Friend you are a class act , you covered this area with compassion and respect to the remaining residents you gave privacy and did not film them , more importantly to the people that did not make it through the storm 🙏, you passed by my totaled home and unlike other You Tubers you had respect for all of the residents, last month you made a live fishing video half a mile north I regret not driving to meet you , it would have been an honor , thank you Jose & Katie, GOD BLESS SWF ❤️
Just to chime in.. I own a home in Bonita Springs. However, I'm inland and had no damage. It's my second home but my daughter lives there full time. Anything near the water is MEGABUCKS! Let's just say, if you can afford to live there you can afford to rebuild. These aren't PUBLIC HOUSING. You'd need an income well above $300,000 just to even be considered buying a home here.
I agree. I'm more sad at the beaches themselves. Aka Sanibel and fort myers beach. The homes and businesses that are gone is sad. Hooters and DQ on FMB were my childhood playground. But everyone's so focused on the damn Yahts in the water and I can't help but think.. really? If you owned a house on the water, a business, or a yaht I'm sure you were rich enough and smart enough to have had insurance to the fullest. I'm not worried about a man's yaht. Our beach itself is destroyed. There's literally road in the water now. Luckily they fixed the bridge to Sanibel already for now but that was a huge thing too. So many more issues than these mansions.
AT the start, it was a building that recently got demolished, that's why there are pillars. it was a parking lot for a club. But still, that opening is what allowed what happened there to go down. It looks like the opening let the water flow back thru there and rushed everything back.
Thank you. My parents' friends lost all and were there 21 years. My Dad's place status is unknown. It's not much, but we traveled from IL for the last 30+ years. Knew many people. And you had talked about how people may get angry, but it is worse than that. Suicide numbers are up-which really breaks my heart. Terrible that people have the nerve to take advantage & steal other's stuff. My Mom passed 10 years ago, but she loved it there, so did her kids & grandkids. God bless those there.
The suge was something we have not seen in at least 100 years. Parts of our islands are gone. Including homes and buildings, roads washed away and bringes destroyed. It was insane
When I moved here from Missouri, I was shocked to find out you can’t record anyone in Florida without all people’s consent. Most videos online, you’ll see people continue to record regardless of another becoming a Karen, but in Florida, it is not ok to record people without consent unless it’s the police. Please look into it because people out here stand their ground on the recording law and it’s kind of crazy. When I first moved here, I had a family go off about me recording when my phone got over by them in the shot. I deleted it to be polite and avoid drama, but later found them to be correct when I looked into it. So weird.
We have friends who have a condo at Bay Harbor Club near the north end of Little Hickory, 10 to 15 feet of water in the lobby and elevator shafts. Hundreds of vehicles in the Intercoastal along with many of the mobile homes from the mobile home park which is directly south of their building. The two buildings that have a total of 104 units may have to be torn down as the damage is so severe.
Just a suggestion get some slip on boots to go over your shoes. Spray yourself with peppermint essential oil, insects hate it, It sent a mouse packing when I sprayed some on garage floor. Also Bring a slipover pancho. All of this can keep you well while your are out there. You want to stay safe outdoors. Gramma Toni cares about you. Much love in Jesus name.
really hard to watch this destruction. This is our second home we come there every year. Why all the idle construction equipment? The only way to get this back to normal is to work on it 24 hours a day
A guy I used to know lives right there in Bonita Springs, a bit north of Doc's restaurant on the beachside - he paid $3.5 million for his water-logged moldy mansion. lol
Wow pretty bad, we have been discussing what to do with my sister in laws house on West Riverside. The house is 55 years old and maybe best to bull doze it.

❤️🌴 when things come back to normal lets go fishing together or for a walk along the beach. Glad your seeing my good qualities and not my faults
Stay safe out there Jose and Katie....
Thanks for making these videos, it let's us see the total devastation of the area. My heart goes out to everyone.

I was just going to mention that. I checked it out on google maps. Just like you said. Parking lot for the club.

As the signs say(need more) you loot,we shoot".
Yes Jose they are saying up to 12 ft. now and it is looking more like a tsunami rather than a storm surge.
Great video man! This is absolutely terrible to see happen
I want to thank you for all these videos. My old home, Naples, was spared, but damn, the rest of SWFL is so bad :(
Thank you for sharing 😞
This is really sad.
The phone doesn't work right because the tower's are gone to
The boat rental business is up and running, we rented a boat from there a few days ago
Storm surge must have been phenomenal.
Your right it wasn’t a home. Still thats where the storm surge retreated creating a cut
The suge was something we have not seen in at least 100 years. Parts of our islands are gone. Including homes and buildings, roads washed away and bringes destroyed. It was insane
Be careful Jose. They said there's an outbreak of flesh eating bacteria in those areas. Don't walk in the standing water.
It is like you are doing a tram ride through universal studios CA
Wow, we got hit pretty hard in Punta Gorda but nothing like this. Unreal.
I really like how you didn't go into anybody property you stayed on on public property which is lawful
Now u know better than not to wear new shoes out there in that mess Jose. Maybe some rain boats, or crocs would've work?
Or beach shoes

My heart hurts knowing how so many have lost everything. They worked so hard to get where they did and now it's all gone.
So, so sad...

OMG! Horrible!
And you'll be able to find those cars on Carvana and the like very soon... watch for the deals! LOL
It looks a Mad Max Movie

Sir, this is a nightmare. Thats why katie and I left for sarasota for normality
Jose thank you for doing these videos. You do great coverage
The cell towers took damage. You arent being bugged. Mine worked sporadically until I had it reset at Verizon
So terribly sad

the land might be worth more than that now
Phones are not having a problem due to providers, etc. It's because they are re-establishing connections after the hurricane. This was on the news.
Was here last February, spent all day at the beach and driving around here, sad to see this.
Property will probably go very reasonable price wise , bargain day at Sears. Go figure .
IF they can get insurance upon purchase. It's either unaffordable or unavailable. Insurance companies leave every year.
@@scarlettferstl7020 try asking for a larger deductible, it tends to help .

New will always be worth more. I would wait to see if they change building codes because it could be a nightmare to rebuild.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS thanks Jose
Re: Your phones acting up. There may have been a blocking device installed in the area.
Why? Government?
Well there are important government officials out there that would make sence
NEVER have to explain your emotions .Any that makes a negative comment only shows they are less of a man than you are.
Wear your old shoes when you go to the beach after a hurricane. Duh!
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Boots on the ground good going .
I have a 5yo IPad Pro that will no longer turn on (happened right after I turned off it's data line). No more Apple products for me.
Change companies and get free phones or discounted.
Bad cell service
😰
I hope you can show us when they start to rebuild and the progress. We have vacationed there for the last 5 years across from Docs beach house.🥲
