- This white wine is popular with somms. It's dry, rich, golden-colored and delicious! The region is right next to some famous neighbors. Do you know what wine this is?
It's Pascal Janvier Jasnieres

When I saw the castles I was 90% sure that it was the Loire and also pretty sure that you were going to talk about Chenin Blanc. All of the taste/flavor profiles were classic CB descriptors, but I have to say you did throw us a curveball.
As though you did talk about about all of the Chenin Blanc appellations in the Loire, when it came time to pick it was either Couteaux du Layon or Jasnières. I think most wine geeks are familiar with Vouvray, Savennieres, possibly Montlouis. But Jasnieres is relatively unknown to me, also with so many former chiefly sweet wine regions now also doing dry wines, it was quite tricky. Thanks for making it fun, keeping us guessing and teaching us new stuff. Loving it! 😃
Apparently, Jasnieres is quite small, only a few producers here now. Highly recommend! I’m so glad you knew it instantly!
Love these segments... keep doing it!! Thsnk you for sharing
Thank you! Will do!
Castle juice LOLOL… Huge Chenin Blanc fan here as well. In my book, Savennieres can go up against any white in the world.
Stop! I like people not catching on to Chenin Blanc.
But in all seriousness, fun video.
hahahahahah!
Love Loire Chenin Blanc in all its forms!
I hadn't given Chenin Blanc much attention until I bought a few bottles of Vouvray. Wow!! What had I been missing all these years? Love it!!
i would have never thought that a Chenin would be that aromatic and spicy oO
pretty incredible to find this style. Just goes to show how dynamic Chenin is!
These videos are genius!
Thank you Elysa!
Wonderful segment. I didn't get it, so I'm going to have to go and try Chenin Blancs from all those regions, to familiarize myself with it, of course, not because it sounds like an amazingly delicious wine 😅😆😅 Thanks for this segment.
very nice format!!
Thank you!
What a nice video. competent and nice girls. 🍷🍷
Well, to be honest, after I saw Château de Chenonceau I was sure that should be mine favourite one. Chenin Blanc ;)
ppppuuuuurfect!
Same with me. As soon as I saw the Chateau or Castle, my mind said "Loire Valley." And when I think of Loire Valley, I think of Chenin Blanc.
nailed it.
Castles gave me the response before even seeing the wine. but i think i would have found it with the tasting notes too!
Haha! I gave it away! Or rather: you know Chenin THAT WELL.
@@Winefolly haha! I guess being french helps!!
To what degree is the flavour influenced by the 2021 vintage? I think you missed out this important factor
ah yes. we're keeping it simple so far without dialing in vintages as much. but I agree with you, the vintage factor matters in places like French wine regions particularly for collectors.
I got it right.
wewt!
I enjoyed learning.....by drinking better. I know "learn by tasting" sounds more serious but "learn by drinking" reflects your playfulness!
you are not wrong! They told us to stop drinking so heavily. hehe
@@Winefolly what do they know! Don't let "them" make you forget your roots. There's tons of wine content out there. You're fun approach is what made you stand out from the others.
Ep 3 means my 3rd opportunity to say “Well Done”! Learning and having fun with these @madelinepuck and @christinemarsigliomw
One thought: the Chenin reveal came sooner than I expected. Maybe a couple of quick reasons to rule out others first?
It’s All Good. Bring on #4🍷
thanks for the feedback! Awesome.
