This is such a great find and piece! My dad grew up in Bar Harbor and I grew up sailing out of Southwest Harbor and would often tack up Some Sound and spend the night in Valley Cove. It's my favorite anchorage at the Island as well, although Pretty Marsh can be nice as well. And Somesville, at the head of the Sound, is as "quaint New England" as you can get. I've been sailing out of Southern California and Catalina's wonderful, but... the Atlantic tang and smell of pine is really missed. Hunh, must have something in my eye, can't imagine why else they'd be getting misty...
Oh wow, that is so cool to hear your positive experience there too! Well, hopefully we will be sailing up there once more aboard our new charter program 😍
Brings back some great memories. My grandfather had a Cape Dory moored in Kittery. We'd spend weeks at a time in the summer sailing between Kittery and Roque Island(about 40 miles further down east from Mt Desert Island). Always loved sailing up the sound to Somes Harbor.
We love Maine! Casco Bay is great. Falmouth desperately needs a mooring map….don’t try to find a transient at night lol. We are in the Boothbay Harbor for now. How was BarHarbor?
This was the one, but looks like it's no longer available. I'm sure you could find one on there that's similar. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X7TSGTY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
did you have to pay for the anchorage? if not, are there many anchorages around the Maine islands that you don't have to pay for and is there a time limit to the stay? thanks

A mooring map would be perfect! Bar harbor was really pretty, but not a good spot for mooring. Thanks for watching!
This is awesome man!
Haha glad you liked it!
Gorgeous spot, Maine is definitely a state i want to visit...
It's beautiful! Highly recommend it 😊
Awesome spot, what brand is the dry sack backpack you guys are using in this video?
Thanks for watching! Not sure the brand, it was a cheapo amazon purchase, so nothing reputable. But it does work! 🥰👍⛵
Right on
