It’s all about confidence. Young guys need to be trusted to take 20 shots and have off nights. Bari needs touches and needs a coach that lets him build that confidence. The reward is a 20 and 10 power forward that is only 22.
Its not a horrible trade idea, but no need to trade Jabari yet...just give Tari more minutes...we are 8-4 regardless, and it wont be Cam Johnson to take us to contending level anyway
I'd be worried about Cam Johnson's injury history. He's never played 70 games in a season and he's 6 years in. I want to see jabari off the bench before he gets traded but I like the idea of getting a plug and play big wing
People like you are annoying being overly attached to a player who clearly is busting and hurting the team smh rockets need to trade bari for a shooter
I was watching bulls yesterday and i thought about zach lavine. I think his mindset and attitude is not fit for winning basketball but you cant deny that he is one of the best scorers in the league which is rockets need very much right now. And i dont know what you have to give for that type of player.
Jabari has always been more theory than actual player. His defense is the same as it's always been. He got blown by easily his 1st and 2nd seasons just like now. That said, Jabari has value in certain lineups, particularly as a small ball C paired with the Terror Twins. 2 or 3 years down the road when he does put on 20lbs, C will probably be his full time position.
Right now, some of Houston's players are definitely usable in superstar trades. So why would they pursue this ridiculous trade when they could bring in a player of Yannis' caliber? We say the players aren't in good shape, but most of them aren't injured. This makes them a serious asset to teams. It wouldn't make sense to spend players even on an injured superstar. While they are one of the few teams that could probably get a good player after OKC, such ridiculous trades could be made intentionally to set up a bad team.
First, you need to look at the roster. Your 10 man rotation is Sengun/Adams, Smith/Eason, Brooks/Thompson, Green/Cam, and FVV/Reed. Sure, players can play other positions like Smith at center, etc. Second, Udoka was very clear that minutes would have to be earned. Cam was sent to G League to work on his game. Smith has seen his minutes reduced. We fully expect over time that FVV and Brooks will move to the bench as the young players improve or to greener pastures. Third, at 6'7" who does Robinson replace? Brooks? Thompson? Eason? He will have trouble cracking the lineup, even without Cam. And giving up Landale for cheap is not smart. Adams is still trying to work his way into shape coming off a long injury. Best to sit back until the deadline and see if the Rockets can get a better deal for Landale. Fourth, as for Johnson, he is a lesser version of Eason. And Eason is sitting on the bench? Plus giving up Smith eliminates the option to go with Smith at the 5. Fifth, the Rockets are 8-4 and in the playoffs right now. It is not the time to tweak the team with role players. Let the team continue their development, actually make the playoffs. Look at the tweaking that the Thunder did after last season. That makes sense when filling out the roster. Their big problem is that Holmgren is fragile and their backup Hartenstein is injured. Rockets need to finish their development before making the tweaks. Sixth, for the future, the Rockets will need to add a young center, wing, and a point guard to replace Adams, Brooks, and FVV. No rush now unless a significant upgrade comes along.
We don’t even have room for Cam whitmore. Who are we trading ? We need to consolidate players. We need one move trade 4 players for one star player in return. I would like to see Jabari, whitmore, Tate and one more for a superstar.
There is no point in making a trade unless you think that trade makes you better than Cleveland, Celtics etc. I think we play out this year and see how we go. If we get jabari on a small contract because this year has been a bust so far. That’s a huge win
A week ago I might have gone with these trades but not now - I really want to see what this teams - as is - can do. I think our guys will get their shots back and to me Landale just seems to fit. Probably not this year, but eventually Udoka will open up the offense and Jabari will get his shot. I'm sure if someone offers us something stupid Stone would accept the trade but to be honest I am really liking these guys as they are - and I don't want to mess up the chemistry. Think about it, they are 8/4 with no outside shooting, that is incredible. I want to stick with these guys for while and see how they mesh into a team. Ask this question again at the trade deadline.
@@greglyon1402 Yea, if they stink up the place tonight I will probably be wanting to trade Jabari for a 2nd round pick and a cup of coffee. I was really inspired by how they came out and played in that game. I said to myself, they are 8 and 4, why should I be upset?
Good pod Jackson. while I do believe Jabari needs to be replaced in the starting lineup, I don't believe the Rockets should over react and trade anyone at this point. we need to get Cam back from the G league and get him some minutes. If we trade it has to be for a impact player not a band-aid
I say we keep Jabari, offer him a fair but affordable contract extension alongside Tari to where both are within the 15-25 mil range per season and capitalize on Jabari not having the best year 3 (assuming he plays similarly). Hopefully then we keep for fair price and pray he pans out into his extension years lol
Pre draft, Jabari Smith was spouting he should go #1 over Banchero-Holmgren--sidenote-Holmgren gave Orlando the cold shoulder in pre draft interviews-even with his Gonzaga friend Suggs there (Holmgren wanted to ride the riches in OKC) also, a player thriving on new team is Brooklyn's Zaire Williams after Memphis gave up on him
The Rockets are honestly really loaded, and it sucks they don't use Tate as often, that dude is literally a PJ Tucker-type player that can run all positions.
I mean didn't we draft Burt Reynolds' grandson for a reason? (what's up w/the Cam we got?) I don't think Robinson can get steady mins. under Ime. Buy low, sell high if you sell at all. Odds on Jabari are good and you can't teach height. Having Adams tonight would help give us a diff. look. Lue wants to play faster and past the first punch, expect them to do less hunting and more staggered floor to break the pressure and go.
