My husband is from Mexico and grew up in a very poor family. He made enough to get by while we lived in Mexico but not a lot. He never once asked me for any money to help pay the bills. Everyday he gave me all his tips he made so I could buy food and essentials for my daughter and I. He said to me one day “I know I don’t have much, but everything I have is yours”. And that’s more than my rich, American ex had ever done for me.
That's really important to take into consideration. My dad didn't even finish highschool at was working with cows but he managed to get a corporate job and earns more money than my mom who has a degree. I don't see the reason to date only rich when it's something that you can lose easily or earn with time. I like most of her advice but i think this one is at least oversimplified.

I(32) am disciplined, hardworking but poor. I have a brain injury and therefore don’t have the privilege to visit college or another institution to get higher education. Despite learning a lot and being interested I barely passed high school. I tried college but dropped out soon. Over the years I survived with small jobs like dishwashing or working as a waiter. Whenever I encounter women in a romantic context, they ghost me after learning about my educational past. Some even called me lazy. Its hilarious. I'm so proud of my teenage daughter for turning down a 19yr old guy when he asked her to be his girlfriend. He hasn't even taken her out on a date. He has a DUI and lost is driver's license. He goes on and on about how he is broke because he has over drafted by 500$. Yet he talks about he is going to buy steroids that cost 200$ . What I got from this is basically don’t date men who don’t reciprocate the energy that you give, take advantage of you and your kindness and don’t pull their weight in the relationship. Also I think there’s a difference between a guy who is temporarily financially disadvantaged (unemployment in the short term or low salary) but still provides and cares for you opposed to broke guys, those with no ambition, drive and only wants to take and exploit but never gives. Finally not being afraid to leave if a guy doesn’t fulfil your criteria and needs because it’s better to be alone or with friends and family then settle for less than you want and deserve.

As someone who has dated a broke guy with 0 ambition, I can confirm its true. I was working my ass off and succeeding, manifesting, but his lack of drive disencouraged me. He always talked about his "dreams" but never worked on or commited to them. Whats more, he could not handle my success or me working on my stuff, he would be very opinionated and said stuff like it wouldn't last forever, what I should be doing instead, etc. I dedicated my time to the relationship and that was my biggest mistake.

My husband is from Mexico and grew up in a very poor family. He made enough to get by while we lived in Mexico but not a lot. He never once asked me for any money to help pay the bills. Everyday he gave me all his tips he made so I could buy food and essentials for my daughter and I. He said to me one day “I know I don’t have much, but everything I have is yours”. And that’s more than my rich, American ex had ever done for me.
That's really important to take into consideration.
My dad didn't even finish highschool at was working with cows but he managed to get a corporate job and earns more money than my mom who has a degree. I'm so proud of my teenage daughter for turning down a 19yr old guy when he asked her to be his girlfriend. He hasn't even taken her out on a date. He has a DUI and lost is driver's license. He goes on and on about how he is broke because he has over drafted by 500$. Yet he talks about he is going to buy steroids that cost 200$ . What I got from this is basically don’t date men who don’t reciprocate the energy that you give, take advantage of you and your kindness and don’t pull their weight in the relationship.
Also I think there’s a difference between a guy who is temporarily financially disadvantaged (unemployment in the short term or low salary) but still provides and cares for you opposed to broke guys, those with no ambition, drive and only wants to take and exploit but never gives.
Finally not being afraid to leave if a guy doesn’t fulfil your criteria and needs because it’s better to be alone or with friends and family then settle for less than you want and deserve.

i agree, i found this one guy, we were attracted to eachother for a second but once i found out that he doesn't want to do anything except play games all day, my thoughts about him switched instantly. People with no life goals and not even trying to be better are very unatractive to me. As someone who has dated a broke guy with 0 ambition, I can confirm its true. I was working my ass off and succeeding, manifesting, but his lack of drive disencouraged me. He always talked about his "dreams" but never worked on or commited to them. Whats more, he could not handle my success or me working on my stuff, he would be very opinionated and said stuff like it wouldn't last forever, what I should be doing instead, etc. I dedicated my time to the relationship and that was my biggest mistake.

If you are broke, dating should not be your priority.
You can't take care of somebody else/provide for a woman if you can't take care of yourself.
That doesn't mean you don't deserve love, or support, or that you're not valuable.
However as she stated men are taught to associate their value and self esteem with material possessions, making broke guys really insecure and bitter.
The guy I dated was broke, and I stayed with him, tried to help him, give him advices and I ended up begging him to do any type of romantic gestures that did not even require money....while he was spending his last economies on weed.
He devalued me, tried to put me down, always trying to compete for dumb shit and make it seem like I was not good enough, that my interests were stupid. Instead of bettering himself he used that time to entertain other women because his gigantic but fragile ego needed external validation to fill the hole in his soul.
This was a harsh lesson, but only when I got out of this relationship did I realize how unappreciated I was, and how much I settled.
