    Five years after this was posted, it has blessed me deeply. I didn’t understand why I lost my anointing, but it’s quite clear to me now. In my grief and loss, I have been retreating..
    I’m grateful that the Lord showed me this video. His timing is always perfect.

      @@bloubrown802 For me, I allowed loss and pain come between my walk with Christ. “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it” Jeremiah 17:9.
      God is faithful, we just need to remain in Him every single day. I literally had to go back to the basics, “give us the day our daily bread” Jesus never left me, I allowed my carnal life circumstances to get in the way, instead of drawing closer to the Lord for His strength and comfort.
      “God’s mercies are new every morning” Lam. 3:22-23.
      I don’t know your circumstances, but He will never leave you, nor forsake you. Remember, we live by faith through grace.
      Trust in Him, not your feelings. He loves you so much and is waiting for you with open arms, like the prodigal son. But don’t wait too long because not one of us is promised tomorrow. I will pray for you. 🙏

    Talking about the goodness of God, I love God with all my heart,
    I was rejected by my family, abuse , tormented, kidnapped tortured in the most horrible way, executed left for dead, lost my family , and lots of money , put in prison for something that was not my fault , nobody wrote me five years not a letter from my family or kids , had cancer for long time nobody wrote or visit, that is just a little testimony , all I can say is that GOD IS GREAT, I thank MY LORD JESUS ,I am evangelist a servent of the most High GOD I thank God for everything that happen to me so I can help people in many ways,I am bless and highly favored , love you pastor will be nice to meet you one of this days , am 63 I serve God for over 30 years , but really seans I am 9 years old love you pastor

    As a woman, the putting of oils and creams on my head/face is a way that I take care of myself. This verse automatically makes me feel rich with love and blessings from Jesus when I hear it. Richer than any oil I could buy.

    I ask God almost constantly a day until I feel Like I am pestering him. I ask HIm almost on everything in this world. And I can assure you it is effective in the literal sense of the word.

    You don't lose the anointing of God moment by moment because you are nervous or even afraid.
    I had to speak in front of a large group of students in a Bible college class, a message I KNEW
    God had given me. I was nervous. Very very nervous. My heart was POUNDING as I sat on that
    stage waiting for my turn to speak. I sat there and PRAYED that God would help me. As soon
    as I took the microphone, I FELT God take over. I was speaking, and yet it was not just me, it
    was God IN me. It was AMAZING. The fear was completely Gone, because God was in control.
    I think maybe you are speaking about what you think happens, and maybe based on your own
    experience and assumptions, because what you said is just not true. You don't lose the anointing
    of God moment to moment! The anointing of God IS the Spirit of God who is in us from the time
    we are saved.

    What a brilliant sermon. Thank you Ps. Rick Warren.
    I have one thing to add or comment on that I feel strong in my belief of God's healing ability. We are healed by the stripes of Jesus. So you mention at the end that some don't get healed and others do and we will find that out in heaven (as you don't know why this is).
    I have the revelation about this and it is beautiful. We are all healed, when someone prays and anoints you and you get healed, you have your healing. Sometimes people o to heaven because of that same sickness but they have been healed, the healing just haven't yet manifested on earth. God's word says we are healed by the stripes of Jesus.
    I might pray for x and it might be a day from when x is going to heaven, but x has cancer and I pray for healing. X is healed when we pray and we believe that. The fact that God has called x to heaven the next day does not mean he is not healed, his healing is just only manifesting in heaven.

    God already gave us His Spirit if we belong to Him,. The anointing is simply God working in and through us to fulfill the calling.
    IF He has called us, He will do the work in and through us as we cooperate with Him to do what He has called us to do, assuming we actually are saved and do have His Spirit.
    Some people have gone into ministry before they were even really saved. One thing God tells us that we need to pay more attention to, is to not lean on our own understanding,
    but to acknowledge Him in all our paths/steps... ie pray for wisdom, discernment, guidance, and understanding of His Word and Ways. .
    God often reveals His anointing and calling to us before we are actually in it, just like He anointed David to be king while he was still a shepherd, and Elisha
    was anointed to be Prophet before he actually walked in that calling. Moses was called before he was born; he just didn't know it he spoke with God at the burning bush.

