Quick question wye do you guys put the luggage on the the little belt thingy so ruff while loading the cargo compartment of the plane what if you break something fragile or expensive
That’s a great question. Generally passengers are asked if there’s anything fragile in the bag when checking in. If they say yes then the bag gets tagged as fragile. Fragile bags are handled with care just like all other bags. The video might make it look rough but I can assure you we’ve never broken a bag or its contents. Agreed. Way back in the day we had 25 minutes to turn an RJ. Everything done to the book. Safe and sound..bags, bins, butts lets go and get this door closed. There are always delays. WX, MX, ATC, take your pick. Not taking a station delay because we couldn't get bags or pax on board on time. Have no idea what ground crews are like these days. hey, slight question, you were scanning the bags at the start, but then when you were loading on your own you didn't scan the bags, what's the scanner for?
That depends on your company rules but I would recommend blue, black, or grey cargo pants. As far as boots go you will want some comfy steel toes. Make sure you get a good brand with a good warranty so you can keep getting free boots. In my first year I went through two pairs and the warranty saved me so much money.
Unfortunately you won’t be able to say hi haha. Corporate didn’t like my lack of telepathic abilities for controlling others. Maybe in the future though. Just depends on a few factors.
@@AircraftPitCrew if you happen to be pushing my aircraft, I’ll talk to you through the headset then! Or I always try to interact with the ramp agents when I do the walkaround
Once a ramper, always a ramper. You’ll never find a more rewarding job. Just a quick piece of advice. Don’t let the clock control you. Just be safe and if a plane goes out delayed and you did everything right then it wasn’t your fault. I’ve seen people get hurt trying to rush because they’re at D15 with 100 bags to go.
It really depends. For us there’s an operations supervisor then a ramp lead (ALA). The operations supervisor plans the flight (where the bags go) and I (the lead) run my gates. Each lead has their own crew for the day to run their flights. In a bigger airport the operation is very similar.
If it was while I was actively scanning and loading that would be the rush tags. Delta has a new tag for people with tight connections and we load those last so they can be rushed to the next plane.
How were you able to record this... i tried to get permission when i worked on the ramp in dtw snd they told me flat out no... regardless of how many subs i have... thye said they want to protect the brand.. i loved workijg with delta tho
It completely depends on which company you work for. Unifi had no issues with me filming, however I was fired as a result of people breaking rules since I was in leadership. Delta had a rep fly out to meet me and said I should keep uploading but I never got the chance to haha That said if you asked after my videos were published it might have something to do with my videos being uploaded. Unifi treated me awful for the videos and as a result lost 26 employees at our station.
I wanted to be a ramp agent growing up but as soon as I realized the pay was not so good i found a nice Job as a line tech at the airport i fly out of. A year in and I'm loving the line tech life. Also what camera did you use to record?
Yeah the job doesn’t pay the best but some stations start at $30/hr which is good enough for me. I use a GoPro Hero 10 for all the footage. The battery life is trash when recording in 5.3k but well worth it for post editing.
Wow! 30 an hour. Every position i saw within like 150 miles were all less than 20 for even full time if they offer full time. Like i said I'm enjoying being a line tech for a GA airport. I might use my Gopro to record a busy day.
I was getting paid about $22/hr but it all depends on where you live and which company. The starting wage was $15.50 when I left. In comparison the starting wage in Jackson Hole is $25/hr for the same job and less responsibilities with the same company.
@@Godless-Being It’s all good. I work for a new airline now but unfortunately I can’t make videos here haha. I am however working on a project that explains what happened with Unifi/Delta.
It’s all good. It was getting close to me leaving anyway and most people were fed up with how the station was being ran by the manager. After I was fired 26 people quit or were let go. The game is moving slowly due to work. I’ve been focusing on writing the scripts and characters. By next year I should be able to start making the world and characters since AI is developing so fast. Soon I’ll just give AI prompts and use their voices/face to capture and put into the engine. I imagine many devs will be downsizing soon with AI making it easier and cheaper to develop characters.
It's amazing to me that we can put these massive objects in the air, fly halfway across the world and deliver hundreds of people in one piece with their belongings.
So we match our wages to the upstairs Delta agents. Delta won’t let us make more unfortunately. We get raises usually about twice a year. Last year we had a $2.50 raise then another .89¢ raise in November. We get S4 flight benefits as well. Some of our guys have S3 but that’s because they were grandfathered in when we were DGS.
@@AircraftPitCrew Okay cool I appreciate the response. As to the S3 and S4. does it depend on the person getting hired or how do they make it into the S3 Status? And would you say it’s hard Flying and enjoying the Benefits on S4 Status?
So everyone is hired on as S4 and your seniority depends on hire date. You can’t move up to S3 unless you work for Delta unfortunately. Only people who worked for DGS prior to Unifi have S3. Flying with S4 is definitely easy to accomplish. You just have to time it right. Don’t fly during holidays or during breaks. So for example if you fly out during spring break odds are you will get stuck in whatever state or country you are in. It also helps to watch passenger counts.
@@AircraftPitCrew Okay cool, again i really appreciate you with all the information you have provided me with. 1 Last thing i forgot to ask. on S4 is it unlimited or limited? Thank you so much.
