I just switched from the gen 2s and maaan the bass. Once I learned the bass was so powerful, it ruined literally everything. I was so disgusted I hope the A50x are better.
I had the OG A50 from 2013 on PS3, i dont currently use them but they still work if i get them out the box. I also have OG A40's from about 2015 and i still use them. These will last you a long time and when you think of the price over those years...and the hours you use them gaming...the price isnt that bad.
Yeah, I'd rather pay more upfront for high quality and high durability once than buying several inferior quality products that break down along the way.
I’ve ran the A40’s since 2018 no issues ever. Just got my A50 X today and having a wireless Astro series headset is a game changer. Looking forward to the next six years. That’s what’s so special about the Astro headset. You can replace all the pads and you will enjoy the listening experience the whole time over the years!

My gen1 wireless from ten years ago. I’m still using everyday. The battery is fully degraded and they only last about 4hrs now but I just keep them plugged up mostly. But I loved your review
Looks like a holy grail of wireless gaming headsets with all the connectivity features and Logitech is always king with its wireless range. I wonder how the quality of the plastics will hold up though. In other words, I hope there are no plastic parts used at stress points like the hinge/swivel where the headband and the ear cups meet. If there is, Logitech better have those parts strengthened, especially when one needs to readjust the headset due to its fit on the dock. Logitech's hinges on the Pro X Wireless and predecessor G933 were prone to breaking after normal day to day use.
It's the same material they've used for like a decade or more and it is very durable there's reviews of people twisting and bending them like play doh 😂
tested them out for 2 weeks i ended up returned them because they couldn’t replace my steel series nova pro wireless and the steel series Sonar EQ is fantastic.
I recently switched from the ASUS Theta 7.1 to the A50 x. I only have PC, so I dont care about the multiple connections. I just want to say the following: I thought that there was impossible to find something better that the Theta (I had 4 sets as the break very easily), but the A50 X headset is amazing... the sound with the ATMOS feature is something out of this world. Playing COD with this headset is simply amazing.
The one downside of the newer Astro products Is not being able to have PC and console audio at the same time. Do these do it given you can plug both in?!
Kinda but also mostly no. The difference consoles are passthrough by being switched. So one at a time. BUTTT it does have simultaneous bluetooth, so technically you could have the PC using BT and console on the HDMI/Usb
Within the first 4 days, I revived a firmware update and Dolby Atoms no longer has sound on the XBOX with Dolby Atoms enabled. Before I updated the firmware it was working perfectly and then after the latest firmware update I no longer have sound. It says in the firmware notes that they improved HDMI for certain monitors and I believe it is this firmware update that turned a £360 headset into a paperweight. I've spoken to Logitech they will escalate this to the software team. Until I applied that patch it was fine now I have no sound on the XBX but I do via PS and PC but when Dolby At as is enabled no sound. Has anybody else experienced the same since the latest firmware update with the LG 4K HDR OLED TV?
@@kidbot1 It's under investigation with Logitech I've spoken to support and I advised them that I have purchased a new XBX (which I needed anyway as I've had mine from day one, it's 3 and a half years old) I purchased a new TV which again is nearly 4 years old and I was going to get a new one this year anyway and it is all connected correctly and still no sound on the XBX but there is sound with PC and PS. Everything wAs it worked fine for 4 and a half days from the time it was delivered it had a charge of 75% so it didn't take long to charge to 100% I used it for 5 hours and in total used it for 22 hours plus from Wednesday to Sunday as soon as I applied the firmware update which it did successfully with no errors the following day I had no sound even though the headset was assigned to thr XBX and Dolby Atmos has been assigned there is no sound. I've told Logitch it is either a faulty base station or the firmware screwed up the base station one of these is thr culprit because it isn't my side as I've got a new TV, new XBX and all new cables and no sound. I've told them to replace the base station or I will pack it all up and send it back to them and I will have a refund and go elsewhere and you've just lost a customer. Everything was working fine until I updated the firmware and then it stopped working only on thr XBX side nothing else just the XBX. Which has always bugged me? Why only the XBX? It's as though there is no encode signal coming from the HDMI port to the base station because the headset is showing as assigned but no sound that would point to the base station not being able to encode the sound signal. So it's either a faulty base station or ilth firmware screwed up the encode signal from HDMI.

Best part about openback is that you can hear yourself. Want wirless connection: fiio btr3/ btr15 or btr7 All prices listed in USD.
Audeze Maxwell I think is around $200 usd… I could be wrong. Are actually better than these. Only issue is that I heard the headband breaks… so yeah. You have dt900 (not my cup of tea) think those are $150 + wireless adapter = $250.

I have the A50X. I am using Windows 11 OBS Studio, with El Gato HD60X, PS5 and XboxX. When connected as designed, the sound from PS5 will not be available through the capture card, to OBS to streaming etc. I am not able to change/alter microphone, or game sound in OBS. “Not compatible with capture cards” (From Astro)
why don't you reviewers give weight to the microphone in bluetooh connectivity? I'm going crazy to find results like this. all of this is very important for those who want to play crossplay.
Because the A50X works as multiple audio interfaces in Windows. System volume is only relative to your primary audio interface. Because each level for game and voice mixes are completely separate it doesn't make sense to have the headset controlling the system volume. Most professional audio implementations also work the same way. They have a null system volume and the levels are controlled on the interface itself.

