Well seems that from Nets perspective, Mikal is someone that is untouchable just like Rocket's Core Six, forget about trading for Mikal Bridges, deal with Memphis trade down to No. 9, marcus smart and future assets if they offer, and if they got lucky, they can still get Reed Sheppard in No.9 or Castle or Ware

Outstanding pod Jackson. didn't change my mind not even a little bit. keep the picks. I been waiting for you guys to hookup and do one of these pods. enjoyed it. I think it helps some fans to understand the perspective veiw of both clubs. it comes down to not only how Bridges is veiwed, but also how the value of the picks is veiwed. IMO the picks hold more value than Bridges. even in the best case outcome for Brooklyn next year ( make the play in ) it would leave us with a pick in the teens as opposed to the twenties. in such a deep draft there will still be high end talent there. in the worst case for Brooklyn next year and the pick could be #1. based on what I see in Brooklyn I think that is a reasonable gamble. the east is weak, but there are teams in the east who will be better next year. outside of divine intervention I just don't see Brooklyn as one of them. there are no guarantees, but as we wait the pendulum swings in our favor. as for the picks for picks swap I'm against it. as I said last time the Suns might explode, but Brooklyn has already exploded. you can't assume the Suns will have the same level of incompatence as Brooklyn. the way these picks have worked out so far leave me with no complaints. when someone gives you a gift you shutup and accept it

I'm hoping that all this trade talk is some type of smoke screen....that Stone is actually coming up with smart ideas. Also I think we should stick to our current roster (who should get us to the playoffs if healthy) and make trade and resign decisions around the trade deadline. Im open to trading down with our first pick if we stay in the top 10. I think we should prioritize drafting Star or Sheppard but wouldn’t be that upset with Clingan or Castle. Mikal bridges is not gonna move a needle as much as Dillion brook. So Rafael stone Give us Donovan clingan. Every analyst sees brooks Lopez in him meaning he has the potential to be a good 3pt shooter, as well Rudy gobert, a very good shot blocker and very good rebounder. That’s a reason Memphis grizzlies want clingan, unfortunately I don’t think Houston Rockets are seeing that. You watch how the Celtics smolder the mavs, with porzingas unguardable. That’s why you need a Clingan…you run those Celtics shooters out of the 3pt line and they would meet a brick wall in clingan at the rim to block shots.Houston please quash this trade ideal.

Another way we can benefit is to play Phoenix off of Brooklyn. What if we have interest in getting Durant for a package of Brooks, Smith jr., #3, Brooklyn’s 2026 1st, Tate, and Landale. This saves Phoenix from potential disaster and gets them out of cap hell while keeping them competitive this year, and going forward. It also thus would screw the Nets’ hope for any sort of high draft help over the next six years.
The only reason I don’t want to do this is that it legitimately helps a team out of a bad situation in our own conference. But who has any doubt that if Durant is healthy that the Rockets become at least a middle-of-the-pack playoff team next season? I can see Durant’s game, if he remains healthy, aging as gracefully as James’s has without necessarily dominating the ball away from the other guys we’re trying to fully develop.
Truth is though, I’d rather get Bridges for a package of Brooks, #3, their 2026, a Houston unprotected 1st in 2030, and two second rounders.
You can make the argument to both teams that they’re going to lose out to the other team for balking at the proposal.
