Netflix should have released the director cuts and not whatever mid movies we got or are about to get. Rebel Moon Part one performed well on Netflix so let’s see how part two does.
I'm a pretty easy critic...I try to find some enjoyment in almost anything I watch. However, Part 1 was unwatchable for me. In fact, I literally don't even remember if I finished it or a single plot point and that was just a couple months ago. If people are truly Zach Snyder fans that's cool...but for me it's like taking every worst aspect of filmmaking today and combining it into one director. I just don't get it.
I expected to hate Rebel Moon. Had zero faith in it, but I thought it was fun. It was an entertaining Netflix movie. Was actually surprised by how fun it was. Part two looks a lot more fun. I’ll give it a chance. I’m surprised part one gets so much hate. It’s entertaining.
I hate his overuse of bokeh shots that he's started to use like did in Army of the Dead, it literally hurts my eyes

I disagree the action in part 1 could have been so much better if the damn excessive slow-mo wasn't so freaking used! Jeesh it ruined like every action scene and listen I don't mind a bit of Zack slow mo but this was just too much
You just read my mind. Sad that the entire first film was slow motion. I'm a big fan of Zack Snyder, but I Kind of don't understand why the Zack has to have slow motion in every fucking scene..Just why. Jesus!

I think by this point I have learnt that I don't like Snyder's direction and "storytelling", so I will skip this and his future projects.
I enjoyed Rebel Moon but I hope the next one is better.

surprisingly zack wanted it to be R rated and intended a different ending but he and Deborah said the studio didn't give them enough money to do i but recently he said he talked with WB about it and the possible return of the cast to shot those scenes he orginally wanted to be in the movie.
We just need his directors cuts!!! That's it. Usually longer is better for Snyder. And we need those. Snyders Scargiver looks great
I don’t think this ever got covered on the show but Snyder has been using some big brained math to claim Rebel Moon was viewed by more people than Barbie, which I find very hard to believe just in general but he’s also specifically saying 160 million people watched Rebel Moon which is pretty preposterous if you look at Nielsen’s streaming numbers for the 4 weeks after Rebel Moon was released

Well Zach Synder confirmed both Rebel Moon 1&2 R rated cuts are coming out in August I'll be waiting for those as they'll be the official versions not the watered down Netflix versions now that we know that why should we even watch the PG versions
Chris Cornell and audioslave are awesome. Maybe not a great song for this particular trailer but still a great song. That is all
I knew it was Cochise from the beginning. I don't think it was awful music for the trailer. It's just a different version of the song, but we'll see how it plays out in the movie if it's in the movie.
When someone critics a trailer music, you know that its nitpicking
Snyder has some talent with the camera, and I really like Dawn Of The Dead. But he seems to have no idea how to make characters interesting. Everything has to look so cool, but the endless slow motion, murky and gritty CGI backgrounds make things look like a PS2 cutscene.
I love Zack, but Rebel Moon was a huge disappointment. Hopefully this one is better.

Zack snyder is great but he can't have his cake and eat it too. You can't write a 4 hour + script then have to edit it down to a bad movie. What did gus fring say? Never make the same mistake twice.
I was stoked for the first one, but it's really turned into an emperor-has-no-clothes moment for Snyder. I've half a mind to watch Part 2 without having watched Part 1.

I’m honestly just looking forward to the extended cuts of both that arrive end of summer. The versions of the first and part 2 we’re getting are the nerfed versions Netflix asked for to reach a broader audience, but it didn’t work for me. Snyder almost always delivers when his full uncut vision comes to screen. But I’ll be watching nonetheless.

