- For many guitar players, Jimi Hendrix was simply the GOAT.
We've heard plenty of guitarists say as much over the years on Gear Factor. In this video, you'll see the rockers who've discussed Hendrix's influence and played some of his greatest songs for us, including "Purple Haze," "Hey Joe" and "Voodoo Chile."

Hendrix will never be topped. He will be talked about for hundreds of years imo...
Richie Faulkner favorite riffs video is all Hendrix, that's why half of this one is he playing. You can tell he studied everything he could about the guy when he was learning how to play.
Love Jimi Hendrix! Others may sound like him! But there's only one Jimi Hendrix! What a gift he was to the world!
Absolutely, Rob!
@cle9146 Yeah for the short time Jimi was here! He was a true gift to us!
Buzz Osborne, what a character
Faulkner really has that Hendrix tone nailed. Obviously heavily influenced by him.
somewhat yeah and from a very different guitar , especially those raunchy lower notes
Any idea what Wah-Wah he's using? I'm not convinced it's a standard CryBaby, but I could be wrong.
@@trevscribblesprobably a vox, jimi didn‘t use the crybaby, he had a modded vox wah.
@@Godisnotmyshepherd It was modded? Didn't know that. But yeah, the VOX seems to be the way to go. I also saw a review of the CryBaby mini Wah which has a particular setting that sounds WAY more similar than the regular model
Without a doubt the greatest guitarist of all time. IMO he invented playing guitar❤
Playing foxey lady with a dropped low E string should be a war crime
Yessssss. What a knob.
I’m gonna write a song called WarCrime. Perfect song title. Lol
a “war crime” is a bit much but ....
Floppy lady
one of the worst hendrix renditions ive ever heard
Awesome Episode !!!! Buzz Osborn'( Of The Melvins ) Statement Says It All !!!!!
Hard to top Voodoo Chile. An all-time great riff.
SRV is the only person I know of who took one of Jimi's tracks and made it his own. Little Wing.
"Machine Gun" at the Filmore East... Un-top-a-ble.
The version from the second show, definitely.
I remember playing one of those Hendrix signature Strats in a shop once. It felt REALLY awkward having all the controls above the strings.
And people complain about a Strat's volume knob being too close when they're playing it right-side up!
Hendrix is the very best and will always be.
For me, my favorite is "All along the Watchtower".
Love it!
Skid row version of little wing was awesome too.
I think I’ll go listen to that. But I think you’re right it is good
I love Mikey Demus. Glad he's on here. And doing Little Wing.
He is and I’m here.. as far as I’m concerned little wing is.. the single greatest song ever.. I had already been playing 10,000 hours before The Dawn of Hendrix fell upon me.. along with single coils. There is no second spot. Hendrix graciously stood in the top three. Sorry for those who haven’t set seen the sun ☀️

11:33 dude with the gibson flying V said hey joe was a Dylan tune. INCORRECT. It was done by Billy Roberts.
You should do guitarists playing there favorite Nirvana riffs
9:19 nice tone
Hendrix wasn't a particular influence on me as a player, I much preferred Randy Rhoads or Iron Maiden. But I still knew the main tunes and they were a staple on every covers gig I ever did. But I'm surprised none of them talked about Hendrix's tone, so forward and caustic that every touch of the string was caught, yet fretted notes were so smooth and sang like songbirds. Such a unique sound
William Duvall got the Miles Davis/Lenny Kravitz look and voice going.
...and lip balm
Damn Faulkner really doesn‘t take no prisoners 🔥
I guess what Jimmy would have played with a top heavy gain amp kind of 5150, etc...🤘
For me, it was Little Wing.
I took one guitar lesson in my life and the couldn't figure out Little Wing.....
So right then and there I decided I would teach myself.
Jimi got the Purple Haze riff from Guitar Shorty, respectfully.
All hail King Buzzo!
Rockers Play Their Favorite Jimi Hendrix Riffs. 8.12.23. Casper brotzmann.......
didn't you used to play for the netherlands?
@@at-mccold145 Comments on ‘Rockers Play Their Favorite Jimi Hendrix Riffs’ 8.12.23 who me? sadly not. i would have most certainly alowed myself to play in a 1970's early 80's holland squad. not sonow... pah!!! anyhow; check casper brotzman... good lad!!
Hey joe….a Dylan tune?!?
Surprised Gear Factor didn't correct him and re-record the segment
Can any good Samaritan out there tell me what Wah-Wah Faulkner is using here? It sounds even closer to the record than Jimi's live performances! It's surely not a standard CryBaby, right? 'Cause mine certainly doesn't sound like that 😅
Not sure what's being used here but I've read that Jimi modified his wah pedal by at least removing the rubber stopper at the bottom front of the pedal to get some extra range lol
wtf was that guy doing on foxey lady
What with the name Jimmie 2 of the best guitar 🎸 players are named Jimmie Jimmie Hendrix and Jimmy Page
Playing wild thing wrong..😂😂😂geez!
Some butchered Jimi tunes on this!😅

One day God will show you too the path as it is narrow my friend. 😉
@@malcolmadams2105 been playing for years, never liked him and never will.
Do you have ears???
Jimi Hendrix is way overrated... his riffs seem so boring to me, they just dont evoke any emotion at all. But a lot of great guitarists name him as their influence so i guess ive gotta give him respect for that
