The first Virus will always be a cool book to me cuz it’s literally the 1st appearance called “Virus” during a pandemic with a virus being spread across the globe. It’s insane
NICE pick-ups. I have a bunch of the FCBD Spider-man comics as well, I didn't get them slabbed so they are worth less or worthless depending on your point of view. Thanks for sharing the lessons learned, always helpful.
Newer sub and really enjoying the channel. Who are the best ebay sellers (or off eBay) that you use for buying CGC 9.8-quality books if I plan on doing submissions? Many sellers say "NM", but that can mean 9.4s/9.6s. A video on this would be really helpful. Thanks for all of the great info.
love the justice league 50, one of my best friends had the entire run, the box got water damage and literally the only book that was critically damaged was issue 50 lol
16:42 Lol it's pronounced Me-yo-nur can even drop the e after you get used to saying it, cool haul though, I'm about to send 15 to get quick pressed and graded and 10 to just get graded, I'm curious to see how that goes
Mah Yo NUR! lol I would recommend pressing them somewhere other than CCS, it'll be cheaper, faster, and better. Lots of guys on IG are really good. CCS has like a 3-4 month turnaround...
Great lessons btw man. I’m definitely getting ready to submit probably next year. I’m hoping I can come back with all those 9.8s too. Also lmao on Mjolnir
@@BrysComics Pretty sure the post office just charges a rate...... distance doesn’t matter. That’s why it’s the post office...... a public service not a business. The package should cost the same to ship across the street, to Florida or to barrow Alaska.
At 10:11 Be interesting if you had submitted a Spider-Man comic issue #176 the appearance of Corona. With the mentioning of the pandemic on the label and on the comic of the pandemic like character; corona-virus, would definitely be an historical book to slab yet appreciate to keep for many years to come as it relates to today's generation and time of 2020. Nice collections.
Great video. I think you got lucky on this submission. I agree with not submitting to early and not all books need a press. How long did it take to get back from CGC? Have you considered CBCS?
If it was something your keeping than CBCS would be fine. But if your trying to sell them CGC is the only way to go. They are worth way more and alot of people will only buy CGC books which I don't understand. So that's alot of people you are missing out on instantly just based on personal preference.
@@MikesComic_n_Stuff I think that label may end up being worth more than the comic. The comic itself may nit end up being historically significant, but the “delayed by COVID” is definately a historical thing
Hi I’m new to this. I wanted to get my copy of 1994 Mad Love, graded. But what does press, prescreen and all these terms mean? And which do you recommend I do for this issue I want to get graded?
Press means you have it pressed out to get all the imperfections out (that are possible) prescreen means CgC doesn’t grade it unless it hits your minimum grade but you have to have at least 25 books for this...if you just want it graded and don’t care the grade don’t worry about prescreen...try to find an LcS that will submit for you or contact me elsewhere and I can help you out
The first app of Virus is still a hot book, it's just that when they first came out they're hot because every one's buying it. Then it has a cooling down period, which could last four or five years or even ten or more and then become supper hot again. And so new books are tricky, because collectors don't like to hang on to them, they feel that they made a mistake by buying and grading them. I did this myself when I first started grading comics and acquiring graded comics. Back in 2015 I sold the first app of Spider-Man 2099 (Amazing Spider-Man 365) for roughly 200 bucks. It's now super hot and sells for over $1,000. Also, I couldn't sell A-Force #1 (2015) if my life depended on it and ended up selling them for peanuts. Now they're hot and the 9.8's sell for about $200. So, those are my only regrets as a newbie. That and not knowing about pressing. Also I want to add, that box cutter being near those slabs made me nervous throughout the video, lol. Great video, by the way!
That’s why this “white collar reviewer” offers countless generous free giveaways and the option to send books in for others so they can prescreen too. Come on man I am ALL about the community and giving back...
I wouldn't buy the Virus issue from you, but I would buy a raffle ticket for a few bucks if you wanted to offer it that way. ;) Great video, I learned a lot!

Yeah and it mentions the virus on the label, so I'm happy to have one too...
Congrats on the books. I've been looking to submit my first batch for grading and appreciated all the tips!
If you prescreen for 9.8 that means they will slab only the books 9.8 OR HIGHER. So you could get higher than a 9.8.
Gem mints actually exists?
wooooooo thats amazing and congrats! those are some great points my friend, i try to adhere to the same rules
I like the phrase "first cover app of COVID 19" I enjoyed these lessons, and I may come check in again as I'm building my first submission box.
Awesome video and very helpful. Especially knowing that not everything needs a press and clean. Thanks!

Thanks for this amazing information as always.
Great advice when it comes to characters in its infancy.
Great tips.
Brian, I haven't shipped comics to cgc in 10 years.
It was a big step for me but now I'm hooked!
I love the Justice League 50 2nd print 👍
SO it can be any 25 comics, they don't have to be the same issue?
Yep
Yep
Wow. CGC missing a 2nd print is a HUGE mistake. What the hell is going on with them?
I have an Ultimate Fallout 4 2nd print that says it's a first print as well...
Thank you Brian forget information you're very helpful in so many levels. Keep on sharing
Wow! You really went all in on that virus book! Good video nice editing 👌
I regret it now...They are selling for 40-50 though so I won't lose money...
Its not like your taking a loss , profit is profit 👍
First appearance of Virus with a mention of Covid on the slab? That's pretty damn funny. I have a raw copy I might have to submit just for that.
Yes, I think that fact may get more of those comics graded than other actual important / expensive books
How did you ship them?
USPS is the same cost if it’s across the street or to Guam
Not sure what you mean? It's way more expensive to for me to ship stuff to Florida that here in CA...They aren't flat rate boxes...?

I wish that were the case! Weight, dimensions, and destination all play a role in shipping costs with any shipping company, including USPS...
Hello, I am in California as well. I am curious as to which of the 3 shipping options you chose from CGC. Thanks
I always go with USPS because it seems to be faster and it’s insured...the others don’t include insurance if I’m not mistaken
@@BrysComics Thank you once again!! USPS it shall be