Quick question, can use this headset and ab able to hear from 2 connections at the same time. Like if I'm using my PS5 and my PC, can I be able to hear from both. This is literally "make or break" for me at this point.

that price is audiophile style pricing BUT it IS supposed to be a multifunctional unit. HOWEVER like i just said, for that price, you can get a banger pair of Audiophile dork headphones and have everything in one minus a mic which most gamers have already 90 percent of the time.
@@brunoboy98 I had Sennheiser HD58XXs. You don’t need a DAC(digital to analogue converter) for them but if you do have a DAC the sound is obviously better. They are open back meaning all sound bleeds in from outside and others can hear but the clarity is great. The 6XXs are roughly the same I think. Anything else you’ll need a huge setup for. Both pairs go on sale often on DROP
It's crazy to spend that kind of money on a headset and still face the wireless connection issues. Just get an Astro A40 with a mixer and make your life easier and enjoy the best sound quality possiable.

I use mine on PS5 with Tempest 3d and they work perfectly for shooters. I can hear things so clearly and early that it feels like cheating sometimes. Only initial issue I had was the sheer amount of cables just to connect to the PS5. It takes 4 cables but it works.

I thought products like this were great, then I picked up headphones like the HD 560S and I realised these are all over priced low-mid tier cans with software.
The docking issue is not just you. I have issues with it as well. I even switched the earpads to wicked cushions but that caused even more issues with not fitting properly into the dock, So I just stuck with the stock earpads. Still a really good headset, But definitely not perfect and I don't think it's worth the asking price.

Eh, the a50x is a great wireless gaming headset, but that's it. Earcups are to small to my liking, they perform pretty mid with music and movies. I am really happy with Sennheiser HD 490 Pro, they perform on all areas much better including comfort, except surround gaming that a50x is slightly better.
I got them....I am returning them...great headsets...but when I heard the mids and treble crackle playing pubg ...I took them off and put on my other headsets
Only 24 hours of battery life while the Audeze Maxwell has 80 and other headsets have 40 with hot swappable battery packs is kinda rough. All of those are also cheaper. The also don't have aux in to use like wired headphones (although the maxwell does is has to be powered on to work) and the base station HDMI audio is cool if you need it, it's just very bulky if all you want is a 2.4 dongle. Also I hate G hub. I have a G502 hero mouse and avoid it like the plague. Also if you want to wear these outside and use them as a daily driver headphone, they do look more gamer than other options if that bothers you. Plus some cheaper options have ANC and most ANC headphones are cheaper than this too. It's a no from me dog.
Really underwhelming headset and considering it took them almost 5 years to release it that just makes it even worse. Still no swappable battery and the fact that I can't play on my Playstation while listening to something on my PC (or the other way around) is just insane... also the comfort of the SLIM AS HELL headband is horrendous 🤣
Overpriced for niche features. Such a shame since I loved Astro, but I can't justify these. The Maxwells still sound better and the Stealth Pros have better features with comparable sound.
Maybe you should watch the video to see what makes this different to other headsets ;) There is nothing on the market that even comes close to the feature set of the A50 X

@@CoachGarcia lol not at all. I had both and kept the steelseries for better sound and dual connectivity. The charging system is leagues better, never have to worry about charging while gaming long hours. You can take these with you anywhere with the dac amp too.
The Astro a50x don’t work with my monitor. lol (Philips 279m1rv) apparently it doesn’t work with a lot of 4k 144hz monitors with a KVM switch. Sending them back as that’s just stupid!!

Its been an A50 thing forever, pull one ear pad out and no problem.
I also use Wicked Cushions on mine and went back to the stock ones. Zero docking issues for me with them but a pain with the Wicked Cushions.

Still no swappable battery and the fact that I can't play on my Playstation while listening to something on my PC (or the other way around) is just insane... also the comfort of the SLIM AS HELL headband is horrendous 🤣

Overpriced for niche features. Such a shame since I loved Astro, but I can't justify these. The Maxwells still sound better and the Stealth Pros have better features with comparable sound.
Audeze Maxwell is cheaper than the Astro and has better sound quality too. I wouldn’t recommend
Maybe you should watch the video to see what makes this different to other headsets ;) There is nothing on the market that even comes close to the feature set of the A50 X
When they're 80$ more they should have more features. But not everybody cares.100 Canadian dollars in my pocket and possibly better sound matter more to me. @@GearSeekers

@@CoachGarcia lol not at all. I had both and kept the steelseries for better sound and dual connectivity. The charging system is leagues better, never have to worry about charging while gaming long hours. You can take these with you anywhere with the dac amp too.
The Astro a50x don’t work with my monitor. lol (Philips 279m1rv) apparently it doesn’t work with a lot of 4k 144hz monitors with a KVM switch.
