I feel like if the Batter weren’t being controlled by the player, he’d just jump straight over those gaps in the platforms while being chased
He's trapped in the confines and limitations of an RPG. In his own vision, everything is more detailed and disturbing. To us, everything looks crude and in a poor quality. And that also goes for his movement. He wishes he could roam freely yet our limitations only allow him to tile walk.

You have to select the "Flee" option on the bar with "Attack, Competence, Objects..." (it's gray on the main bar). Also, it might take a while for a succesful escape.

This was probably the most important part of the whole game, revealing the truth about purifying. It's not a way to "cleanse the world", it's simply destroying it, and the guardians are the bodies of their respective zones.

That aside, I love Enoch as a character. He's just such a creepy dude.
I like to think the area of nothingness is representative of Enoch’s apathy. He automated his duties and hid away in the deepest part of the factory, content with the world operating without his hand. Because of this any part of the zone that does not directly affect production is never cared to, and is left to disappear.
No, the game just sent me there, guess because I ended up stuck on the wall and I would enter into a loop of battling Enoch endlessly that way? I don't really know. The first time I played I didn't get caught so I didn't know that happened, guess I should have practised escaping a bit more.
Someone should remake this scene with The Batter's line being read by Cr1tikal TTS and Enoch's lines being read by Nikocado Avocado TTS

Why is that one part of the zone purified at 6:30-6:45? Is it because Enoch is moving about instead of focusing on his guardian duties...?
+Alignn I imagine it's because he's exhausting himself. You deal with most of the other boss fights in one go, whereas this guy is being weakened out of his boss fight. I'm sure if you were one of those weird gaspy guys just going about your business, you'd notice the encroaching white of the nothingness beginning to overtake the land while the batter was busy beating the guardian's skull in.
+Prillis! The "weird gaspy guys" are called Elsen.
My guess would be because you damaged Enoch. You know how when you kill a guardian, the entire zone is purified. So if you just hurt a guardian, only a bit of the zone would be purified.
I think it makes sense.
its cause we damaged enoch which means every time you hit a zone guardian more of the zone gets purified
@@Frezshii Well that adds a terrifying layer onto everything. I'd had to be an Elsen, sitting there and watching as my world suddenly began rapidly fading away. I'd prefer if it was all in one go...

Blunt force can decapitate someone as well. You don't need to slice someone's head off, you just need to hit it hard enough that the head becomes detached from the neck

The only thing I find bad about OFF is just how boring the battles are, especially since Auto mode is so goddamn powerful.
