1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad 496 Big Block 475 HP Custom Build Project
This Custom Rod of the Year winning ’55 Chevy was designed by Chris Ito and required 24,000 man-hours to build. Almost every panel on the channeled and lengthened custom was hand-fabricated in-house. All trim pieces were also hand-crafted in-house from brass, and the glass was all specially cut. The incredible machine rides on a custom built chassis that uses 2000 Corvette suspension front and rear, and is motovated by a 496 cubic inch, all aluminum Arias fuel-injected big-block engine topped by a set of Brodix aluminum oval port heads producing 475 horsepower and 500 ft. lbs. of torque. As recepient of hundreds of awards and accolades, the NewMad has proved to be one of America’s best and well-known custom cars.

This Nomad looks better than any modern car out there.. Stunning
If I had a shop like this, I would completely restore my 81 Monte Carlo into a custom job. Truly amazing car.
These cars are built better then all these cars today
At first I wasn't liking this car , but the final product came out better than I thought it would as far as style goes. It has a nice stance and the Blue with the tinted windows looks amazing. The body mod's worked out nicely as well ! Beautiful car , respect the builders involved ! Hell of a lot of work... ! The one I think would change is the interior. Needs a little bit more life . That much gray can get a little bit depressing . Some accent colors inside would look amazing. Bad ass car ! Love it !
Amazing modified cars like this Chevy had been seen only as Hot Wheels cars. Its owner made an incredible job 👏👏👏
Maurice Crist
Iron from my youth, taken to perfection. Beautiful. Thank you
Saw this car at world of wheels over 15 years ago and its still a stunning car.
That's a car that Chevy should build again I always loved the nomads one of the coolest looks of the tri-five Chevys always a classic
Pra ficar 100% só faltou o barulho do motor! Parabéns!
I like your videos. no big talk, well cut, you can see the progress and then you always deliver a perfect result.
When I get my 55 finished, I'd love to have you do a build clip of it. Outstanding work on putting together the video. I better go work on mine right now and do an update video. Lol
Waiting for u good luck
Its beautiful!! I would not drive it though. Rock chip heaven.
So Beautiful, I'd like to own one just like it.
Real sleek and clean. All you guys do inspiring work 🙏

These guys should design s.u.v. for GM. from here on out .Absolutely Remarkable!
WOW! Perfection..
Damn nice build.
Incredible
Beautiful...one of a kind.
Awesome! But I think they forgot to change the gear knob🤦♂️😄
Una obra de arte, es increíble el trabajo que hacen. Es fascinante ver sus autos, tienen una visión para sus proyectos que no cualquier persona la tiene. Los felicito, saludos desde Argentina. 11/11/20
Absolutely amazing and that interior is outstanding
Very beautiful!! 👍👍
Trailer Queen? No, Enclosed Trailer Queen.
IMPRESIONANTE!!!
Amazing work!!
No manches pinches restauración chingona
👏👏👏👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Grate jab , perfect ....
I have one fully original clean hasn't but little over 14,000 mile always been garaged with its original tires, the woman past young and the husband kept it and past. Their son has the house next door to his parents, the hole place is a nice time capsule.
Such a head-turner! Where can I buy one! I wish our Congress would cut all the safety regulations and make cars like this now. At least give us the option. We could sign a waiver, etc. Too many regulations in our world today!
Dedicated work. Beautiful. Now, build a cage around it so it never gets hit.
Never park it in a parking lot.
Walter Palmer, naaaa, put the cage IN IT, not around it. Ya can't drive it with a cage around it! Another one I'd like to see at SickWeek next February!
The front end looks good, the Backend would look better, Crashed. The dash should be placed on the tailgate before the Crash......
Официальный авто!
Very awesome car. Now do it all electric
whata beauty
All that with a 90s-ish Detroit shifter and gate in it? I'm confused.
Anyone figure out why there are 8 pipes coming out of the headers it’s only a V-8? Beautiful work well done gentlemen
It’s a w16 engine
@@brianmartin6639 thanks for your reply good to know.
очень круто👍👍👍
hermoso
What did it cost to have this vehicle built?
wow...
The exterior paint is flawless, but why is the interior sheetmetal is unpainted?you just covered it in upholstery,it will rust easily
Made in the 🇺🇸 US OF A.
Dam. I was hoping to see it do a drive by video … to see it move and hear it….. Aaaa. But. Alas. It was not to be ………. AWSOME Unit Tho
Hate to say it, but I'd be surprised if it actually runs. And chrome brake rotors tells you something too....
💜
So much to say, such little vocabulary to say it.
Is it finished is SuperDuperBlue or something else? It is very close to SuperDuperBlue, and it is my goal to one day have something painted that color.
I think the only trick missed was having a digital instrument cluster.
That and I cannot unsee the fact it is a MINI Countryman on steroids.
Amazing skill, however driving it into a concrete wall would’ve destroyed the Nomad as effectively!
That's one sexy Chevy 😲🔥
What are they gonna call it when it gets old again?
Piece of s$/t 😱
Nope. Where's the 55? Every body line erased. Some cars were designed right the first time. The 55 is def one of them. But thats why car building is subjective. Great skill though no doubt.
SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick...............................
“That colour”
Totally destroyed a already Beautiful looking car. Sad😥
I’d rather see the old ratty 55 Chevys that young guys build by themselves in their own garage all day.
R Sanchez, I'm kinda with ya, but you could acknowledge the talent and labor that went into this build. Personally, I'd put a 25-3 cert cage in it and D&D event it for a season.
one MILION dollars.
I appreciate your time skills vision and finished product , but any classic that is lowered , in my opinion, is ruined, living on the east coast this is just a yard ornament , sorry
Let's see your car.
I didn't say I don't appreciate the car , but its a show car I have a raty 55 gasser ,a 55 Victoria. A 54 mainline and a 65 chevelle ss convertible , nothing as nice as that car but all drivable
@@2414kels it takes brass balls to completely alter a Nomad, especially when by doing so, you make it completely undrivable when you're done. Nice car, but not my taste or style. I'm more interested in Tom Bailey's Sickness Nomad, on nitro no less!!! .. "hat's flying, people cryin and scared kid's runnin for there mama's"
can you 404 peugeot
*5
😆😆
doesn't look like a 55 anymore! sad! looks like a blob!
Well to me this is a fail because you DID THE SAC-RELIGIOUS thing to a 55 Chevy Nomad ..you chopped it...guh...the is no reason in this world to chop the tops of any tri-five years..you just dont do it..thats why you hardly ever see any of the tri-five year cars have chopped tops..thought all hot rod guys and muscle car guys knew that as common thinking...and I get the whole "tuckin the bumpers in tight" look ..but you have gone overboard to where they are no longer bumpers..you made them appear as body panels..lol and 2 prong steering wheel looks retarded now for some positive feedback...your guys craftmanship looks top notch A++...bet that car rolls real nice..solid as solid could be..not a squeak or a rattle in th lifetime of that vehicle for sure
Loose the soundtrack.....
Really, no narration? Not particularly informative for a gearhead.
Everything you need to know is in description ffs.
@@2414kels while I'm attempting to read the fast-changing script, I'm not watching the video.
ахереная гробовозка!
