    my older brother has been begging me almost a decade to get into magic he let me borrow the eldrazi deck he made and I wanted to keep it so I went out and got every eldrazi commander I could find and m building what I call the “void army” with colorless cards and it’s coming together ok…but lol it’s so many cards in this game man trying to look at EVERY colorless card ever made is doable but it’s a lot of cards man

I don't always get the cast triggers for the eldrazi in my atla deck mainly because I cheat them out with making eggs and sacing them while shes out, but I definitely make them hasty eldrazis as soon as they hit the field via rhythm of the wilds or samut tyrant smasher.

    I play eldrazi tron in modern and I argue that the best eldrazi in that format is kozilek, the broken reality, it hits at 9cmc which is perfectly on curve with temple/labyrinth into tron, hates cards from my opponents hand while both filling my hand, giving me and buffing my boardstate, as well as interacting great with kozilek's command making for an instant board of3/3's to go face with.

    Just made a Ulamog, the Defiler artifact commander deck. Consistently out by turn 6 if not 5, though 6 gives me time to set up protection, and on average got 5-6 counters on etb. Occasionally out turn 3 or 4 even. Plus with +1/+1 counter support he gets crazy powerful

    • @Ruined_Vigil
      @Ruined_Vigil 5 месяцев назад

      You'd need all the fast mana, the mox's, mana crypt, lotus petal, soul ring, arcane Signet. If you got eldrazi temple into mana crypt, soul ring, arcane signet, then use that mana to cast a sowing Mycospawn to fetch for an eye of ugin. Then turn 2 play any land or ugins labyrinth if you want to be overkill, then you can cast ulamog the defiler on turn 2. You could get this turn 1 though if you used the mox's but I feel like this example would be enough to demonstrate the craziness that is fast mana 🤣🤣@@MitchT97

    • @atherion6382
      @atherion6382 5 месяцев назад

      I built him as well, turn 5 where it's at with me, missing a few cards - mana crypt, ancient tomb and metalworker - but it works like a charm.

    • @MitchT97
      @MitchT97 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@atherion6382 nothing nicer than land, sol ring, arcane signet, then next turn land, Thran Dynamo into lightning greaves. Cause then turn three jeweled lotus to cast Ulamog and attach lightning greaves.
      Edit: I tried testing as fast and perfect a hand as I can. Even using all the best colorless ramp and a jewled lotus I can only get him out as fast as turn 3 with lightning greaves. Still good though.
      Edit Edit I figured out one way if you get 5 cards perfectly, so good luck essentially pulling a perfect turn 1 draw lol:
      Turn 1: Eldrazi temple (2) -> sol ring (4) -> Arcane Signet (5)
      Turn 2: Mana Crypt (7) or Ancient Tomb + Jeweled Lotus (10) = Ulamog, The Defiler

      @@BigTex65 well obviously not the true eldrazi because we don't perceive but a fraction of them with what we see when they're interacting with the planes but I like to believe that if Ugin and some Planeswalkers (that have either been compleated or defeated by the phyrexians previously lore wise) can trap the Eldrazi and interfere with them then surely the phyrexian oil can do something of a compleation like effect if not completely compleate them. Remember, all will be one.

    I don't get it.... Ulamog, the Defiler is BY FAR the strongest Ulamog there is as it can be broken as easily as by turn 3. Most people ignore that his ability with entering with as many counters is NOT linked to his cast. It's only the exiled library not the counters. Also Ulamog does not have a reanimation-clause.
    So in vintage and commander (although highly unlikely to have that curve in commander due to decksize) you could cheat him out by turn 3 (T1 Green, Deathrite Shaman, T2 Dark ritual, buried alive, T3 Reanimate / necromancy and so on) - while yes, he is "easier" to kill with ward, 2 permanents is a massive thing especially when you cheat him out that early. I wouldn't want to face a 17/17 annihilator 10 (ancient stone idol removed with deathrite) by turn 3 when I only have 2 or 3 lands.....
    New Kozilek the best Eldrazi Titan commander? yes. Although I Azlask is the best Eldrazi commander

    • @rG1vZ
      @rG1vZ 5 месяцев назад

      nah that ulamog is overrated af lol
      that exile half the library doesn't win a game by itself. if anything it puts a big target on your face. it's also not that hard to remove, saccing 2 permanents in edh isn't that big of an ask, esp when the alternative is annihilator a fuck ton.
      haven't tested azlask, but the best colorless eldrazi commander is kozilek great distortion imo.
      in theory ulalek> azlask

    • @atherion6382
      @atherion6382 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@rG1vZ I have built the new Ulamog, true, he doesn't draw cards but you can just recast him over and over and don't have to include many other wincons in the deck. I have him out by turn 5 in most games and by that point ppl don't want to sac 2 permanents, you can even play a bit of politics. Great distortion is still the best but defiler is def not overrated.

    As a commander? Pfft. I put Eldrazi in my 99, specifically as boss monster payoffs for Ognis. The deck's plan is to generate a bunch of Haste tokens, get in (if they die, big deal, I'll make more), and make treasures. With those treasures (either by sacrificing them or via Inspiring Statuary), I sneak out an Eldrazi titan _waaaaaay_ earlier than I should. And then go Swiftfoot Boots / Lightning Greaves to give it Haste for some immediate Annihilator action. The Eldrazi also protect me from infinite mill combos, just as a bonus, something they can't do from the Command Zone.

    what's crazy is these are all ok commanders, but the best is the WUBRG Ulalek commander they just released and Zhulodok the annoying commander they released a little while ago. Both are pre-cons and highly recommended for anyone who can afford 200 dollars but doesn't want the hassle of building a deck, so they get these Eldrazi tribals and learn the game of magic the gathering at their own pace. Big creatures and some interaction go burr is a great starting place, but this is a bit pricey. Still, it teaches what each color does and what a deck devoid of color can accomplish in a casual commander format.

    It's definitely either Kozilek, the Butcher of Truth OR Kozilek the Great Distortion as the best Eldrazi Titan Commander for EDH. As both include large instances of card draw in the Command Zone which tends to be more valuable to a colorless EDH deck that what the other options offer. I personally run a high power Kozilek, Butcher of Truth as the leader of my colorless deck as the Annihilator 4 is back breaking for my opponents. I also like the ability to always be available to Draw 4 cards if I loop the Butcher verses Great Distortion's conditional draw up to 7. I find the counter ability of the Great Distortion good but it also relies on you having a matching mana value which isn't always the case. That being said if my playgroup was a little more prone to salt from Annihilator, I would probably play Kozikek, the Great Distortion as the commander instead and I'd likely swap some cards in out to better facilitate Kozilek, the Great Distortion as the commander.

    this is outrageous! not only is the wrong Kozilek chosen, but he also is the best commander? The great distortion is far and away the best iteration. Giving colorless creatures 3/2 is literally useless there are so many decks that go wide so much better than colorless tribal that if this is what you're playing for, you would be better off playing another archetype. The other Kozileks are also better value engines, whereas Broken Reality gives your opponents a choice that they will ofc pick the most advantageous mode. Free counters are busted, no ifs ands or buts. your opponents more than likely have limited removal, and you can leverage bluffing or having a counter to make grossly advantageous bargains at the table. DISLIKE UNSUB DO NOT RECOMMEND
    Joking ofc, but seriously I don't think you could be more wrong
