Thank you! What I missed in the beginning of the video was that we play as a team, not against each other. Knowing that makes it much easier to understand.
What a great explanation. Haven’t played this in years and had completely forgotten. You’re explanation was precise and easy to understand, and my dad and I picked it up real quick and we won on our first try. Had never discovered this channel until now. Will definitely be back! Keep up the good work!

I haven’t. But I do have a question about this one. We played this last night and ran out of flood cards to turn over from the flood cards deck. We were up to 4 or 5 flood cards per turn, and we ran out before we got another ‘waters rise’ card. We figured we would wait until we drew another ‘waters rise’ card before we shuffled and turned them back over. Is that right? I didn’t know what to do in that situation.
@@silvernugget5153 in that case , you reshuffle the flood deck to create a new flood deck, you do not wait for a waters rise! card. If this happens while you still have cards to draw, you do the same and draw how many is needed left.
I'm fairly certain that the pilot can only use his ability to fly himself to other tiles. The diver can only swim up, down, left, and right in a straight line.
When you draw an island card at the end of your turn, you place it in a discard pile. If that piece of the island sinks, remove that tile and the same island card from the game
Can you trade with someone who already has the max number of cards? Are you allowed to discard cards you think you don’t need, or do you have to exceed 5 cards then make the choice?
Hello Arran! Danny here. So the specific action lets you give a player a card (not special actions). Any time during a game that you hand of cards is more than 5, you discard down, choosing which cards to discard. So yes, you can still give a card to a player if they have the max hand limit, they would just need to discard down to 5 before and more actions are done. Thanks!
I just got this game too. My oldest son is 9 and he really really enjoyed it. It took a bit of work to get us both used to the concept but he loved the "work together and beat the game" setup. Wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger than 9 or 10 though.
It's a co-op game so all players are trying to work together to beat the game... unless you are one of those players that like to introduce chaos into the game.
That is one thing I like about this game. You will lose much more than you win. When you are able to beat the game you get a sense of accomplishment. Have you played the other games in the Forbidden series?
@@ZiaComics no! But we really like it!! We woke up this morning to play it again. 😃 Thank you for the clarification that we were playing it correctly 😂
It’s a 2-4 player game though. With more people it’s takes longer to get to your own next turn and the board could change a lot in that given time compared to playing with like 2 people.
And rules. And components. And cities don't disappear in pandemic. And there's no giant board in forbidden island. But other than that... yeah, it's a co-op game. So it has that in common!

Thanks for putting this together for us Danny. Really easy to understand. Game sounds like a lot of fun. Sort of like Pandemic-lite.
Forbidden Island is a blast to play. I guess it is kinda like Pandemic, but has different aspects that make it play differently.
Played this game last night. It was lots of fun! I enjoyed it so much, I ordered my own copy today.
It is a great game. Have you tried the other Forbidden games? Forbidden Desert and Forbidden Sky?

@@dylanjcondron But if all of the flood cards are used, wouldn’t that mean everything is flooded and you lose?
@@sarahrubinstein7478 no, because you would have shored up some tiles and therefore not everything will be flooded.
This was really hard to figure out before watching this. Thanks
Happy this video was able to help you get the game figured out. Now you'll have to try Forbidden Desert and Forbidden Sky!
Great explanation. Thanks so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Can the pilot bring people that is on the same tile with him? And can the diver go from the top right to down left from swimming around
I'm fairly certain that the pilot can only use his ability to fly himself to other tiles. The diver can only swim up, down, left, and right in a straight line.
Thank you this was very helpful! So excited to play
You should try the other games in the "Forbidden" line.
Thank you Danny, very cool. Shoutout to my symposium
Thanks
Great video! Makes more sense now!
Glad the video helped. Forbidden Island is a great game and lots of fun. Have you played the other games in the Forbidden line?
Do you put the sink card under or on the deck after it starts to sink a tile?
When you draw an island card at the end of your turn, you place it in a discard pile. If that piece of the island sinks, remove that tile and the same island card from the game
@@ZiaComics thanks my family is having lots of fun playing this game

Danny answered perfectly.
Wow, watching this video really helped!
Glad to hear it! Have you been able to win the game yet?
cheers buddy, real easy to understand. off to play now:
I hope the video helped you understand the game. It is so much fun to play. Have you played the other games in the Forbidden line?
I ordered this when someone told me the concept of co op board games. This seemed kid friendly
This game may be a bit intense for kids. I suggest a coop game geared directly to kids like My First Castle Panic.

I need a game like that... for 10 players... Any idea?
Captain Sonar is kinda cooperative. You have two teams trying to sink each other’s boat.
thanks Danny
Absolutely, no problem.
So if your playing just 2 player are u a team or who wins?
it's a co-op game ......you are a team
Thank you!
You're always on a team. If you weren't, there would be no hope of survival.

Can this game be played solo ?
Thanks in advance.
You could, but you would need to play as multiple players. So in a sense, sure. But it's better to have other players with you
I think you mean Green Island
Maybe I did, maybe I didn't.
@@ZiaComics its a hxh reference :)
Ohhh, are you sure you don't mean Greed Island?
@@ZiaComics oh my fault.
Yeah Greed
We have played this with 6 players for 4 rounds now, we keep losing cause the water rise cards🥲

You say that someone can do 3 moves but the game rules say you can do UP to three moves (0, 1 or 2)..
You absolutely CAN do 3 moves. Should have been more specific and said UP to 3 moves. Thanks for pointing it out.
this guy is cute
Ahhh, I am blushing
Basically pandemic with different theme
A little like Pandemic, but also very different.
