I did not realise that I was as addicted to being busy before watching this. It is honestly damaging and the points raised in the video was a reality check. Just reminds us all the time that God has thought about us in every way and has considered every possible feeling and scenario in our lives. Now I’m lying down in green pastures wanting all my mouthy bills and Covid medical debt and student loans to go away.

Im on my back resting! Tired of pleasing the world instead of being me, dealing with my health too. Coming out of it ! Yep people run themselves into the ground. My poor father in law had to retire until 70 . Well he never made it . Got ALS and had two years of retirement while going downhill. It makes me cry so easily I thought it would change my hubbys point of view . Nope! But i think he sees it now. I tried chasing him and money for hin too know we boyh never made enough for his happiness. I even pray for him to get some things redeemed, such as money restoration but it just made him more materialistic. Its never enough. We have way more than we imagined, but its in retirement. He’s waiting until retirement. Yes earlier than father . But he has a higher number. To wait to aay he can retire. He has that insecurity. Its amazing that people that have that its never enough. I pray he will learn and let go we moved out her to la living with family. Trying to take his stressors away. Having security from family . But he waits. I quit working im done. Let it be what it will be . My hip and feet have said i am done . Yes he is making me lay down in green pastures. We are enjoying more tine together after five years of being apart. I remember praying to God knowing the things my husband will face with worth money success. I sais i will go to hell and back with him but please bring us out of that. I heard that inaudible voice. . I will be with you. It was amazing now 24 years later . Wow! I have resigned that worst case scenario God and I end up together out of this world. Peace. It really does cone from him . Jesus is the reason I am alive . Feeling worthwhile to people is what I seeked. Did not have the joys as a child as Rick Warren does with his children. God is my father but the past couple years have been testing people. Whether i get kicked out of all their lives . I am not a money earner. I swear it s the California way . Gotta make money its expensive thats for sure. God has a tattoo of me. Ha ha. Father help me to feel your love! How valuable I am to you . Its the only place I have felt valued loved by being me , maybe my sister too. Sometimes my Mom! Contentment isn’t natural to human interesting. Grabbing for more . Its amazing! Yep the massive Houses consumes the pleasure. But they are beautiful. God I have been trying to have my man stop comparing his worth with bank account. He isn’t overworking . But is restless. I am seeing am I enough. Challenging him his mother. I have been overcoming the fears of being accepted by my husband, his family. I have other places to go if he changes his mind that I am not enough. I didn’t used to believe that . We got married on valentines day . We are definitely in process of self love loving another. Relaxation is a spiritual issue interesting. 6 days a week why not 5 days a week. Remember they were probably working sun up to sun down or sometime before that. Pet sabbath. Ha. If you made it to the end of my notes id be surprised!!! God Bless You!!!

Great sermon, very applicable to everyday life. However, I thought the Sabbath was Saturday, the seventh day of the week. The Israelites in the Old Testament followed the commandments by keeping Saturday as sabbath, their day of rest and worship. Also, in the New Testament, Jesus and his disciples worshipped on the sabbath, Saturday, and kept is holy. “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
Exodus 20:8-11 KJV
Does it really matter which day you chose to be the sabbath?! Jesus died on the cross to eliminate legalism. He kept condemning the Pharisees who were very big on rules and regulations! Jesus healed on sabbath which set off the Pharisees to get a case against Him and crucify Him. Jesus’s main teaching was about love for God, self and others. I don’t think people will stay out of heaven for going because they went to church on Sunday and not Saturday and vice versa!
@@makenamucai104 I agree with your examples; however it was the ceremonial laws that were done away with when Christ died on the cross, not the 10 commandments. So why do we forget the only commandment that says to “remember?” We still keep commandments like thou shalt not kill or steal, or commit adultery. God established the 7th day Sabbath for a purpose, so we can rest in Him and be blessed. And ultimately, I want to follow what Jesus did, and he kept the sabbath on Saturday, and his disciples continued to keep it after him. Also, to be clear, there is nothing wrong with healing people on the sabbath, doing good on the sabbath and everyday is what God wants us to do. Additionally, I’m not condemning those who keep, I’m sure upon further study of God’s word, the Holy Spirit will give them discernment. God bless.

