    Next up... the turbo V4 and Harley V-twin with electric motors twice the size of the internal combustion engines. I think that's FIA's ultimate goal LOL.

      1.2L I4 from 2020, then probably 1L I3s.

    • @farminglol
      @farminglol 10 лет назад

      they're gonna go full electric eventually, since that is the most economic and also very responsive

    • @thatguyonstage
      @thatguyonstage 10 лет назад +1

      Martin Böckmann that will be the death of F1 if they went all electric.

    • @NarcisMateescu
      @NarcisMateescu 10 лет назад

      thatguyonstage There's already a single seat electric cars championship (Formula E). So, in the end, maybe F1 will go for even smaller internal combustion engines over the years, with more powerful ERS systems, but not full electric.

    • @BLITZRAZOR01X
      @BLITZRAZOR01X  10 лет назад

      By 2050 they'll probably be using 100cc 1cyl engines. The cars could also become lighter as new materials are discovered. Electric power will be used as much as possible (like in the pitlanes, warmup laps etc.) but will never take over completely racing.

    This is not the first time F1 has V6 Turbo's.They always used to talk about the 'turbo era' and it's heroes Senna,Prost,Piquet,Mansell and so on . Everyone here watched some clips of the 80's turbo's , they sounded just like the cars did in Jerez today.F1 has no "specific sound" and it's not about the sound . It's about the speed, the drivers, technology , the glory and all of that . It's one big show, ower show . I really don't care how the engine sounds (wich is awesome btw) i just want to see real racing .

      Really, it's how you can tell people are new to the sport. The new rules are what make F1 interesting! The challenges the manufacturers face... there's so much weight on them. I'm all about these new cars, I can't wait for the season to start.

      yes, it was one of the best era of F1, but you forget on something:) They have one engine for training, one 1400HP engine for qualify and one around 1000HP for race...thats thee engines for one weekend :) it has extreme power and torque, wasnt any recuperation systems, which is tis year the most important factor....if you had KERS failed, you loose 80HP for 6 seconds per lap - so loose maybe 8% performance only for 6 seconds...you can win or finish on points with this handicap easy...but now? 160HP per 30s per lap ? this is 20% of power for 30% of lap...if somebody get this fail (and i am sure, that this systems will be unreliable (KERS wasnt 100% fixed)) you loose 10 - 15 mins per race...so 2014 and 80s is from this point of view absolutely incomparable...This moves are slowly kills the F1...

    Eu ia falar isso, mas em português mesmo... O RPM tá limitado, por isso este som de carro pipocando. Mas tem alguns vídeos mostrando curtas arrancadas com RPM destravado, o som tá fenomenal, me lembrou anos 80. Só espero que este ano os carros estejam mais parelhos, e não a palhaçada da RBR sempre com um pé nas costas.

    What in the world is a hybrid electric motor doing on a pure race car ? Are they racing economy cars ? And a fuel limitation ? On a Formula 1 car ? (Who thought up all these Rube Goldberg regulations ? A group of environmentalist-freaks ?) Formula 1 racing engines are NOT designed to comply with certain ludicrous E.P.A. mileage requirements ! They are built for pure speed,...nothing else !

      Tak mają turbo, i słychać. Mi też się podoba ten dźwięk.
      Ale pamiętaj, że na tych testach silniki miały kaganiec obrotów (zdaje się 10000 rpm), więc podczas wyścigu będą brzmieć troszkę inaczej xD

    • @kpcart

      I find the sound good, sounds racy and not crying like the v8s. similar to current indy cars and 80s f1 cars - nothing wrong with it! f1 often changed formulas, and they wont keep the same formula just to appease some lovers of a certain engine formula sound. the cars will still be the fastest motorsport.

      You have got to be kidding me. The DW12 is the ugliest open wheel racing car in the world right now. The only car uglier than that was the old IndyCar before the current one.
