One thing I love about Dragons Rising is how well they balance their characters. Everyone had something to do and progressed the plot while also giving more character development.
this is the best episode of dragons rising season 2 for sure love how all 6 original ninja get to make a appearance the kai rising dragon scene is one of the best in the show love the wildfyre and egalt and the mysterium stuff such a great episode
I don't know if it's my favorite but it's definitely one of the best of the show - Gandalaria kind reminds me of my mom - the scene when Wyldfire comforts Egalt over his illness really gets me. My dad dies of cancer I feel like I wasn't there for him so to have someone who can support someone like that means so much to me - to how much Aron is starting to doubt himself is really sad and serve as great foreshadowing for him joining Ras in finale. The anxiety that comes from Lloyd is also very relatable for me. The administration having Nindroids working for them but considering them Equipment instead of living people is mad which fit them very well. Jay was very hesitant to arrest Bonzle part of it is because he isn't very passionate about his work but I also like to think some part of him deep down know it is wrong, which only makes him shatter his goodness more sad - this was a great video and I hope you have Happy New Year
also the bit about why nya didnt unlock it in that particular scene was because she mentioned/noticed that kai was the closest to unlocking rising dragon but figured out what was holding him back from achieving it. Don’t know if im reading too much into it but I think it makes a lot of sense why kai unlocks it first. Rising dragon is a technique that requires you to be in tune with motion, and kai seems to be the ninja that kind of represents motion in a way in dragons rising, for example: In dragons rising season 1 there was the one scene where kai mentions to wyldfyre that a good way to keep in check with your emotions was to practice meditation techniques or maybe in other words to go with the flow/motion again don’t know if im reading too much into it but if its true then thats a very awesome detail
Another great one! I also really love Gandalaria (Gand-uh-la-ree-uh) Huge shame she hasn't had more screentime, especially since magic systems are big parts of world building and that's like Ninjago's "thing"!
Surprisingly magic isn't actually a big part of Ninjago's world building (or at least rarely focused on) despite being responsible for several important moments across the shows' history, for example they never explained how Clouse's spells work, the history of the Cursed Realm banishment spell, how the Oni tie into this with Traveller's and Tomorrow's Tea despite one aging up Lloyd or any rules as to how it works unless it' was finally relevant to the plot like with Bonzle and the limitations of Traveller's Tea. I agree Gandalaria was a great character but I think she had enough screentime though I would love to see her again, I think it's actually Mysterium itself that never got nearly enough screentime, with how much potential is has we barely saw any of it.
I'm glad they had Kai learn it first for a change because he's usually the last one to learn something
11:42 I think with this scene, Nya wasn’t trying to do rising dragon at all, she was only focused on helping Kai unlock it.
3:54 YES JIRO HAS HAD ENOUGH!!!
