As a man, he’s gaslighting. He knew but was afraid to communicate. He knew after the first date. He shelved it because he had no interest and lost respect for her. He is trying to cover himself so you guys still see him as a “good” guy. If he was this thoughtful in the moment then he would’ve immediately addressed the issues he felt without her asking.

It's okay to be honest about not being interested. I don't care how busy we get.... when someone has our attention, we make time. Period. On the way or from a destination......in between meetings..... first thing in the morning.... just before bed...... the time is there if the interest is.

Phillip is a good example of why women pop their balloon when the guy shows too much interest in other women in the lineup. Look at all that effort he used to get in contact with Brenda and make sure to find out more about her while giving her the cold shoulder. Everything he said was BS. We make time for who and what we want. Plus when someone is really interested in someone they are willing to bend rules and compromise.
I cannot imagine the pressure of making such a major decision in such a short timeframe and expected for everything to just flow into a happy ever after ending. This follow up provided a lot of clarity for both of them and, at the least, it was very direct. Hopefully both of them will find what they are looking for and be happy through with the outcomes~
