  • This informational video is brought to you by the staff and physicians of Minnesota Gastroenterology and created for our patients that are having the Bravo pH Monitoring test. The Bravo pH Monitoring test measures and records acid levels in your esophagus. Information from the pH test helps your doctor diagnose GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and plan your treatment. The test period usually lasts 24 to 48 hours, and measures acidity in two ways:
    * How often stomach acid flows into the lower esophagus
    * Degree of acidity during the test period
This test begins when a physician temporarily places a capsule (approximately the size of a gel cap) on the wall of the esophagus (your swallowing tube). The capsule then measures and records the acid levels in your esophagus by sending wireless information to a Receiver that you wear on a belt outside your body.
To ensure a successful Bravo pH test, please watch this video prior to coming to your appointment and follow all instructions.
