Redkeep here, btw game actually didn't went as planned. I was supposed to be pocket. 11 Anyway, throughout the game I put barely on food and went all in on wood and gold to mass produce 4 range CAs. Goal was to keep a player pre-occupied. In my case it was MBL. I pretty much decided to stay forever Castle and just being as annoying as possible. 11 Also I forgot to build stable to get bloodlines and explains why CAs dying fast. 11 I picked CA mainly due to hit and run compared to other units.
Old AoE on MSN Zone days; no such thing as spectating or streaming. You had to either co-op where you could have multiple people playing in a 1v1 if they were dishonest about it, or recordings to download which also seem to have gone the way of the dodo bird... those were the best of days.
more mbl stuff would be cool ngl maybe also like hoang or rubenstock or phosphorus or similar, kinda like the t90 legends telling you what to do, that kinda stuff would be cool.
I Love these, keep em coming! IMO if the players pretend that they're noobs but end up not being, you should get a bit of handicap to balance it a little
actually, what if you had a new player / 1k- player tell you what to do ? you would be playing and in a call with em, and he tells you what to do and you just nee to comply could be cool to see how high you could get with the mindset of a low elo and the execution of a top 10 player (k top 10, maybe more 11)
ngl i like mbl's 'fighting spirit', i hate it when my opponent resigns immediately lol, i'd rather be able to play on a bit (you did hold the siege ram push after all, didnt look quite dead in my eyes 11)
Logically, between you and MBL you should have enough apm to handle 3 players each but the deck is still stacked against you. The other team have a population cap limit of 1200 while you two only have 400. They can generate resources and production of units multiple times faster. That's not to mention that they have 6 team bonuses stacking each other if they are not the same faction. But it was fun to watch :)
I'm pretty sure Hera/MBL can beat them 1v3. Some of the micro between two of the best micro players in the world was incredible. This play at 22:50 was next level I've never seen anything like that before.
Hey Hera. Thanks for your educational content lately. I have a request/tip: eco balance. How do pro's always make sure they are on close to 0 res, it also strikes me that you always seem to have just the res laying around to go for what you want to make. Do you make educated guesses beyond the opening on vil distribution, or do you purely calculate this while playing? One thing I for instance run up against is seeding farms with heavy plow in castle age and just when Im about to be up to imp for a treb/BBC war all my farms need reseeding and I end up having to move singificant parts of my eco to wood or even buy it.
don't forget many do market abuse to fix their eco or get the timings down better. as for the rest, i'll let other players answer, but i'd guess game-sense acquired through experience
when you are so experienced like this player, you know more or less how many vills you need in every recourses to make certain unit, and they always balacing correctly , is the combination of micro and experience. Is awesom

When facing 1100+ players you gotta respect that they are actually far from beginners. By looking at the elo before the game it was clear that there would be little chance to win this. heya hera, just dropping in to tell you to play the 'fake allies' gamemode more (the last vid on vipers channel where u 2v2 and every 5m you switch team) modes like 'wonder race' or starting as allies and backstabbing each other with attack ground units (on hybrid maps ideally) can be SO much fun 11 its very unconventional but imo, you should try it out (maybe a 1v2 wonder race or sth along the lines ?
So I'll say it again, it would be really neat if in these 2v5, 2v6 games if there was a map scrip that gave Heras team a 2 tc start, and the opponents team had a normal arabia start. because even if you kill 10 vils from someone in early feudal, they have 3 times your TCs, which means that they have 3 times the eco. If Hera and MBL had 2 tcs to start, then its 4 TC vs 6, much more manageable without falling down an eco hole to your opponents.
you should do a 1v5 or something like that, but you and someone else controls the same color, so at first theres not much to do but then one can do military and the other does eco or something like that

I'd argue that the initial strat of "gray and purple are the better players" (so target them) is a lesser strat to dominating the lesser players first and then letting the two 1500 ELO people fail at 2v2 against two of the best in the game. But I get that wolfing down the "noobies" isn't a welcome part of the game's culture. So, being nice means these types of matches will always be impossible but being ruthless basically guarantees wins.
At the start of Hidden Cup, he was in the top 3 players if I recall well, but took a step back in the passed years. He's back casting full time now. He's in Hera's last team too (Aftermath).

You forgot about your game with Yo ! This is the fourth time you did 2v6, not third. Didn't DauT make fun of your plan of going scouts in Feudal age when you played with him? You kill a few villagers from one or two players... and then there are another four players booming untouched. You probably need to think of the purpose of Feudal age military being to distract and scout, not to do serious damage. You should think of trading four scouts for six villagers as a bad trade, not a good one, when 2v6.

The castle made him immune because it made you the easier target.
yeah, Aimpot here, we all went for Hera because the castle + walls from MbL made it impossible to actually get damage there.
