      jetliFAN I stayed with my extended family in this area - people are flithy rich and mega bored. They throw around large sums of money just for the heck of it. My family was guilty of such lavish spending as well. Too rich for my taste, I'm a Queens boy lol.

    • @jetliigor
      @jetliigor 6 лет назад +2

      Well a lot of people who live in that area and Manhattan beach, it's very important for them to show off. It's a very "mine is bigger and better than yours" competition thing going on in those 2 neigbhorhoods.
      Speaking of filthy rich, mega bored and throwing around large sums of money just for the heck of it. One guy that lives in Mill Basin that I know of, his dog turned 2 years old and he decided to pay to close down a very expensive Russian restaurant for the entire day just to throw his dog a birthday party. His dog was accompanied by other family member's dogs and friend's dogs. The dogs had this own wait staff.
      Talk about spending money for something ridiculous and stupid.

      Sure it is but like very city in the Country, it has lower income neighborhoods, middle class and upper income. Most people who live outside NY hear Brooklyn and if you say you live there, they ask "how often do you get robbed". But honestly, living in BK is no different than any city. Miami for example, it's not only full of wealthy people there are really bad neighborhoods as well but for some reason when you think Miami, you're thinking only beach, sun and millionaires.

    This is probably the best house in Brooklyn or the whole New York City.

  • @jetliigor
    @jetliigor 6 лет назад

    The people trying to sell this house are desperate. They bought this house in 1996 for $12,950,000. Accounting for inflation, today it's $20,458,111.22. However, the price has been reduced from $30 million to $18 million and now to $13 million.
    So for $13 million, if this house is sold, it'll be sold at a loss to the owner. So to me it seems like the owner doesn't care at this point about taking the loss, they just want to sell it and get rid of it. However, as great as the Mill Basin area is and has many multi-million dollar homes, there are no homes selling for $13 million like this one and if you can afford to spend $13 million on a home chances are you'd want to buy an apartment in Manhatten not a house in Brooklyn. So that's the reason why nobody's buying. Nobody wants to spend $13 million on a house in Brooklyn, they'd rather buy a $13 million apartment in Manhattan overlooking central park.

    • @francismarasiganiii4549
      @francismarasiganiii4549 5 лет назад

      It was sold for $10 million minus the McMansion guest house addressed as 2387 56th Dr. The new owner put it back on the market immediately as a rental property but it was taken off becausw either they found a renter or they want the rental listing as off market.
