After Ibanez discontinued the S670 this is the closest thing to that. Having missed out on the S670 I am not going to miss out on this beautiful guitar.
Good to see that Ibanez haven't cheaped out like they did on the Jem Jr. The proper Edge Zero2 is an amazing bonus over the much cheaper trem used on the Jem Jr and as you say, a pickup change and you're about good to go for full-fat Jiva goodness. (or some Fluence Moderns - although that body may be too thin for a push-pull voicing change - may have to go mini-toggles) The neck - it's one-piece? I guess asking for a multi-laminate neck/full Wizard neck is a bit too much for the budget version - I can live with that though.
Agreed, I really wish Jem Jr wasn't such garbage. Though, it can be improved, but really needs a trem upgrade. From the reviews I've seen this doesn't seem to have the best quality control either, but it's easily fixable without needing to buy new parts. Pickups are fine.

Maybe I missed it, but the fret markers on the top of the neck glow in the dark if you shine a flashlight on them from your phone or other source. Both Jivas have that feature. Great reviews

I liked the Deep Space Blonde finish on the original, but I love the Deep Sea Blonde on the Jr. Just a great color for this guitar . I've never wanted a guitar with a locking tremolo until now. I'll probably save up and get the Dimarzio Pandemonium pickups later.
I just returned the Jiva Jr. guitar. I tried it for 3 days and I used to realize that its price does not correspond to the low quality of the product. With Ibanez it is a lottery, I have a Rgx350 that came perfect to me and others with double and triple non-junk value. Very disappointed with the product. Bridge and tuners that come in the cheap Ibanez. And glue on many frets with dirt on mast.
i really liked mine, only problem is it made me realize i am a hard tail guitar player. found i didnt like the feel of a trem system. ended up trading it towards my first gibson. if they made a hard tail version i would so get it.
I bought one on Reverb this week from G& D’s Guitar World. Very dissatisfied. The guitar buzzes like a cheap kazoo. Upon investigation the main issue is that the frets are not level, especially the second one- F#. Amazing that this cleared QC and that the seller did not disclose these flaws. I love Nita but the guitar I got is unacceptable.
I got the original Jiva the green/tan one. I was so disappointed w/ it. The trem arm thread didn't line up w/ the thread on the trem collar. So i literally had to put it in a vice and and screw it on w/ locking pliars. Now I can take the arm off. But, that's how that went. The fret sprout was awful on it. Shredded my nylon test. Worst fret sprout I've ever had on a new guitar, even way worse than my cheaper Harley Bentons. Which is sad, since this guitar was a 1500 dollar guitar. Out side of that, its lovely. Thinking about the the jr and hoping mine original Jiva was just something that snuck past QC etc before being shipped out. I love the feel and weight and balance of the Jiva.. I'm getting more into these S series style Ibanez guitars. I have a lot of RG's, but these S bodies are nice...
I heard this thing is a bitch to mod with pandemonium pickups but is possible if you know what you’re doing but I don’t so it would probably end up costing me way more overall than just getting the JIVA 10 because I’d have to pay a shop to do it
Strange combination for this Jr guitar, great trem let down by poor gritty pickups. At least compared to the Jem Jr, you won't need to upgrade the trem. Some day Ibanez will give us a Jr that does not suffer from spec cutting.

The finish looks weird, you can't see the outside part of the guitar + you're gay.

Nice guitar. One comment it doesn't really matter. Watches go on your left. It's especially cringy swinging around on top of nice finishes.