    God is not asking you to go around sleep deprived so you can accomplish His will. He also believes in team work. God doesn't call us to do His will entirely alone.
    This is why He gave us the body. This is why He calls some as Pastors, some as teachers, some as prophets, some as administrators, some with the gift of helps,
    some as workers of miracles etc., because His PLAN is not to use you to do everything, all by yourself. Are there some things that He has called you personally to do?
    Yes, of course. But He also uses the body as support, and many callings involve more than just us to accomplish. Imagine if Nehemiah thought he alone was to
    build and restore the Temple and the walls of Jerusalem all by himself. God did call him to get it going. But he did not do it all by himself. He had a team of people
    with various skills to help him. God has given us a team too; it's called the Body of Christ.

    Yes, Christ means the Anointed One. And Jesus, AS the Anointed One, did not just receive a calling from God and then go off and do it by Himself.
    Everything He did and said was God doing and saying it in and through Him. It wasn't Him having to come up with the plans. He did what He saw God
    doing, and said what He heard God saying. Other than that, God gives us a lot of free will , even to have jobs that have nothing to do with ministry, like
    making tents as Paul the Apostle did in between carrying out his calling. I'm glad Warren at least said that God gives the anointing to do what HE wants us to do.
    That's important for people to understand. And while I don't believe God calls people to do nails, or cut hair, or whatever, God DOES call all of us to be disciples
    of His Word and Ways, and to walk in His ways, and to share the gospel with people around us, to help them to come to God in faith and repentance .

      Hi Cris, here is the prayer for you!
      A Prayer of Faith
      If any one of you is sick you should call the leaders of your church to pray over you and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will restore health to the sick person, and the Lord will raise that person back up. And if they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a person living right with God has a powerful effect.
      James 5:14-16

      Dear Father in Heaven, you are a good and gracious God, and you have told us many times in your Word to pray for each other in faith. So we come to you right now, not because we deserve it, but simply to obey your commands.
      Jesus, you have promised that wherever two or more gather in your name, then you will be with us, and if just two of us agree to ask for anything in prayer that you will answer. So, as your children in need, we are asking you to keep your promises today.
      Father, my friend standing here needs your help, and I am agreeing with him/her in this prayer. First, I ask that you help him/her sense your grace and your love for him/her. May he/she feel your love right now.
      Next, I ask you to fill him/her with new hope and faith. Jesus, you said that with God, ALL things are possible. Nothing is too hard for you. So we are asking you to do a miracle. Do what only you can do.

    Sometimes even when you are depending on God, you may find yourselves fatigued anyway. We do have physical bodies, and they do need rest.
    Even Jesus had to go away from the crowds to get rest, because He would have been working far beyond His physical capabilities otherwise.
    God is not going to give you limitless energy; even Jesus needed to sleep.

    The "uttermost parts of the earth" ... that word can mean land too, and may refer to a region as well as
    to the inhabited parts of the land - it's not only used to refer to the entire planet. We don't even know
    that people were inhabiting North America at that point in time, or South America either. God could
    have been merely saying that they would be His witnesses to the uttermost parts of the land as
    the region they inhabited, though we know they understood God meant to have the gospel preached
    to all people groups before Jesus would come again.
    The disciples went all over the known Inhabited Earth though, and North/South America were not
    known to them. It wasn't impossible for them to go to the "
    uttermost parts of the land". As a matter of fact, it was implied that He wanted them to preach to
    all of Israel, as He said they would not finish going through the land of Israel (with the gospel) before
    His coming again. The apostles went all over the known world to preach the gospel, and I am sure
    they did not think it impossible, because most could be reached by land, and what they could not get
    to by land, they could reach by ship. I'm really not sure why you thought they could not reach Australia,
    there is land in between it and the larger continent, many islands they could have stopped at even, on
    their way. They used ships when ships were needed.

    God definitely can and does give skills to people, but generally doesn't call us to what we just decide to do as a career/to make a living, unless we are making a living
    in a ministry God called us to. I do believe that God will use our abilities, if we went to school to be a doctor or something, but to say that our "calling" is generally
    a secular job...? I think that's probably pretty rare. God most certainly can use us even as we are in our jobs, to reach people with the gospel or to minister to other
    people, but... I think it's a stretch to say that God calls people to be taxi drivers, or whatever....
    God can call people to work as representatives in our government, and that I can believe is a calling because of how important it is to the health of a nation to have
    godly people representing us. But does God call people to be nail technicians? God can USE us even while we work normal jobs, absolutely . But He doesn't care
    whether you work construction or in a salon, or a restaurant... etc. I do believe God calls mothers to be housewives. I believe this is scriptural. God wants US training
    and raising our children in His ways, not just placing them in someone else's care and letting people you don't know raise your child. That does not mean a wife can't
    work at something that can help the family out, but we are told in scripture that the wives should be keepers at home. A keeper is someone in a position of guarding and watching over
    the home, which naturally falls into managing it. Mothers are granted a huge responsibility by God to nurture their children and to teach them about God as well as helping
    them to learn good behavior , speaking, walking, etc. So yes I believe being a housewife is a calling from God, though some may be called by Him to do other things besides
    managing the home, if they don't have children, or when they get older and she is freed up to do more. That said, as long as the kids live at home, I believe it is the mother's
    (and father when he can) responsibility to teach them as much as she can about God's ways and help them to know His word, how to walk with God etc.
    God's calling is not about the job we do to make money so we can make a living in this world.. unless we are making a living
    by being in ministry. God did not call Paul to make tents - He called him to be an apostle, or "sent one" to reach people with the gospel, and to help build up believers to
    maturity in the faith. Did Paul ever do ministering to others while he made tents? Possibly, but it was not what God called him to.