For us it’s unlimited. But I believe it depends on your contract. We also have an Alaska contract which is also unlimited but for spouses you only get 8 tickets. You still have to pay taxes on your flights. If you worked United it would be $50 dollars a year.
That’s awesome! If you haven’t already get yourself some good boots and cargo pants. I wouldn’t go too crazy as you will definitely be going through a pair every few months but make sure it’s something you are comfortable in. Same goes for the boots except you should be looking at a new pair every year. As far as what you should expect, this video just about sums it up. Just listen to your leads and don’t over complicate your tasks. If you are stacking bags don’t stress yourself with playing Tetris your first time. Just get the bags in the plane. You’ll develop your own stacking style as you go and you’ll get faster and better. Stacking bags will be the hardest thing you do and it’s relatively easy. Another thing is once the brakes are off and you’re walking/pushing the plane don’t stress yourself and try to rush anything. I always saw new hires trying to rush the disconnection process and miss steps. You should do great though. The first few weeks will be tough but it’s more about the adjustment to a unique style of working. My first few weeks I felt like a complete idiot but slowly got better and better then by my third month I was a lead.
Working under the plane is a very rewarding job with many opportunities for people just starting their career. In the beginning it can be a bit rough but once you gain more experience you can move up the ladder. I know people who went from supervisor to manager in just 3 years. It’s fast pace which allows for such quick promotions.

Where are you guys?
Denver?..Salt Lake?
How long did it take to learn your job? Are you provided head sets??
It takes just a few weeks to get everything down. They provide most of the gear.
@@AircraftPitCrew OK thanks!
Yeah dude, keep these coming!!
Super cool how much do you get paid?🤔
I was getting paid about $22/hr but it all depends on where you live and which company. The starting wage was $15.50 when I left. In comparison the starting wage in Jackson Hole is $25/hr for the same job and less responsibilities with the same company.
Cool👍😃I was just wondering lol
29:39 So…this is the pov of my GSX team in the FSX…wow
This looks like a fun job
is it in columbus?
Are you guys still flying S4 as Unifi employee?
Is there a short staff or something? Cuz I saw him do all the work
IMPORTANT QUESTION : Where is the 'Left Falange' ?
Haha! That was a funny episode 😂
What are the hours like for you? Are they mostly 12 hour days or more?
I no longer work for the company but most airlines run 10 hour shifts. Some do split shifts depending on their flight schedule.
@@AircraftPitCrew ah my bad
@@Godless-Being It’s all good. I work for a new airline now but unfortunately I can’t make videos here haha. I am however working on a project that explains what happened with Unifi/Delta.
@@AircraftPitCrew well that sucks you can’t make videos here anymore. Best of luck at your new job or newish job. Good luck on your project.
great video thank like more
Didn't expect to hear you talking about Unreal and the gaming industry 😄
Gotta have hobbies outside of work haha
Best job i ever had ramp rat/bin monkey for delta rdu never a dull moment
I miss those days....worked DFW, DAL, AVL, IAD, ICT, SAV and IAH
How often do push back put the plane in the wrong direction...lol. I am sure that happens once in a while.
Never haha
It’s near impossible to mess up for the gates we have.
Sorry about you being let go. How's your game going though?
It’s all good. It was getting close to me leaving anyway and most people were fed up with how the station was being ran by the manager. After I was fired 26 people quit or were let go.
The game is moving slowly due to work. I’ve been focusing on writing the scripts and characters. By next year I should be able to start making the world and characters since AI is developing so fast. Soon I’ll just give AI prompts and use their voices/face to capture and put into the engine. I imagine many devs will be downsizing soon with AI making it easier and cheaper to develop characters.
What airport is this? I’m a fellow Linesman myself
BOI Airport!
It's amazing to me that we can put these massive objects in the air, fly halfway across the world and deliver hundreds of people in one piece with their belongings.
how is it working for Unifi-Delta. Here in IAD unifi works for Delta Cargo and i’m interested but do yall get raises and benefits??
I’ve always wanted this job it’s so cool
My question is what airport are you at sir
BOI. We are classified as a medium size hub
be careful out there thank you for what you do
i gotta say ya'll must been havin fun in the long run i can tell xD 28:03
what about the sound on 10:49
Uhhm we’re not gonna talk about that 🤣
what airport are you at?
what airport is this. i worked at JFK in NYC in 1995 it was fun
This is the BOI airport
I'm terrified of planes but still cool
Mas is so cool 4:43 😊😊
What Airport do you work at?
This is Boise, ID (BOI)
Oh ok thanks
Is this Salt Lake City?
I might get hired for cargo ramp agent do you have any tips if I start?
@@AircraftPitCrew Thanks!
Haha Sloth...." Baby...Ruthieeeee"
“Rocky RoAD.” 😂😂
I like your videos they're really fun to watch is it working as a baggage is hard
Working under the plane is a very rewarding job with many opportunities for people just starting their career. In the beginning it can be a bit rough but once you gain more experience you can move up the ladder. I know people who went from supervisor to manager in just 3 years.
It’s fast pace which allows for such quick promotions.
