The mid-late 90s period was in my opinion an important period to define what we could call "Capcom humor". Because SF2 was obviously too new and made with rudimentary tools and ideas, for the devs to bother with the humor expression through the own graphics and gameplay... But the transition to the "next gen" of Darkstalkers, Marvel and SF Alpha, and so on in later systems, got the devs interested in making the own games to look funny and good humored overall. Like, they "wasted" time and resources to make a funny intro animations, funny special effects (like Anakaris curses and being burned in DS), multiple win animations including funny ones, etc. Also the whole vibe in that gaming scene seemed to have better sense of humor. This idea of adding Norimaro is a good example... Also the creation of Pocket Fighter. These kind of things are less likely to happen in the modern fg era.
