From my understanding, ATF is NOT suitable for these manual transmissions (and all the manual transmission Japanese vehicles I know of). I'd highly recommend you do NOT put ATF in your Eclipse manual transmission. I've only heard the spec of ATF in manual transmissions for some domestic vehicles such as certain Fords. Highly doubtful the specs of any ATF will meet the suggested requirements of these (and most) 'older' manual transmissions.
Shifts smoothly, but was not much of a difference from what was in there already. Sometimes changing to Amsoil makes a big difference in shift feel. In my opinion, especially for a Mitsubishi car, 75w 90 is smarter... to protect the synchros as much as possible and keep gear shifts smooth. I wouldn't use 75w 80 personally. And the cars are already a few years old!
@@fancycrocidile1879 In my personal opinion, I'd recommend the exact same fluid yes - GL-4 fluid, do NOT use GL-5! Amsoil or Redline or etc. And the process to change the fluid should be very similar as well.
I'm working on doing maintenance on my 4th gen Eclipse V6. **Thank you for posting this!** 🙏🤘
10/10 video, there isn't enough quality Eclipse content, outside the occasional forum post from 10 years ago, out there. Thanks!
Hey, really appreciate the comment! Thank you as well!
More content on your eclipse
I'll try to make it happen soon in the Summer! Thank you for the comment
Good video
Much appreciation!
Is it very different from the Mitsubishi Eclipse 4G GS 2.4L?
I'm not sure. I think likely that the process should be very similar, as well as the fluid type
Im using valvolines import multi vehicle atf fluid, is that the same specs as 75-90 also how many quarts did you use?

@mr.jscarcollection9214 yeah I realized that and got some 75-90 about 30 minutes later 😂
How does it shift now? I'm seeing 75w 80 in some places and 75w 90 in others. Not sure which one is better.

75w80 is really hard to find. at least in Canada. 75 90 is perfectly fine
i have a 4cylinder of the 4g eclipse manual would it be the same fluid i dunno how to find the right fluid for my car

Is there a filter to change too?
No, typically only automatic transmissions have a filter to change!
@@mr.jscarcollection9214 thank you that’s good to know l, I didn’t know that!
