That outro had me in tears because i remember when me and my uncle used to listen to Pantera on the radio in his truck…I miss those days and especially my uncle because he passed away years ago from alcohol poisoning
but never a good balance of all of them. Each individual moment on the record is eather too noisy, too dragged out or too slow. The balads have their moments though
I love how the record just kicks you in the face first song with out warning. Had it turned up and I wasn’t ready for it haha. So I will always remember the first time I put it on after I bought the cd back in the 90’s.
Hi everyone! This had to be re-uploaded because of some minor errors in the tab. My apologies! I have since corrected those mistakes and have revised the tab in Music Notes also for those purchasing the PDF tabs. Thanks for your patience. 🤘
Crazy thing is there's a video of Dime playing that Floods outro when he was still a teenager. That was just some lead riff he wrote as a kid that was sitting around for 10-15 years before he used it in Floods and it made it onto The Great Southern Trendkill.
yeah he wrote it for his gf , so she could play it on tape when she had trouble sleeping during high school pree sure or atleast thats the story i remember
@@minigungaming5915lotta guitarists/composers do that. Yngwie had most of his first album written when he was 17, Jeff Loomis wrote a lot of Nevermore stuff when he was 16
This song sounds like Pantera just took an old guitar that had been sleeping in a warehouse for 20 years, the strings are completely rusted, out of tone. But when played it makes beautiful and weird music... Pantera is genius. Thanks Mr.Tabs!
I dont know how to describe it but every time I hear that melodic outro it brings me to tears that someone who wrote something so beautiful was murdered. Rock In Peace Dimebag, you may be gone but your music will carry your legacy forever.
From one guitarist to another, I thank you deeply for all the time, effort, and dedication you put into your channel. Thanks for showing how to play these songs that so many of us enjoy! And man can you ever play well! 🔥🎸
Definitely! There's a link to our webpage in the description. You can add any requests you have there, if you'd like. That way we have them all in one spot!
Totally, Rex really underpinned a lot of Pantera’s sound, and it’s exemplified by how Dime is able to drop rhythm during lead parts and it still sounds heavy and badass.
i was asked what was “point of no return” for guitar. I said it was hearing Floods for the first time. The twisted riff, harsh vocals and heavier guitar parts. Sick chords in the chorus. The impeccable guitar tone. Then the first part of the solo. The bends, the squeals, so f ing perfect and beautiful. The entire solo you can hear his passion and heart. the emotion. You then realize that you are listening to the genius and technicality of a dam legend. You think that's it as heavy guitars and "DIE!" fade out... but then you hear the most beautiful construction of melodies and sound ever known to man. that outro. it brought out feelings and emotions i've never felt before. Hearing this during a difficult time in my life gave me so much hope. If I could create these emotions for others. Sharing this beautiful experience that music can do. Sadly i’ll forever be in debt to dimebag 🤘🕊️
With you I learned to play and evolve my guitar skills. The way you apply the techniques, for me it's more faithful, because you respect the musician, understand and study what you do! Thank's for everything, God bless you!
When i was a teenager i was on this kick about Vampire sounding stuff. The strumming prechorus part exemplifies what i mean . Much love thank you. Soundtrack of my youth. ❤❤❤
Here it goes again the friend!! You are an impecable guitar artists!! I really appreciate your response keep up the amazing playing. Wish you the best of success . Abrazo Mexicano!! 🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻
Thanks a lot for this video and tabs! To anybody struggling with the tunning (like me because i have Floyd Rose on my guitar) You can download an extension from the chrome web store called Transpose. Set the Transpose to number 2 and the Pitch to 0.58 (455.0Hz) with these settings the video will sound like if the whole song was in E Standard tunning. Keep rocking!
Great job as always! Thank you for inspiring to me to keep picking up my old guitar. It would be awesome if you'd like to tackle "War Nerve" for your next Pantera song, it's by far my favorite 😊
Where do you get all the cool gear ?? Not my favourite Pantera song but an awesome tab lesson...I'll be looking for you're ''Cemetery Gates'' lesson 😁👍🏼🤞🏼🎼🎶🎵
all of your videos are awesome! if i may ask, what do you use to get the tabs to play across the screen in real time? I would like to make some videos like this as well and would appreciate any help! thanks!
I love that solo. Pretty much the only reason I got hooked on that song nearly 3 decades ago.
Totally agree
I also love the bass under the solo Rex was a beast man
@@magnus1249 What do you mean was? hes still alive and kickin' 😂
@@polarxv4223 never said he wasnt just talking about him in pantera
I'm hooked on it at the moment

My condolences 🙏
I'm sure your uncle used to be a true fan of pantera
My uncle also died of alcohol man. It’s not a cool thing. It’s okay, they’re both at rest now.
They both are drinking a black tooth together now bro
My condolences for your uncle who had the most metal death possible
*"The Great Southern Trendkill"* was a complete package.
It had brutality, melody, intensity and atmosphere.
Hell yeah it did

Real. I had to stop playing for a month when I learned it cause of a wrist injury I got from playing it to much. My own fault.

@@joshuag1795 interesting, I never heard that before.
Crazy that a teenager wrote one of the most beautiful guitar parts ever
The ending riff from answers by Vai is also on flexable somewhere. I always thought he'd probably had it kicking about since he was a kid too

Very interesting tone on it for sure. We tried to replicate it with a chorus effect. Love the studio version tone. Dimebag really shines on it.
This is the only guitar solo that can bring me to tears even when I’m in the absolute happiest mood

The soundtrack to a band splitting up is normally a good one

OH YEAH! My favorite Pantera song! Outro is SO BEATIFUL!
My favorite solo of all time. A true masterpiece. The bass is really under rated, and it truly wouldn’t be the same without it

Way more bodied or powerful than the walk riff. That Whammy Groove is great. Interesting open chords. As always its spot on well done Brother.
The fact you were playing it on the CFH guitar made it that much more special to me for some reason. Bravo, keep it up.
Best guitar solo ever written in my opinion. Nailed it. Great job.
