A very nice narration to a very well-executed time lapse! I definitely think this format is a good source of information, especially for someone at my absolute nincompoop-level skills in the art field. Now I wanna draw goblins too XD
Funny, the smudging, smooshing and eyedropping remind me of how I sketch with a pencil. Probably why its easier for me to understand your process vs others. Also the 50k is just how good you are. You may not post constantly, but it's all high quality posts. Also.. you calling me out with that rimlight comment at the end? 🤣 Jk. Did a practice on lighting and rim light recently and learned how easy it is to take it too far.🤦♀️ Also the wrong colors can really ef stuff up 🤣
Could you post the video of your painting in real time ? It would be great, i think, to see how you blend, smudge and colorpick a the normal pace. My paintings always end up muddy because of a bad dealing of lights and darks. Thanks for your videos, your a great among the greats
How do you do this and not end up with a half see through image? Thats the main problem I've had while painting your style. Is it just cause I'm not using a white background?
So around the 2nd goblin I mentioned the lasso tool. It's a freehand selection tool that lets you trace along the outside of your image. Then I select everything under it (not just the one layer, but all layers under it) and paste it in place. This gives me a solid, opaque image, then I make a new layer, clipping mask it to the solid image I just made, and paint over that so whatever I'm painting won't mess up my clean outline shape of the goblin
@Gammatrap Omg thank you🙏 I see what I've been doing wrong now. I was selecting the picture with the lasso, but I was only selecting the character layer, which would then darken like crazy 🤦♀️🤣 Imma do this later! Ohmy thank you good sir!
Hei man, wanted to ask some of the pros. I am aspiring concept artist, tho I would like to enter the gaming art industry any kind of way. I was wondering what skills should I invest into. A lot of ppl do tell me to use AI and I just dont know how that could help me. Will 3D be viable? I am learning Blender at a fast pace.
Anybody telling you to use ai isn't an artist and they don't care about your progression in any kind of skill. Not counting the unethical reasons, ai also makes people worse at drawing, so I'd avoid it completely. Focus on one or two main things. If you want 3d then I'd either focus on hard surface art, animation, props, or lighting. None of them are really concept positions though, but they're way easier to get into the industry with.
@@Gammatrap Hey thanks for sharing. Mind if I put some questions from time to time? I want to enter the industry but I need imput ftom ppl that are already working
@@radudancoroian5169 If you want to be 3D concept artist in industry your safest and easiest way are props, everybody needs a prop artist.. on the other hand blender is not really used that much , Characters - Zbrush, Prop design - Maya, 3Ds Max
Should I make more procreate videos like this?
Yes please!
yes sir !
Any chance you make more texture and material tutorials or is this Arc over ?
Of course I still will, not to worry!
Definitely
Loved it!
welcome back, man
it's been a while since you posted - glad to see a new video 🥰
Hey there Gammatrap! it's always nice to see you post a video tutorial :D

Good! The world could use more goblins
Makes me want to draw my goblin biker gang from one of my stories. 😂 haven't thought about them in years!
could you do some videos on drawing faces and stuff, both in lineart, and the "non lineart" way you usually do?
