    Ahhh, good ‘ol torsion bars. Brings me back to my teens when I lifted my ‘yota. Cranked up the keys then re-arched the rear springs by adding some leafs so I could stuff 33x12.50 M/T’s under there. Can’t believe I never lifted my 95 Silverado. Still got it though. Waiting to run the tread off my stock 2014 Silverado tires so I can put the RC level/lift sitting in my garage on with some new shoes. The Duramax is looking good. Keep at it. I’ve enjoyed watching you’re builds come along. Thanks for sharing.

      It’s just okay. Turned all the way down is the best. I like the looks of it higher, but since this truck sees 90%+ dirt road I leave it on the lowest the torsion bars can go.

    In regards to upper control arm, there are 2 ways to determine driver and passenger side. They do put notches under ball joint caps. If toward frame then that is driver side, RC to front, also there is a flat spot on under side of one are those always go toward rear.
    Unfortunately in this video, he installed wrong causing less clearance to bump stop.

    Just installed same kit in my 06 GMC Sierra 2500HD. Driver side was no issue, passenger side was froze up at the key and also lower control arm. After beating both ends to death and liberally spraying with blaster the bar was not budging. So I took the torsion bar tool and a 1/2 inch 11/16 socket and put the tool across the top of the cross member. It will lock in to the round hole where the torsion bar comes into the key on the front side of the cross member. I put the socket on the post which pushes your keys up . After getting it lined up as best as I could i started cranking on it and was able to push the torsion bar out. I watched your video about using a bottle jack and that gave me the idea of using the torsion bar tool. My smallest bottle jack is 20 ton so that was not an option.

      @@Zack7228 CV angles not far off from original. Truck rides well, pretty impressed with their shocks as I had bilsteins on before I put the RC kit in. Overall I can't complain, kit was well worth the 699.00 I paid for it.

      @@johnnybravo1022I know it's been awhile but I'm just curious if you had any problems getting enough threads to install the nut on top of the front shocks. Looked like this guy couldn't get the top bushing on so just used the washer and nut. I am having a hell of a time trying to compress the first bushing enough to install second bushing, washer, and nut. Used my jack under lower arm, no luck. Any advice? Thanks

    • @johnnybravo1022
      @johnnybravo1022 11 месяцев назад

      @@benzoil0453 Hey whats up. Don't remember having any issue putting the shocks in. The only problem I had was getting the torsion bars to break free because they were rusted in both front and back. Your best bet would be to call rough country support and see what they have to say. Everything went in pretty smooth after I got the torsion bars to come loose and got the keys out. Still got the truck and haven't had any issues with tire wear or rough ride. When you get it completed make sure you get an alignment done. Call their tech support they should be able to help you out.

    • @benzoil0453
      @benzoil0453 11 месяцев назад

      @@johnnybravo1022 I've actually had the lift for over a year. 4 wheel parts installed it and the top bushings I'm having trouble with installing wore out on the first set. Rough country sent me a new pair because they don't sell replacement bushings. Called them yesterday and they told me I just have to find a way to compress the bushings enough to get top nut on but I just can't get it. I cracked lower control arm bolts to hopefully get a little more play when jacking it up but still not enough, though I could loosen them more. Not sure how that would effect torsion bars or not, as they do run through the lower arm. I just don't know much about these trucks honestly. I'm better with working on my toyotas lol. Frustrating cause I'm so close to getting the nut on, but not quite enough threads showing. Tried getting a c clamp on it but too awkward an angle. Anyways, thanks for the reply and I'll just keep after it.

      If the stock torsion keys were already cranked, you would really only see 1-1.5" of lift with a 3" key. The aftermarket key just allows more lift than stock.

    Called Rough Country for my 3 inch lift, For the upper control arm you can determine the driver / passenger side by taking the ball joint cover off, there will be a notch. If the notch points to the frame it is the driver side control arm, if the notch points to the wheel, it is the passenger side. The casted "RC" logo ends up towards the front of the truck on both sides if it's installed correctly.