    It is not true that the power, energy, insight that God gives only comes as we start to "use" it... God is the one who works (energeo: energizes and causes the effects) the gifts
    of His Spirit in and through us. While it is true if my gift is teaching, for example, that I have to study the word, and I have to actually try to teach people. And if I am a preacher of the gospel,
    I have to open my mouth and speak the gospel to people. But some gifts God Himself simply does. I never had to step out and "try" to prophesy, or to receive a word. I did have one time where God basically worked in me to pray for the gifts to be in operation, and then in the class (Bible college) they had us pray for each other, and that was when God chose to operate in and through me, giving me a vision and a word for the girl I was praying for. But I could not have "used" that gift apart from Him simply operating it in me when He was ready. Once I was simply having a normal
    conversation with someone when God spoke out of my mouth without me having a clue it was coming. It did not enter my mind before it came out of my mouth - God simply spoke what He wanted to say, when He wanted to say it. Oddly, it was a parable, but one that was prophetic. The thing God said came to pass.
    But be CAREFUL.. I also have had the enemy try to deceive me, by making words seem to light off and jump off the page of the bible at me, along with a strong "impression" . It's a good thing I never told our friends what that impression told me, because it turned out to NOT be from God. Satan can do supernatural manifestations too. And sometimes the enemy can try to make us think we have some amazing revelation from scripture when it is in fact false teaching. Pray against deception, and KNOW the scriptures. Pray about and study things even though you think you already understand them. There are things almost the whole church thinks are true that are not, because we were told something by some preacher or teacher who got it wrong, or who made assumptions. TEST everything by the scriptures', by God's character/nature, and be very very careful if you 'think' you have a word from God. I have seen people speak out of their own spirit and say "thus saith the Lord". God warns against doing this, and rebukes people in the bible for having done the same thing. God takes it very seriously when people say "thus saith the Lord" using their own tongues (ie it is not HIM doing the speaking in and through them, but them assuming something in their head is coming from Him when it's not)

    Samuel did not say "do what you think is best". He said do as the occasion serves you, ie what is necessary in the occasion,
    or what the occasion allows for (obviously within God's laws and ways) .
    We all know Saul made HORRIBLE decisions because of "what he thought was best" and lost the Kingdom because of it.
    We also know Saul was not literally "turned into another man" but that he would be LIKE a different man because of the
    ways God was about to show He was working in him, and that the anointing to be King was legitimate.

    So did Jesus lack the anointing then? I mean He was literally called the Anointed One of God. Jesus fell asleep in the daytime in the boat with His disciples,
    and was even sleeping through a storm. I would say He was pretty dang tired. Tiredness has nothing at all to do with whether you have the anointing,
    and neither does temporarily falling into the habit of trying to solve your problems. SMH
    God doesn't promise to make you feel more awake. The "energy" the bible speaks of is Him operating the gifts and causing their effects in and through us, not making us feel
    more awake.
    Even Philippians is being misquoted here. it does not say God gives us "the strength we need" to do whatever we want.
    It says " I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" There IS a difference here. God strengthens us in our
    inner man, but He does not promise to strengthen our physical body.
    As a matter of fact, if you foolishly presume God will give you the physical strength to bend metal on something to fix it,
    you may very well find yourself with a messed up back. That happened to me.
    I saw what I felt was a need, but it was not a "need" according to God. God did not strengthen me like Sampson and enable me to
    bend steel parts to put them back into the right position. I thought I was strong enough, that the metal was not as hard to bend as
    It appeared, and I tried to bend it with my legs, back braced against a wall. This is not the kind of strength that is being referred to
    in Phillipians. God will strengthen our HEARTS, our character, our inner man, but we are not guaranteed He will give us literal physical
    strength that we think we need. But that is what this verse gives the impression of when it is rearranged and added to in order to
    give the impression God will give us strength to do anything we "need." We often think we need things that we actually don't. Sometimes
    the solution is to get a new thing to fill the need of the old one. Sometimes things are just broken beyond repair. We think we "need"
    to fix that thing, when if we had more wisdom, we would not make assumptions that result in getting hurt because we presumed too much.
    When Phillipians says "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", we should realize that this does not literally mean ALL things.
    It means all things that are needful and important, that are within God's will. But sometimes what we think are needful/important are not
    important in God's eyes. Once again, these paraphrased versions take too much liberty with the Word of God, and as a result it makes people
    think certain things are true that are not. It is for this very reason I have an aquaintance who should have known the Word of God better, but
    because of his need to take things super literally even when clearly it's a figure of speech or did not necessarily mean what he took it to mean,
    has now lost his faith in the Word of God, and is spreading deception to others. Dear God give Wisdom and Discernment to Your people!