It looks pants like the first one. And to split it into 2 parts with a lower rating followed by a higher rating version is ridiculous.
I wish they released the director's cut right away because the regular cut was just okay. I'll watch Part 2 but I'm not exactly jumping up and down for it.
To answer the question in the title, short answer: no it can’t.
I’m tired of giving Zack Snyder chance after chance to make a decent movie. I don’t care how cool his visuals are, the guy can’t tell a story to save his life unless someone else storyboards the entire thing out for him (Dawn of the dead, 300, Watchmen).
Very average film and you have to love in the trailer for the second film how all the bad guys in the corridor don't shoot they just stand there waiting for the hero to shoot them in order.

This is literally it, Zack is an awful storyteller. A PG-13 rating shouldn’t kill your movie if you’re telling a half decent story, otherwise your movie is only watchable for the violence and gore. The Dark Knight was a PG-13 movie let’s not forget, and many R rated movies can’t even match its intensity.
@@eap1234 they did. He’s open about in his interviews. Netflix wanted a film where families can watch. He agreed as long as he could release his cuts. So he said Netflix paid for a film but basically got four films out of their deal . So they got their money’s worth
@@emoney6692 well true, but big difference in bad storytelling and bad editing . All his directors cuts are like night and day. And with this being his Star Wars with heavy metal influence he loved growing up, I think that feel can only be seen in the directors cut

I actually liked Part One…mainly because of the expectations set by reading the negative reviews. Was it the best film ever and predictable? Of course not and yes….but I didn’t feel it was THAT bad. Looking forward to Part 2! ;)
It is pretty damming that Battle Beyond the Stars is a lot more entertaining than the first part of Rebel Moon. And that was a Roger Corman movie. Not really a guy known for good movies. But looks like he was a lot better at getting "inspired" by another movie.
Oh boy, this subject means all the Snyder fans will come out and we're fresh out of Copeium for them.

And if he won’t lesson to her he needs a teammate to work with to help him craft not just better stories but less slo mo! I knew when he did that zombie movie he was in trouble. When the man is good he’s good! But this…idk? But if he wants to destroy his own career then ok…

I don’t know what it is with the action movies and the fighting in everything lately, but it all looks like they’re dancing. Echo looks like shit because of that it all looked choreographed like they were dancing.

The trailer's music sounds good john, what really ppl care about is the movie and not the trailer so what's the point of good trailer yu liked but the movie turns out to be f..g awful!!
It looked like b-rate television trash. There was no momentum or ferocity in the action it was slow and pathetic.

@adamgatis741 Michael Bay is an actual respected film maker, who admittedly makes some silly movies but damn are they entertaining and choreographed beautifully. The Rock, Bad Boys, Transformers are all SOO much better than all of snyders work except maybe for Watchmen, which Snyder DID NOT write

Having watched Dune 2 in between the first rebel moon and this one, makes it even more of a travesty that this exists. Just a bunch of concept art strung together with slow motion.
If you’re in the mood for some sci fi that doesn’t stick the landing but doesn’t feel like an affront to film go watch “The Creator”

I finally tried the movie last night and yeah, it sucked. Stopped watching when they got to the bar.
This looks so generic. A lot of the characters seem similar to each other to the point where they all fight exactly the same with the same styles of fighting. Also a lot of the characters seem like duplicates of each other to the point where it seems useless for some of the characters to be in the movie. Last thing Zack doesn’t have a unique visual style from a major release movie. A lot of it looks and has the scale of a tv show.

Yes cause references to literature are solely what make a film "great". I like most of snyder films but this definitely lacked alot character depth and exploration. We don't get to spend time learning about this crew of rebels and their motivations for fighting against the imperium. Really disappointed with this film especially since I found army of the dead to be quite enjoyable.

@@Rony-LFacts. What I also noticed, and that includes “film critics,” is that half the time they aren’t even talking about the film, but the person who directed it. Then when something gets hated on, they just jump on the hate bandwagon like a sheep because that’s the trend. All over youtube there’s these clickbait channels just fake hating something because they know it’ll blow up. A lot of the vile, as you pointed out, truly comes down to people hating themselves, and they use that to take it out on other things. People who can’t create themselves are the first to hate something.
