Got the Honma TW-X irons and they are a dream. When I got the I was just walking by and saw them and thought they looked amazing and hit them and fell in love. Honma was never on my radar till that day.

I‘m quit lucky to own a full Honma Beres 3star iron set and a full set of forged Titleist tour blades, 2 total different worlds. The blades are much more precise, but they have no mercy. As soon as I‘m unhappy with my game I use them.
On the other hand the feeling of the Honma is incomparable to anything else, you can’t describe it in words. It‘s just crazy.
I paid 6000€ in 2010 for a new set, but it‘s totally worth it. I play already for 28 years now, and I only bought 2 sets and I still use them on a weekly base.
All the poser that I see on the driving range with the new newest Tailormade/Callaway set are speechless when they hear/see the performance of the HONMA, and they are long-lasting, so it cost me less.
Don‘t get me wrong I always had, and still have Callaway/Tailormade Woods! I got stuck on squared ones (FTIQ 1W, FTI3W/5W)

I used to live in Australia in the 90s and Honma were very popular. Probably because other mainline brands such as Titleist and Mizuno were less available and considerably more expensive.

Sold my Mizuno JPX 919 set. Bought the Honma XP-1 set (5i - 11i). Shafts are 68 gram Sakata (Honma made) graphite. My handicap dropped 4 strokes. Purchased the set new from Maple Hill Golf, USA. $549, free shipping.

I owned a set of Taylormade RSis previously. I got a proper fitting and one of the irons I tried was Honma in addition to the regular available brands. I fell in love with the feel and performance of the Honmas. They were expensive but I thought of this as an investment since I was fitted properly. Still love them after five years!

I own or have owned many brands of top line clubs.
Best thing I can say about Honma is, most beautiful and also the purest I’ve ever struck.
Outstanding turf interaction and distance control.

Good Morning! The reason why is, because the people are having tomatoes on her eyes and do nit see that they are victims of marketing campains. Do anybody know where taylormade for exampke forges his blades/irons? In which factory? At the end high qualuity irons are manufactured by japanese companies, maybe by miura who are forging a container full of clubheads for other brands (titleist? Taylormade?...) . And hinma is one of the absolut premium companies who are forging irons in a standard other never reach. I own a set since the 1990s, and the complete set was made so exact that the weight of each single club was in a range of 1/10 gramm. Honma is producing the set totally in his company and not selling heads to a shop who is assembling the set with shafts and grips - all this is done by honma and absolut exact. Miura is sending heads to shops and fitters who build at the end the club, but also in high quality so that at the end these two companies are building on two different ways absolut high class quality clubs you never get at popular brands.
Lee Trevino won in the 1980s the masters with a honma persimmon driver and I know tour professionells who used honma irons/blades for privat because of the quality. One of the problöems honma has is, that asian people are shorter in size than european or us people so that the length of a irons is a 0.25 inch shorter and the lie more flat. If you make the club longer, the swing weight grows up and many people do not like this - at the end the size of a us brand is more made for the people in the west world. Mizuno now changed at the new series this and the clubs/irons are as long as the irons "made" by taylormade or titleist. Maybe hinma also should do this step.
Thanks for yor neutral view on good golf clubs! Stay safe!

My experience with Japanese niche brands since getting into trading clubs in Australia is as follows.
Bought a maruman set, beautiful looking cavity backs with golf inlays but could never find the model, bought for $200, sold for $700 after a few months.
Just recently purchased a set of Fourteen TC 660 irons for similar price, will be interested to see how much they sell for, but also how long it takes for a person to buy. It's a hard sell at the price vs all the big western brands and thier marketing and advertising.
