I figured the purpose of this accessory was to make your "checkerboard" like you normally would do with a square drill canvas instead of filling in the entire plus-shape thing.

I'm really surprised so many negative comments, I think if your putting all this time and effort into creating a lovely canvas you'd want it to be perfect 👌 after viewing completing projects with and without the ruler use, I think using the ruler gives a much more attractive finished product. Thank you for tge video, I can't wait to use mine. X
I found it soo frustrating when I started using it. Until I starting laying it out horizontally. So only half of it stuck to the canvas. I got much better results.

Thank you for the tutorial bit if truth be told after watching your video here the ruler seems like it is more a pain in the, (y'all can fill in the blank here), than helpful. My OCD does want that perfect line but using a ruler, or straight edge to genitally push the drills in place works, is faster, and less tedious, (at least for me). You have definitely saved me from wasting money by doing this video for us so again thank you 😊.
When you reposition it, the drill already on the canvas prevent the mesh from laying flat. Maybe a mesh for round drill will work better for square drills.

Hmm... still on the fence about this product. Thanks for showing (and assuring us) that the metal ruler isnt a nightmare to remove once you have put drill down. It might gear my flow (as in, what colors I tackle first within any given section) different.
I got my hands on one and was wondering if I was using it wrong lol but its just tedious!

Yeaaaahh, as soon as I heard about this, I knew I'm not gonna use it. You can place down less than half of the drills with this, not to mention the time to place it, roll it and remove it :D Thank you for showing it though, so I know not to waste my money :P

Do they make a square mesh ruler that doesn't make it where you have to go back and fill in the blanks once you do all the ruler? It seems to much trouble if you are only able to do just so many beads at a time

Once I pick it up and I have all of those squares that were not done with the ruler you know the empty spaces how do I get the ruler to lay down again over the finished drills so that I can do the unfinished ones I hope I'm making sense
Do I understand that once the ruler has been filled…I have to go back and fill in the blanks? Also how do I place the ruler for an adjoining section?
Just wondering, what if you did 3 random little "crosses" before using the ruler, then use them as guides to place the ruler?

I went across with mine and filled in the ruller the numbers that have been covered up i cant seem to get the ruler lined up to fill them in 8lim at a loss

I’d rather be careful of placing my square drills straight than fiddling with this gizmo. I believe the DAC square drills are a little bit smaller than the other seller’s probably why it wouldn’t line up..

Question what happen if you are working on the middle depends the canvas is big how are you supposed to fold the canvas? Can you tweezer to lift the corner?
If you're in the middle of the canvas you would have the flat side away from the diamonds that are down and yes you can use the tweezers to get it up

I have tried to use mine many times, and there’s only been maybe 2 canvases that the ruler lined up with…all the others, it just wouldn’t match up.

You just turn it over from one side to the other. One side is one size and the other side another size.

Nancy Murray it actually works just as good as the ruler for the circle diamonds. I have terrible ocd and I’ve yet to complete any of my 5d square paintings because I can’t stand the uneven gaps between each row of diamonds. If I’m honest I’m the day way with the circle diamonds. I completely threw away a 5 piece painting, and ordered a whole new one because I didn’t have perfectly spaced diamonds. I’m actually on medication for ocd and I’ve yet to have anything noticeably change in my ocd on or off the meds. So for those of us who honestly really do suffer from extreme ocd it does make your 5d diamond painting experience way more pleasant.

Yeah no my OCD would not like this at all.
I have the one for rounds and I may be in the minority but I don’t like it. No matter how careful I am when I pull it off, it takes some of the drills off of the canvas with it 👎🏻

There are two sizes for the round 141 and 140 maybe your using the wrong one? I have no clue how to tell either
