When a Chinese audience with a good historical knowledge watch this, this is like playing a bad cartoon during infinity war. :D
Im sorry i know this was 2 years ago, but could you please explain? I dont understand what you mean
@@mr.midnight1349 it was painful for me to watch because of the mispronunciation and the MAJOR lack of some information.
I got a bit offended when they showed Japanese ghosts/deities instead of the Chinese ones. Like Kitsunes instead of Hulijin or grudges instead of Nugui. So as someone who grew up knowing them very well, this video was ehhhhhh... bad.
@@sparrow.mp4 Thank you so much this makes alot more sense😅 im sorry this hurt you
@@sparrow.mp4 lol this channel doesn’t care as long as they get views. They legit made a compilation of JD trial
@@subinlee3034 most definitely, which honestly is sad af.
Shui means the water in Chinese word.
And Gui means the ghost or spirit.
So Shui Gui means the water ghost.
In Korea, the Shui Gui called the 물귀신(Water Ghost).
Also, Korea has their own version of Huli Jing. It’s called the Kumiho(구미호).
still huli jing ,kumiho and kitsune the are same but different story for their country but huli jing is the original why japanese kitsune name is more famous not the original!
it's guai in pinyin 怪
someone actually replied this Nazi dude... :0
Yup ya ik that im chinese
이동연 I’m Chinese and u are right 水 鬼
Yao Ming is a legend.
Lmao
Shut up.
About time ! Asian folk law is more interesting that west one … just don't over us it .
@@user-nj3lg7wi5r no u
@Chloe Potter sarcasm?
Thank you, for actually giving some love to Chinese folklore. It's weird how little it's explored.
Okay, color me surprised. I had no idea that mogwai was a real word. I thought the movie Gremlins just made it up.
gremilin is fairly fictional I don’t see anything looks like gremlins in Chinese mythology. But the name it self is real. It just means demon in Chinese
I remember the Jackie Chan adventures episode with the Jiang Shi
The most infamous Chinese horror story in my opinion is the Jiang Shi also know as a hopping corpse think of it as a cross between a zombie and a vampire. Though the Jiang Shi has been mostly portrayed as villainous monster with the most well known villainous portrayal in recent years being that one non-canon epilogue DLC storyline in Sleeping Dogs where Wei pretty much has to save the world and his American girlfriend Amanda from the Jiang Shi ironically the most famed Jiang Shi in pop culture Hiesen Ko from the Darkstalkers franchise is on the side of good and in a even more hilarious sense of ironic humor in both Namco X Capcom and Project X Zone her pair unit partner was a protagonist known for killing zombies her partner in Namco X Capcom was Mei Ling the lead female protagonist of Resident Evil: Dead Aim, and in Project X Zone her partner was Frank West from the Dead Rising series and in both cases she mentions in a victory quote that she's technically dead and yet her partners are fine with.
jiangshi is basically just zombie.
thats what my mum said :/
They've covered Japanese and Chinese legends at this point. How about Indian myths/legends? Give Rakshasa some love.
Really like this
I've read that the appearance of Chaotzu from Dragonball is based on the Jiangshi.
HUmmm, yummy
Very good
Chowzu is a Chinese Vampire.
Chowzu is more of a Snowman.
Not very much heard of Jiang Shi..(vampire) anymore. And one point I got to point out. We as a Chinese during the hungry ghost month give offerings to wandering ghost and ghost that are unable to reincarnation to the next live after death.
I saw the Huli jing in LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS
The thumbnail 😂😂😂 Malbosha from Spawn
Anybody else remembers the jiangshi from that one Nickelodeon show "Free delivery"?
I....love....this.....CHANNEL xD it's awesome yet again
it’s funny how the narrator pronounces literally all Chinese words wrongly LMAOO i get it that she isn’t Chinese and I forgive her but IT’S REALLY FUNNY
How about Another Top 10 Terrifying Irish Myths? I'd imagine Abhartach, the Dullahan, and the Revenant getting on it.
When was the first one and why wasn't the dullahan number 1
Chinese legends vs Japanese urban legends
Also ‘Mogwai’ is Mo Gui or ‘evil ghost’, literally translated, and are demons. I’m sorry but,,,,,, how did you mess up 魔鬼 when you got the water ghost right,,,,,
Mr Vampire is a seriously funny movie about jiangshi. That shit got me laughing so hard as a kid that I had nightmares from it!
1:42 right statue, tell me when you see it
Applause for the use of Supernatural clips
6:06 reminds me of kung fu panda legends of awesomeness
Next Greek Myths next please!
Modern or ancient also ask them on their website