We don't need to trade no dam body. Let these young guys play and continue to grow together. If anything we need a new dam couch, there is no need for cam to be playing in the G League right now. He should be on that court every night with the rest of the young guys playing and developing!!!
Build the team around Terror Triplets: Tari Amen Alpy!!! We need to go after a PG who can shoot. Possibly, Booker or Lillard. Imagine Devin, Jalen, Amen, Tari, Alpi. But I love Cam Johnson idea.
If Jackson was a GM he would mess up trade deals big time, please what’s the difference between Duncan Robinson (who can’t defend) and jack Mcveigh Who can’t get minutes? The trade that make sense is the Rockets trading for cam Johnson for Tate, landale & a 1st round pick. Cam Johnson would easily be starting ahead of Jabari. Then we will have Jabari,Eason & Amen from the bench. This could help bring out the best in Jabari, bcos he would be playing with less pressure. Don’t forget the Rockets still have an open roster spot worth $5m
Man Can Johnson would fit like a glove on his team not only he can shoot but he can get to the rim and he a good defender. Problem with Cam is that a lot of teams will probably want him and the Nets will raise his asking price. At best I would give up Two First round picks for Cam. But the Nets might want 3 or 4 picks and one of our young guys. So I would say yes to Cam Johnson depending on how much the Nets want for him. Duncan Robinson I would consider it, if the Heat continues to be a mess I say go ahead and see how much the Heat would want for him. So those are two options I would consider getting depending on the cost. Great video Jackson
1st of All Tari should almost be UNTRADABLE. If we trade anyone, maybe Jabari because as much as I like him as a person, he’s not showing much in his THIRD SEASON
Man it suck’s man I’m such a big supporter of Jabari man but gosh him not being able to shoot rn is killing us we drafted him for this reason I still believe in him I know it is frustrating but I believe he will get this fixed he just needs to get out of his head and be confident in his shot but if this keeps up I wouldn’t be opposed to Jabari being on the bench for Tari even though obviously Tari is playing better
Trading bari for a shooter is the best move, bari is busting and hurting the team. We are tryna win no reason to keep him. SOME OF YALL NEED TO STOP BEING SO ATTACHED TO PLAYER.
If they wanted to trade for a shooter they should have done it last season. I wanted them to go get Caruso. Now unless it is just vets it would be a mismanagement of resources. And people turning on jabari is ridiculous too. People still don't seem to understand development.
Jabari hasn’t been good but trading him and Adams for Cam Johnson is just bad value. I don’t like the idea of us trading for any kind of a role player. I know not everyone is with me on this one but I’d trade Fred + 2 firsts for Harden if Clippers were to trade him. We desperately need someone who can actually find open guys behind the arc. It makes me so mad seeing so many open 3s not being shot because of the lack of vision from our ball handlers. Reed is the only one who can find those right passes but he’s also the only shooter in this team so nobody is there to find him when he’s open😭.
Mcveigh is the same as Duncan Robinson. A great 3pt shooter who is below average defender 6ft 8” 38% 3pt shooter- why trade for that? Play Jack. Absolutely no to the Cam Johnson trade.
We only had 1 terrible game. We would literally be 11-1 this year. Rotation just need some adjusting. No lineup change just minutes. Next year change it up. Or second half of season
Duncan Robinson last time i check has zero defense main reason he lost minutes in his time with the heat id rather us slug it out and be defensively sound than have a shooter getting picked on like they do reed. And cam is too injury prone with little upside at least we all could see Tari’s impact and just was hoping he stay healthy can’t say the same for Cam.
Lets learn from the Bucks and dont get guys who are sidegrades. The Bucks brought in Dame Time for offense but forgot they lost their perimeter defense. Cameron Johnson may be a good shooter but he is a horrible defender. Rockets are winning with what they have its dumb AF to mess with whats working. Always having the trigger finger for trades and always giving up on prospects too soon look at Morey on the Sixers and see how that approach turned out for them. You dont buy high sell low thats just common sense.
Back to the jabari Smith Jr you guys just need to relax these are kids growing up in front of our very eyes trying to pick an apple before it's ripe and fully developed calm down I've seen many players in the NBA go through slumps cam Johnson is a great shooter but when jabari grows into who he is as a player don't say I didn't tell you so don't give me a like because you know I'm right give me a like because you know I know you wrong

The craziest one I saw was Jimmy Butler to Houston and Tari Eason , Cam Whitmore and a first round pick to Miami
I decided to sent hate on that post
He’s old
You can’t trade Tari. I think they’re trying to keep him in the bench so they can get him into a manageable contract
No way. J Butler is old and injury prone.
My concern is we trade for shooters but the coaching staff wouldn't be able to maximize/utilize them.
I’m good with moving Jabari
No need to trade just rotations needs changing. And team needs some new Offencive movements and regulations for Jabari.
No team definitely needs some 3 point shooting. I thought reed would give that but he is a rookie at the end of day.
Nope get him off the team, we shouldn’t have to change for him he is a role player at best
Touches ain’t gonna fix Jabari smith. And let’s be honest, his defense ain’t even good

Sorry to say Jackson but I think you might be a little bit ahead of yourself
2 players I was looking at was Ochai Agbaji and Corey Kispert, or a last choice maybe Royce O’Neale
