- The European Walnut tree grows with a slight twist and has frequent branches creating an enjoyable knotty and creative grain. Because of that its one of the most admired and sought after hardwoods on the planet. European Walnut commonly referred to as Italian or English Walnut has been harvested for centuries as a precious and functional straight grain wood. When installed it makes any room glow with elegance.

man you sold me. I bought one.
Awesome!
I want to make a desk out of this walnut butcher block...... All i need to do is sand and add the satin coat? What grit sand paper should i use for both top surface and smoothing corners? Thanks
Did you apply a poly over the top of the satin gel stain you used?
We did use a poly top coat on the Island.
HomeDepot in Toronto Canada, doesn't have European Walnut Butcher so I have to go with the Hardwood Reflections 98 inch Butcher Block Countertop in Unfinished Beech. How can I achieve such color with the only available option I have?
Want to use this walnut block for computer desk. Do I need to sand it before I finish
I like to lightly sand the surface before treating.
allô! I just bought my new european walnut kitchen countertop. i can not find your HR satin gel stain on Home Depot Canada. maybe I can order it directly from you? thanks.
You're going to love the walnut butcher block. It's beautiful! If you can't find our Satin Gel Stain, we recommend General Finishes products. Hope that helps you complete your project!
How much is that style of "european walnut block"??
do you have to sand it after applying the top coat?
Nope. You are all set.
I really like the color of the European walnut, but it is a bit too expensive. Can I get the same results if I get a birch butcher countertop and use the same stain?
The beauty of the two-tone in the staves comes directly from the wood itself. We do believe that the birch is beautiful piece too but it will not likely be the same coloration as you see in the European Walnut here.