Can you make Top 10 Philippine Mythical Creatures? ' 'cuz theres a lot here haha
You guys need to do a episode about Dragula
I drew up a transformer based off the Jiang Shi. He turns into an old drop ride.
I’m excited
the hopping vampire is kinda funny there
If they are going for the Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, their pronunciation is rather cringe-worthy...also, for no. 2, it should be "mo gui", not "mogwai (Cantonese)", according to the Hanyu Pinyin system for standard Mandarin Chinese. If this video's gonna use Mandarin Chinese for the list, it should standardize all the spellings following that instead of Cantonese. Pls be consistent!
ummm, forget about the Romanization. It's always messy. it won't help either if they put Chinese characters on it.
I only came here for the picture of Malebolgia from the 1997 B-quality movie; Spawn
Seemed out of place..
the only thing terrifying was the CGI from the spawn movie that you guys used for the thumbnail haha 😂 his mouth didn't even move when he talked haha
4:31 Kurama Sync with me tailed beast bomb!
Jiangshis are horrifying, with or without the charm on their heads, my aunt let me watch a jiangshi movie when I was like 7 and it scarred me for a long time, couldn’t leave my closet open at night anymore (the one in the movie had their coffin stood upright) I watched the movie again when I was older and realised it was a comedy-horror
HAHAHA LOVE THE PRONOUNCIATIONS
The most terrifying legend is my mom
I like hoping vampires
Background music?
Can you guys do Philippines legends?
Like the decapitated witch head that flies around with some of her organs still attached?
@@tgdm that's fucking metal
Nelvine Pascual now that is creepy/good stuff
@@tgdm that creature is not from Philippine legends I think its from thailand or something
@@tgdmThat is krasue from Thailand
Hahaha.... its just basically listing down many types of 'gui' (ghost) and 'di yu' is really just hell for english speakers, 'ox-head horse-face' is basically Anubis, if you familiar with Egyptian myth, 'mogwai' is translation for demon and 'jiang shi' is really just zombie but in Chinese way...
If you don't know yet, 'yan luo wang' or King Yama, for Japanese or English speakers, is really an equivalent to Hades.
Probably can add the 'soup of meng po', where if one drink it in Hell, all memories will be wiped out, and will never again regain memories of previous life.
#5 NV GUI: Female Ghost. Although mainly depicted in white, it is said that when a female died wearing red or was buried in red clothing will seek out vengeance to all have wronged or caused her death. There are stories where women who would commit suicide in red dress.
gui = yokai = devil ,jiangshi = zombie
The jumpin vamp I know about them cause i watched a video on it
As a chinese Diyu scare me alot because I believe it exist after life
The worst Chinese legend has to be John Cena learning that new punch finisher! Freakin John CENA!!!
It would’ve helped if they showed the Chinese character for each legend.
nu gui means female ghost
I like it
Nightmare fuel alert!
I have played too much spelunky and know oxface and horse head and the jiangshi right off the top of my head
Why was the thumbnail from Spawn
I know Nu Gui for the Netflix animated Legend Quest series'
I like the nine tailed fox
Im just here to see why the Spawn movie ties in to this list.
How did you guys get a picture of me without makeup for this video thumbnail? Are you spying on me?
#1 MUNAK! I need your hat
Mogwai? Gremlins?!?!
Oh wow

Im scared of my land and my land is China 😰

Frkn SCARY!!!!!!!! 😱 😱
the woman from the grudge is japanese therefore an onryo
Bro the ring in Spain it’s called La Niña de pozo
殭屍應該是只會吸血的僵屍吧?@@
I don't see my mom on it
Me: *clicks on thumbnail because it’s malebolgia from spawn*
Me: this video doesn’t have anything to do with spawn
For fans of jiangshi, Mr Vampire is the best movie
Shouldn't jackie chain be here
Where’s the Hans?
Yao Bing Bing means
Yao Bing Bing🤣🤣🤣
-Lethal weapons 4 (1998)
Japanese folklore and modern urband legend type monsters are also interesting. And, I wonder, do Koreans have similar stories?
Wait a minute these creatures remind me of the episode of kung fu panda legends of awesomeness 5:40
5:02 GREMLINS
Nian..
The wuhan bat is pretty scary
What brings the thumbs down on commercials if I get them anyway?
