I've spent 3 days and many hours around many locations in Hong Kong to create and shoot this vlog together with VJSHIFTY (ruclips.net/user/vjshifty) I hope you like our creation. Hong Kong is always a very special place in my heart because this is the place where my love of aviation began!
Unbelievable! I'm a plane fan, my entire childhood I travelled all over the world because my father was stationed in uncounted countries around the world. He used to work for Biman Bangladesh Airlines. But Along with Aeroplanes I'm also a BUS fan. A big one. I used to cry when I was a kid to sit in the first seat. Still, today if I get on to a bus in London I literally run upstairs to grab the front seat.
Sam I became very very emotional. I lived in Hongkong from 1993-96. I used to call HongKong my second home out of Bangladesh. First was Singapore. So many big-hearted good friends I left behind that I don't have or I would say lost contact with. Wish facebook was there at that period of time.
My wife and I just came back from spending 10 days in Hong Kong. We loved every minute of it. The public transportation, the architecture, the islands, the people, Happy Valley racing, how safe and clean it was. We cannot wait to go back. I love your videos about aviation and I also enjoyed this one very much. Thank you so much.
@@SamChui I heard he was born in Beijing. Please say something in Manderin with Beijing accent. That would be gold! Also some cantonese plz! Love your videos!
Even though it has limited appeal to your audience, thanks for showing your HK story. Very well-produced video as usual, and nice to see a personal touch. I'm super bummed out at missing my trip back this year, and I can't wait for my next return to HK under more favourable circumstances. Cheers!
Though I visited Hong Kong only for two weeks. It left a huge impact on me and I feel like I left a piece of ny heart in this beautiful city. Thank you Sam for showing us your love for Hong Kong 🎉
Out of all your videos, this one has to be the best one! I've been to Hong Kong and it's now one of my favorite but you showing is your hometown with all these aviation spots is just AMAZING! You rock Sam, greetings from Ecuador
Hi Sam Chui , Hope u enjoy your life in Hong Kong in the past and enjoy all your flights . You gave me such a amazing guide , Thank you very much Sam Chui !
Hi, Sam great to see another of your video's as specially ashing Kong is also where I went to school and lived for many wonderful years. Like you I used to hang out around Kowloon city and visited Kai Tak airport. I also remember going to the tailors that had a rooftop viewing deck where you could almost touch the planes as they landed at the airport. I also like following all the videos and content you have to offer as it's great to hear and see another aviation enthusiast like myself. I attended KGV school from 1993-1999, and grew up in the one of the greatest cities in the world. By the way I will be at the Farnborough airshow this year in 2020 and would love to meet you in person if that's possible. Yours sincerely Mr Kwan Ming.
I flew to Kai Tak Hong Kong in 1996 on Air India 747 from Mumbai. What a lovely view while landing at that airport was. Nice video as always. Love from Mumbai India 😍😍
Thank you Sam for the dedication and your authentic love for aviation,Your love has inspired me to live in Hong Kong,Love Cantonese people and now my dream is to meet up with you at HKIA♥️♥️♥️
Sam great video. I flew into Kai Tak airport during the 70's when I flew in the Air Force. Loved the checkerboard approach. I was on the second aircraft to fly into the new airport (was on 747); the premier of China was on the first aircraft that landed and I was right behind him with President Clinton on Air Force One. It was a thrill; but I do still miss the old airport
My first flight was from Hong Kong Kai Tak to London Heathrow when I moved to the UK at age 11... I returned to HK to the ChapLapKok airport after 10 years... and then a few years ago.. I left HK on a United Airlines to move to the US.. flew in to Chicago and was delayed for a whooping 36 hours.. I slept on the floor of O'hare... Love your video, old memories... simply love HK so much.. despite all the impatient people, the humidity, the crowded streets, the packed MTR.. there is only ONE HOME..
Im so proud to be a HongKonger and i believe u are as well. It’s such a great place with one of the best airport in the world n so many fantastic food and culture! and hiking in the countryside that is right next to the city is simply my favourite things to do! Make more of these vids abt Hong Kong n introduce this amazing place to the rest of the world!!
Great Video Sam. I had the complete pleasure of living in Hong Kong from 1980-84. My husband was a USAF pilot and worked as an attaché at the consulate. Of course Kai Tak was the only airport and when we traveled we absolutely loved coming in on final to land! Very exciting! Thank you for the visuals of a place I’ll always love.
Dear Mr. Chui, Thank you SO much for your love and enthusiasm for aviation. As a pilot and businessman I am always looking forward to your next vlog. Oh yes, we all remember landing @ Kai Tak back in the days. What a thrill that was! Wishing you all the best and a fantastic weekend.

