaction. it was similar to mine the first time. you are indeed in for a treat as ren is a unicorn, only one. in the world.,to be cherished , I am an 80 year old man, and without Ren this last year of such tragic and evil things in the world, i don't think i would have made it. i also will say you have movie star qualities, do make use of them . looking forward to more ren, and if you get around to them my passion before ren-pentatonix

There is so much to say, however I leave that to others. My suggestion is you react to Ren 'Sick Boi', 'Money Game 1, 2 and 3', 'Tale of Jenny and Screech (Full)' then just about anything else. His recent album has a masterpiece 'Seven Sins' as well as other awesome works. For some wild stuff try 'Animal Flow' and 'Murderer'. Poignent and heartfelt, I suggest in order 'Freckled Angels', 'Dominoes', 'Suicide' and 'For Joe'; those will definitely have you in tears. But there is fun Ren. Try 'Love Music 1, 2, 3 and 4'. 'Losing it' is pure genius. Then there are other works of Ren's that will blow you away just as much as all those mentioned. Have fun, Saeed, Ren is definitely a journey you want to take.

Now you've done it. This is a very deep rabbit hole. Ren has such talent and covers some heavy topics. One I would recommend is "Chalk Outlines" w/Chinchilla live. Then there is the band The Big Push that he was in and they are special. A song by them I would recommend is "Lonely Boy (Black Keys Cover). The Big Push is so much fun to watch and their artistry is amazing

It's worth diving into Ren's back catalogue. I think you'll find a lot to resonate with. He has a song called Suic*de, which talks about his own struggle with it and about a dear friend whom he lost. It makes a lot of people cry but he has an incredible way of expressing things that can be so healing. I think you might also be interested in his song called Diazepam (aka Valium), which talks candidly about his mixed feelings about the drug.
When Ren reached 1 million subscribers on RUclips he put out a short thank you video which talks about his illness and his philosophy of life. It's a good introduction to the kind of person he is, and why, apart from his vast musical talent, he is connecting with so many people.
Ren put out a hip hop album called Sick Boi in October. There are so many excellent songs on there. He was previously a member of a band called the Big Push, and he has also done some noteworthy collaborations. His video the Tale of Jenny and Screech is well worth watching. The full 13 minute version has 3 related tales placed in order so they make up a bigger story.

For REN, this was truly his reality. Ren had misdiagnosed Lyme disease for 7 years by conventional doctors who deemed him mentally ill, but when patients are experiencing neurological symptoms, they very often become misdiagnosed. Lyme disease can present itself as many neurological conditions including Acute Transverse Myelitis[3], Ptosis[4], Seizures, and Chronic Fatigue[1] and these symptoms can be often misdiagnosed or deemed psychosomatic. Second is dealing with the symptoms of Lyme neuroborreliosis, these neurological symptoms often leave patients feeling drained and debilitated as they begin losing their quality of life. Over time, patients find themselves unable to do the things they love as they struggle to get ahead of their progressing symptoms.
I knew of this disease, but did not know the specific symptoms and how terrible it is. Thank you for sharing.

This video was made for around £50 quid for the camera his mate Samuel Perry Falvey bought and filmed in the basement of a mates flat, and is all LIVE. He loves doing live videos particularly one take....it's what hes become known for over this last year of his sudden fame
Ren is self taught after being confined to his bedroom for years due to autoimmunity disease as a result of misdiagnosed Lyme Disease. He is an all round rarity in that he's a complete performer from acting to teaching himself as many instruments as he could get his hands on from youtube videos to writing all his own beats. He's a phenomenon and totally independent too
Ren loves reactors and won't block any of his videos and has stated often that should your video for some reason be blocked, just msg him and he'll sort it for you. He even put out a thank you video when he reached 1million subscribers thanking his fans and all the reactors that allowed him to blow up the way he has

Absolutely underrated in my opinion. I think you will like the song and it will touch you. I can't wait to see your reaction.
"Crutch" dates back to a time when Ren thought he wouldn't live much longer. Bibi was his girlfriend at that time and launched an appeal for donations for his treatment/diagnosis. If I understood correctly, it was the basis for his Lyme disease diagnosis in Brussels. So we RENegades must also thank Bibi that this great artist can touch our hearts and change our lives. Thank you, Bibi.

Welcome to the Renaissance! Ren is my favourite artist of all time. I say artist because he is a multifaceted diamond! From singing (all styles) to rapping (bars/flows/schemes for days), Bardcore (story telling) beatbox, makes his own beats, scatting and a multi instrumentalist (guitars, bass, drums, melodica and more). On top of that he is the most beautiful human being inside and out who has been through and continues to go through absolute hell.
Ren is 33 from Anglesey, Wales originally but spent most his life in Brighton, England. He has been very ill for years, at one point being completely bed ridden. He was misdiagnosed for years, being told he was bipolar, had M.E and more and was prescribed medications that made him worse and ended up in psychosis. It turns out Ren had Lyme disease which has caused havoc on his body. He’s been living in Calgary, Canada all year receiving intense medical treatment for his brain damage and mast cell activation disorder amongst other things that were caused by the Lyme disease.
He started off making beats at 12 and selling CDs then moved on to busking. He was part of a band called Trick The Fox and was signed to Sony but they didn’t renew the contract after his health deteriorated. He then started The Big Push. They went on hiatus the end of last year after 5 years partly due to his move to Canada and also because the other members are also soloists and were moving around too.

Can I suggest you watch his video he made when he reached 1 million subs -- defining success? It's not a song, but it gives you some insight into his character and what he's been through. Some reactors have done it, but not enough. I am always searching for new reactions to it. But I'm here for it all. And that loosen the noose on the rope line gets me every time. He has a song called Su*cide that is pretty hard to handle emotionally at the end. First half is his struggles with wanting to end his life, and the second half is about his best friend Joe who took his own life. He's also got a song called For Joe, but make sure you watch Su*cide first. And Freckled Angels. Because For Joe is kind of a mash up. Okay, enough rambling. New Sub here.

Welcome aboard and buckle up!!! There are no other artists quite like Ren. I say that as an artist. Ren's rabbit hole is unlike any other I have known. Ren is a RUclips-shared experience. He is able to speak to us and for us in a way that I have not seen before.
The way I describe Ren as an artist is if you took DNA from Dr Dre, Eminem, John Frusciante, Jeff Buckley, Sting, and Gillian Murphy.
Now here's a tip as you prepare yourself for the Ren Rabbit hole. He jumps around genres like hitting Hyperspace in the old Astroids video game. And he's incredible in all of them.
I would ask the Renegade community which versions to react to, as there are some tracks that are immeasurably better than their counterparts. For example, Chalk Outlines LIVE, is the only version you need to react to. Whereas Money Game #2 the lyric video is Da Bomb, the acoustic version ehh. But then there are tracks like Murderer where both versions should be reacted to as they are both as good as the other but they are truly two completely different songs in vibe and execution.
So it's a good move to just ask in your reaction which song to react to next.
Also, there are gems all the way to the bottom. You will constantly be surprised. the rest of the Renegades will fill you in on his backstory and will offer suggestions.

Yep. That's how we all felt when we heard it. If you decide to go down this path, your mind will be blown, over and over. Ren, still an independent artist, does everything himself (with help of friends and collaborators) while undergoing treatment for his illness, managed to hit No.1 on the UK charts.
