As I guitarist myself, I understand how insanely hard, but do-able this solo is. It’s one of those things you can learn, but god damn you have to sit down for hours to even attempt. Not something any ordinary man could conceive. God bless Dimebag

I love this solo because it really isnt even super technical, at least for dimebag standards, but it still is known as one of the best solos of all time, understandably and rightfully so. Goes to show being a guitar good isn't about just being flashy and fast, but actual musical proficiency
He had his bag of licks but his feel and phrasing made it so iconic.

Phenomenal. You should be on tour with them instead of ZW. You nailed it. I honestly don’t know why they recruited Zakk. Zakk is great but he’s not Dime. There are a ton of RUclipsrs that have devoted the time to imitate Dimes style that I really think they should have employed guys like you to play his riffs live. I don’t know what kind of stage experience you have or if you’d even want to take that kind of honor on but you made a video and I’d rather see genuine fans of his play his parts than just another rock god filling a role. Anyway, love the video, man. I love this piece of music and it’s awesome seeing someone such as you respecting it. Imitation is the highest form of flattery so let’s all take a minute to learn a lick or riff from the baddest six string slinger that ever lived, Dimebag Darrel Abbott.
Wow, that's a huge compliment haha, thanks! To be fair - Zak was a good mate of Dimebag with the experience and credibility to boot. I personally would prefer to hear the tones and solos closer to Dimebag but it's a celebration of Vinnie and Dime at the end of the day and if I were Dime I would want Zak to do it. By the looks of it they are absolutely slaying it too. I have plenty of stage and band experience but nothing remotely close to be considered for this type of gig. But thanks for your awesome comment! Looking forward to seeing them here in Australia next month!
