Not everyone is motivated by a giant house. It's nice and sleek but just doesn't have a homely feel. I think most people would regard a home as one they've created and had a hand in designing. This whole place seems done up and ready to move in. There is something cold about it and also it's just so large it would feel like living in a giant building. I'd prefer a nice small cottage by the sea any day over this.

Despite the beauty however, the buildings are so large they've got a very eerie feeling about it when you're actually in one. I've been so I know what I'm talking about. Now compare the old style beauty of historical buildings to the cold design of this building. And imagine living in it by yourself or with a small family. It doesn't compare to a cosy cottage by the sea in my opinion.
Houses like this rarely sell for asking price. Regardless, even selling it for only $100 million would most likely be profitable for the seller (despite the fact that you can buy multiple neighborhoods worth of homes for even that price).

Not everyone is motivated by a giant house. It's nice and sleek but just doesn't have a homely feel. I think most people would regard a home as one they've created and had a hand in designing. This whole place seems done up and ready to move in. There is something cold about it and also it's just so large it would feel like living in a giant building. I'd prefer a nice small cottage by the sea any day over this.

@Zersix, Whether I'm poor or not makes no difference here. I absolutely love the grand estates that you see in costume dramas. Despite the beauty however, the buildings are so large they've got a very eerie feeling about it when you're actually in one. I've been so I know what I'm talking about. Now compare the old style beauty of historical buildings to the cold design of this building. And imagine living in it by yourself or with a small family. It doesn't compare to a cosy cottage by the sea in my opinion.

Houses like this rarely sell for asking price. Regardless, even selling it for only $100 million would most likely be profitable for the seller (despite the fact that you can buy multiple neighborhoods worth of homes for even that price).

With some things you are right but in this case I think not... I don't find it very pretty or tasteful, the view is great, not denying that. But I'd much rather have something more homely and 250 mill for a house like that is too much and it will never sell for that, maybe 100, 150 but this price is just to set a record and not to be paid.