    It's the Word of God AND the Spirit of God that work together to change us. This situation was unique to Saul.
    God wants to make us new, to have us die to the Old man and to live in newness of life. But this does not happen
    without our cooperation with God and striving to enter that narrow path and to get around the obstacles .
    I'm not sure why you didn't use the examples from the New Testament that talk about us walking in newness
    of life instead; Saul is not the best example, as he FAILED in his calling, and God took the Kingdom away from him.
    God does not automatically make us more confident, competent or calm when He pours His Spirit into and upon us.
    That is not how it works. We receive His Spirit, which IS the Anointing, from the time we are saved; but it takes
    time for God to change us. Confidence comes from trusting God and His word. God enables and empowers
    us to do what He calls us to do, which I suppose you could say is competence, but that does not apply across the
    board to everything we do. Calmness absolutely is not an automatic gift of the Spirit. We can't be calm without
    trust in God and His word. Even then, sometimes we are not calm, even with the Anointing of God's Spirit, because
    we as human beings do not perfectly trust Him at all times, just because He is in and with us. I'm not sure where
    you get that idea from, but it is not reflected in the scriptures.

    The NLT does not turn Paul's prayer into a statement as you have done.. this is part of Paul's prayer for believers. I don't agree with additions to the Word that these publishers have
    felt at liberty to make, but you should still try to quote it accurately right?
    "....I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. " Ephesians 3:`16 NLT
    " For this reason I kneel before the Father, 15 from whom every family[a] in heaven and on earth derives its name.
    I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being.." Ephesians 3:14-16
    "For this cause I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and on earth is names, that He
    would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your
    hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and
    depth , and height; and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God." Ephesians 3:14-19

    It's not the anointing of God that solves all our problems. We PRAY for God's help in our problems. Yes, God will help us, but I find it really odd that
    he says it's the "anointing" that solves the problems. The anointing is simply GOD in and with us!
    Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:7
    "I will look to the hills from whence cometh my help.
    My help cometh from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth" Psalm 121:1-2

    The bible does speak of God giving an "oil of joy " in place of mourning, and talks about Messiah being given the oil of joy above his fellows,
    but I am pretty positive there is no oil of salvation in the bible, nor to my knowledge is there an oil of deliverance. Also, prophets were not
    anointed with oil.
    "You had to be a priest...nobody else was allowed to anoint in the old Testament"
    This is not a factual statement. God used both Priests and Prophets to anoint people .
    I'm kind of wondering at this point where you get your information, since it isn't
    difficult to do a quick look through the bible to realize that not only priests could anoint people.
    Moses was told to anoint Aaron and his sons. Moses was a Prophet.
    Zadock the Priest and Nathan the Prophet were both called to anoint Solomon as King over Israel.
    Samuel was being trained as a priest, but was called as Prophet and Judge of Israel.
    Samuel anointed David as King.
    Elijah was a Prophet, not a Priest at all, and God called him to anoint Hazael as King over Syria,
    to anoint Jehu as King over Israel, and to anoint Elisha to be a prophet.