Hey SAM! this video made me tears in my eyes. Visiting this incredible lovely and amazing place a few years ago getting tremendous heartbreaking impressions: meeting a wonderful girl, joining the highest pool party, visiting the best rooftop bars, skyline views, 180Degree restaurant... And from my hotel in Kowloon, I could even saw some old signs (white arrows) that must have belong to the old Kai Tak runway!! Pascal
I’ve been in Hong Kong new airport many times especially I need to go back Australia. It’s quite a long time I haven’t been here since the pandemic situation became globally. Thanks Sam for the gorgeous video brings my memory flashed back to the history!
Buses and planes, a great combination ! Love those British built double deck buses in Hong Kong. There were a lot of ex London buses operating in HK in the 1980s !!

Wow, what a great video. I was a corporate pilot back in the 80’s and flew into the real Hong Kong airport, Kai Tak. I flew a corporate BAC 1-11 in there. I haven’t been back since then so it was very nice to see Hong Kong once again. I’d love to visit once again.
I love hong Kong. This airport is my favorite one, along side with the sea during take off is so amazing , truly saying hong Kong airport is so beautiful.
What a Great video. My first Time in Hongkong was in 1983 as a Teenager and it immediately got me. Especially the landing at legendary Kai-Tak. I‘ve been back there many times and I‘m happy that I already was able to give on my passion for Aviation and Hongkong to my daughters. Thanks Sam Chui for this extraordinary video!
Great video Sam. You are right about the sunshine, its rare: I've only had rain & mist but it is a stunning city in any weather. It's changed a lot since 1986 when I first flew into the old airport, that final approach with a sharp bank just before short finals was always fun. So modern and slick now and so well oiled. That train in from the airport is also superb, one can check in baggage at the main station.
The sunset landing is the best view / scene in this video. Wish it were open up for public spotting. I'm sure it will never get bored to enjoy that view.
This is a huge step up in your content. This video was on the level of some mega RUclipsrs that make films. Keep up the good work Sam! Also can you review Air Canada never seen a proper flight review on them

Excellent video Sam. I was in Hong Kong in the late 80s just after a white paper had been published about the changeover from UK to China. I loved it. We landed at Kai Tak in an anti-cyclone I believe they called it. Cathay Pacific L1011. bouncing like crazy those last few seconds flying over apt buildings. Quite a thrill. Good to see HK again.
Late 80’s I still remember KaiTak Airport when I first time travel to H.K. And thank you for showing current stage, I would like to visit the sit next time travel to H.K.

Why are you going to show the experience with Air NZ?!My two daughters are your fans, the little one is only five years old, but she was your fan since three years old! We are very proud of you as Chinese and travel consultant, will follow you continually!
Sam your video edition skills have improved dramatically! Keep up the good work.
I love it Sam and cannot wait for the next one! Your videos are a great blend of culture and aviation.
This makes me miss the viewing platform at the old Queens building at Heathrow. It has since been demolished. :(
Those were the days!
Went there to watch Concorde take off. Good times! 😁
I've also been there and missed the Queen's terminal obs desk badly.
I've been to Hong Kong 9 times in my life so far (and im only 30!) and every time i go, I always find something different to do...For anyone who hasn't been, whether you love aviation or not, I'd recommend you visit HK...Magical city :)
Thanks Sam I really enjoyed this video... Memories, sometimes are the only thing that may exist!!!
Absolutely best vlog ,it’s would be awesome if we get a sequel of HongKong vlog.cheers mate
Even on the bus, you have the best seat!!! A big shout out for you SAM