I am searching for it also. Nothing matches. We are supposed to test the scriptures.
I emailed Saddleback for a scripture reference translation. A member of the church team wrote that "Pastor Rick knows the Bible so well that sometimes he will share a verse from heart." Um, not only could I not find that reference in any translation of Exodus 23:29-30 but I could not find it in the bible at all. It is with much sadness that I need to be wary of his messages which have blessed me tremendously. We must watch out so we are not deceived. If the Lord spoke to him personally that is one thing. But you should not list it as a scripture.
@@hmhm4347 I agree with you here, be wary, I've noticed things in these teachings that are not right. I recommend Andrew Wommack for no nonsense practical teaching and lots of free online sermons and downloadable teachings. Some of saddleback teachings really are going to put new believers back under law rather than salvation through faith in the finished work of Jesus.
This guy is mis quoting the bible which is a blasphemy an keeps referring to it as "a sabbath" when god says "the sabbath".

He’s making up his own commandments! How can he do this. “Woe be unto pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep....Ye have scattered my flock...I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, sainthood the Lord” Jeremiah 23:1,2. The commandment are unchanging “Remember the Sabbath day...(v10) But the seventh day IS THE sabbath of the LORD THY GOD” Ex.20. It’s specific!

Well, I have a question. What if you can't afford to rest? What if you have a huge debt to pay for simply trying to better your life through college, only I am punished with borrowing? Been three years since graduation, and I'm bitterly shuffling papers over a desk in front of angry patients who can be verbally abusive? Tell me how can I rest when I can BARELY lower my student loans to a thousand less in one year? The interest keeps growing. I feel like I want to just to shoot my brains out becuase this battle will never end. If I rest, God will give me peace? God will supply me abundantly? Well, where is this blessing? I really need help with this. I have no choice but to overwork. That is the ONLY way I will earn a decent check.
Resting is a part of Trusting. It does take faith. But God is always trust worthy. Praying for you. God bless you.
Real rest and refreshing comes through praying in the Holy Spirit ... you are not required to keep a sabbath as a christian ... Jesus is our Sabbath ... God does not make you sick if you don't rest ... however you might become sick with minor ailments simply because of the stress you are under and the amount of work you are having to do ... that's just a physical fact because you have a flesh and blood body. Prayer helps with some de-stressing and trusting the Lord to help you, maybe change your circumstances and strengthen you so you can cope until then. I totally understand your frustration with some of these video messages because they sound so blase about the tough realities of life ... without giving any real help when the poop hits the fan. I'm a Christian but sometimes I find these messages don't help people who are in real need. I hope things get better for you and you get a chance to pray ... God knows what you are going through ... he is not condemning you for hard work ... try to fit in even half an hour's quiet time to just pray if you can.
It’s not truth that you’re breaking the Ten Commandments… the Sabbath is a shadow law… we aren’t under law we are under grace. Sabbath was for ppl living in the Old Testament… we are the ppl that came after Jesus and we live in the time of the church and new commandments. Our rest is much longer and better than the Sabbath
Why are you not preaching repentance in this last hour nothing else is more important than a person repenting of their sins asking Jesus into their lives to save them with so much going on in the world we should be preaching that 24 hours a day 7 days a week nothing else is more important than that at this last hour why do so many pastors keep preaching all of this foolishness that no longer pertains to life today we are in the last minutes before Jesus returns repent sinners repent of your sins ask Jesus into your life to save you or you will have eternity in HELL which do you choose eternity in heaven or eternity in HELL you decide but you better do it quickly for Jesus is on his way back for his people then the judgment of evil upon this Earth shall come along with the wrath of God you don't want to be here for that...
