Two years after release, Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear has finally found its way to Steam. This is a military-themed on-rails shooter that harkens back to the days of Time Crisis. While the story is brief and the gameplay is shallow, fans of this style of shooter will get a kick out of the explosive set pieces and varied levels. Nobody is going to accuse this of being a great game, but the roller coaster ride is fun while it lasts.

A old man who was in the navy played this and the same day bought a PS3 and booth games. Just to play this game. I'm going to try to get him on cod next. 62 yrs old.
+Larry Medina Huh. You know, I have a buddy who loves the idea of big action games, but hates controlling dual-stick shooters. I wonder if maybe this would be the best of both worlds, giving him an opportunity to simply focus on aiming and having a great time. Perhaps I'll sit him down in front of Heavy Fire and see what he says.

Thanks for the review man! I played the previous one (afganistan) on my pc long time ago. It was very similar - generic, simple but still a really fun old-school experience. And now I recently bought ps move for my old ps3, it's a wonderful device for such on-rails shooters. So definitely gonna check this one out!
Reload, Reload! I can't remember which arcade shooter had that phrase constantly shouted at you when you needed to, ehmm, reload. However, anytime I play a game where I have to, I can't help but out load say, "Reload, Reload". And yes, my family hates it.
That's like EVERY light gun shooter in the arcade.
