Mukund tells us how after working towards building Zomato from a small start-up to an organization with more than 5000 employees, he decided to quit. As he shares, when you are not happy in a job, quit.
While he did enjoy working at Zomato initially, 3 years into it, he found himself getting stressed out daily. The high-pressure environment made him cranky and he decided it was time to move.
He then researched which start-ups he could work with. Looking through 40 odd startups, he found Urban Company a good fit.
He tells us how he expected friction in a startup environment and believed that having a good team was the best way to avoid stress. As a result, he started handling operations at Urban Company.
Next Mukund gives us a peek into how a platform like Urban Company functions. What is the business sense behind this platform and why do they train their partners extensively?
He shares stories about empowering people from humble backgrounds and helping them make more out of their trades. He also tells us how this is a rewarding experience for him personally and how it keeps him humble.
With his no-nonsense attitude, Mukund breaks through the clutter and tells it like it is. He shares how businesses like Urban Company can grow and thrive and how he thinks one should always do what one enjoys. This conversation is filled with humor, laughter, and serious doses of advice for all.

👉When you feel too much pressure, overwhelming you at work, realize it’s not a good place to be in.
👉Leaving your job is like a breakup, from which you don’t usually rebound immediately. You may need some time before you find the next right job (or partner!)
👉You have to realize everything is your problem in life; you can’t blame the world for your problems.
👉Don’t judge people, but do try to help people in your own way, through work or business when possible.

Please change the host... He seems not interested at all and looks like he is sitting there as a punishment meted out to him
C'mon dude you can't criticise one you can only give feedback i think most of us don't have even courage to take interview he is doing his job and certainly will learn and improve nobody is an expert from day one stop judging!!!

The question about why UC is not in Tier 3 cities was okay. But the follow up question of "Lekin VC ka paisa toh hai na?" is such a stupid question, bordering on rude. Mukund answered him with a lot patience, at the same time showing the host the sheer ignorance of the question.
Please bring kunj as the anchor . He is much better 🙏👍🙂
