It's refreshing to see someone with a fullhead of dreads. Not say that hightop is bad. Simply cause i f with the hightop look but i rather keep a fullhead of hair and you inspire me
Im tryna get my hair like you bro, amazing journey and thanks for the motivation, I've been freeforming for just over 2 months but the awkward stage is rough
@@ayomiflower well i kept the freeforms for a while and they looked good, i got a retwist not long ago and was humbled by the shrinkage but overall id definately recommended the journey bc the patience i have developed for myself and my hair is genuinely amazing. Try not to vompare yourself to others tho if u also go on the journey as u can get discouraged easily
im starting mine now i use to have long hair to my neck could of got dreads like i could of trimmed my hair to my eyes nd got it but i had to cut it all down but im starting with plats and its going pretty good
Yo i cut my hair and got it shorter to about a buzz with a good amount of hour still on there and its been about 2 months since. Been using the sponge for a bit and got some sections going, when do you think its a good time to get a retwist? They aren't locked yet but i don't know when its time to twist em up

I feel that honesty having a full head tends to be better in the long run
@toosmoothtay Yeah, exactly you can go long periods of time without needing a haircut. Bank account, loves it lol.
@@jaykey1202imo hightop looks way cleaner and more professional plus if you do it right it’ll look like a fullhead but with more styles

Can u make a video on how to use a sponge properly
Do your dreads shrink less later on if you start them from short hair?
Based on my experience yes
@@toosmoothtay alright thanks boss
what's your hair type? my hair type is 3c and I wanna know if I can use the sponge method like you did to lock them up
My hair is closer to 4c. For 3c hair it will work, but starting with shorter hair will be a lot easier
bro what's your hair type? can you do it with straight hair?
how do u make ur hair stay flat from the roots, cuz when i sponge i kinda get the freeform look
add a little more water and moisturizer then sponge a little more
When you started the dreads journey with the foam did you let water touch you hair when you bath.?
Don't
@@CortneyMungothanks man this what I was looking for
@@ItsKhanelyou should
Do you use any products?
yup I use moisturizers and oils
Do you eventually have to twist your hair with your fingers or just use the sponge the whole time?
You're Motivating me 💯
YESSIIRRR!
best dreads i ever see with sponge methode
Appreciate it bro! 🤝🏼

Yessir I hope you journey goes well 🤞🏽
That’s kinda short for 3 years or was shrinkage involved😊
i have a question tho, i don't want ny locs to be long show how do u keep them short??
I would cut each loc to whatever length you wanna keep them at

Get a retwist around 8 months in
Thx I'm trying to glow up rn and I'm trying to get dreds
Yo would you recommend using a sponge for longer hair?
Yes, but there will be a point where it just doesn't because your hair is too long
@@toosmoothtay
That’s the point im at rn, i just been doing two strands on my hair to see how it would look if i had actual locs
Am at a 2 year dread journey rn
did you get a retwist or did your hair just hang
Good question
When you say you do retwists every 6 months what style or method do you do?
It’s basically a manual retwist ima make a video on how I do it the next time I do a retwist in more detail
@@toosmoothtay thankss

what happens if yo hair get flat
Use a sponge to get it back up, but once you start getting hang time the flatness goes away
@@toosmoothtay thanks
What do you do about bed head?
it'll happed a lot in the early stage but if you just add a little bit of water and moisturizer then sponge it a little it'll do the job
@@toosmoothtay oil or conditioner?
How often did you sponge your hair at the beginning?
At the very beginning probably every day but after a month I did it like once or twice a week
what hair type do u have?
Like 4b/4c
Did you use the spiky part of the sponge or the other part?
I started out with the flat side, but once my hair was locked and longer I used the spiky side