    So.. he doesn't think having a team to help is good? What about Moses, who at first was trying to help every single person on his own, to give them right counsel or to judge their issues?
    His father in law, Jethro, had the wisdom to see that if Moses kept it up, he would wear himself out. So he advised him to set captains/leaders over groups of people, men who had wisdom and understanding, etc., and to have them judge the smaller issues among those who they were set over, and then have the more difficult situations brought to Moses to Judge. Jethro said,
    that if God also agreed, this is what Moses should do. And that was exactly what Moses did, so I am assuming God agreed. God wasn't going to give Moses limitless energy and power,
    to do His will, even though Moses absolutely was anointed by God, and called by God to judge and lead His people.
    Sadly, this kind of teaching is dangerous. People need sleep.
    If we don't get it, we can end up hurting ourselves and/or others... all because some guy told us God will give us unlimited energy , power and strength to do whatever we 'need' to do in the
    calling (including secular jobs) that we believe God has called us to.
    Please don't go around depriving yourself of sleep to achieve what you feel called to people. God can achieve it and still
    give you the rest you need. If you want to stay up to pray sometimes, please make sure you don't have to drive the next day or operate machinery etc, and that you don't have to watch a child or something. Jesus did not have to drive, did not have to operate dangerous machinery, did not have to watch young children, etc. Please use common sense. Again, even Jesus needed sleep.

    You are taking scripture out of context to make it say something it does not say. 1 Thessalonians 5:24. This is why we should
    not take scriptures out of their context like that.
    Yes, when God calls us to do something, it is Him that empowers us, because it is HIM doing the work in and through us.
    But you are using this scripture to say something it does not say. Maybe it would be better to talk about the spiritual gifts
    from passages where it is actually explained how they work. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 is affirming that God will make us
    Holy, body, soul and spirit, and preserve us blameless unto the coming of Jesus! It has nothing at all to do with the spiritual gifts,
    or of God empowering us to fulfill our calling.
    "The very God of peace sanctify you (make you holy, set apart) and your whole spirit, and soul and body be preserved blameless
    unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that calls you, who also will do it" 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

    You did not have to go to a priest to pray. Why would you say that? Where is the example of having to go to a priest to get to God?
    I clearly remember Samson's mother praying to God on her own. A Priest did ask her what her desire was, but she was praying on her own
    before he asked. I remember Abraham talking with God, with no Priest present. I remember David the King praying to God without a Priest.
    Daniel - praying to God, no priest present. Lots of prophets praying to God and hearing from God, without a priest present. There is nowhere
    in the bible where it says you had to have a priest in order to pray, or for God to hear your prayers. I don't understand where you get this
    idea from.
    Also, the priest was not the one that confessed your sins. The priest was the one that made atonement for your sins.
    Remember BEFORE Jesus died, many many people went to the desert to see John the Baptist, and were baptized by him,
    in a baptism of repentance? They confessed their sins to GOD and were baptized by the prophet, not a priest.
    It was true that if you had leprosy and were cleansed of it, you had to go to the priest and show them that you had been cleansed.
    And again, of course you had to go to the priest to have atonement made for your sins, because only a priest could do the sacrifices.
    other than that, I think you have an idea that came out of catholicism, but was never part of the true Faith of the Israelites.

    well... you have the authority Jesus delegated to us to anoint & pray for people for healing, to cast out demons etc., but you don't have the authority to anoint or appoint Kings. We also don't anoint prophets either.. So teally we don’t need or have authority to anoint people for anything but prayer for healing, because God is not operating that way anymore

    Why does he keep using verses that are not about what he is saying? Luke 18:27 was about rich men getting saved.
    Yes, we all know that all things are possible, but that's a weird verse to use to show it. I don't understand why
    he is gravitating to these verses that have nothing to do with what he is saying. I feel like he is typing in a search term
    for "anything is possible" and then just grabbing one of the verses without even making sure it applies.
    In his book, Purpose Driven Life, he used mistranslations, including one that teaches pantheism from the NCV.
    He also promoted pagan practices that were adapted to Christianity by Catholic monks and nuns despite God's
    warning in scripture that we are not to copy the pagan spiritual practices. Then he promoted his "good friend Gary Thomas"
    whose book Sacred Marriage OFTEN quoted a woman who teaches Hindu sex worship. I find all of this really concerning.
    I am not only concerned for the body of Christ, but for Rick Warren as well. If I had to guess, I would say that his experiences
    with Christianity have probably largely been the wishy washy stuff of Crystal Cathedral, and paraphrased mistranslations
    of the scriptures ... and I can't help but wonder whether Mr. Warren has ever actually read the bible cover to cover, whether
    he has actually studied it, or whether he simply does searches for the terms he is looking for to support his own ideas
    about how God works or what His word teaches, and then never really looks at the bigger picture. Please pray for this man.
    I will not try to determine his motives as others have done, but I am concerned with the things he has brought into the body
    of Christ, and with his lack of understanding concerning the Word of God, the anointing, and the gifts of the Spirit.
