@@posniknelb6114 I think that's the only criticism anybody can come up for Fernando as a "driver". But he always outperformed his cars, more than probably any other driver.
Its very nice how they talk about Senna as a legend, they obviously feel this way - don't underestimating past heroes. Very beautiful

@GT012345tube Yeah I read in Jenson's book that he didn't like Lewis - which is amazing as it never even seemed like it when they were on TV together, or on Tooned. I was quite surprised when he said that.

interesting to see Alonso impressed, and humbled. When current drivers sit un one of these 1980s monsters with three pedals, unsynchronized gear shifting, no power steering, and no buttons on the wheel, they have a whole other level of respect for the guys who raced them for two hours in tricky circuits, and in exhausting conditions.
Most people dont understand but those cars were completely ruthless. With a manual H pattern 6-speed, 3000 gear shifts in a race, if even one of those gear shifts goes wrong, you could break the clutch and thats the race finished. Just one or two. I just can't imagine it, no wonder there were so many retirements, you had to be skilled, precise and you had to think which gear to use, rev match, when to block shift, etc. while ofcourse following where others are driving. And biggest thing is, no simulator to practise on everyday! Only pure driving skill

Not bad, yet I miss a deeper feedback, in terms of grip at turns, seat position (more vertical than in modern cars?), lever gear change, acceleration...
Two of the best characters in modern F1. It will be sad to see them leave. But new stars and personalities have to be born as well...

Button is such a nice guy. Most team mates don't really get on with each other in F1, but he always seems to build a great rapport with his team mates over the years.

I sold one of these in autotrader last month. They hold their price pretty well. 10/10 would sell again.

Matheus Silva with the exception of a few cars, and the Can Am cars, McLaren does not sell their cars, they are kept in their headquarters. A composite company owns a rolling chassis of Ayrtons, and I believe Honda has a couple during their stint as an engine supplier.
Its really Hard to buy an F1 Car. In most Cases you have to deal with that Cars there are on Market.
But Cars like 1988 McLaren, 1992 Williams... forget it.

More like accessive downforce chassis as things turned out, I don't think it would have taken Senna or Schumacher long to have identified the real problem.
If I could race and or drive any era of F1 car it would be this, much lighter, more lively, shorter wheel base and substantially harder than the dogshit hybrids of today. Although I may opt for the MP4/5 or MP4/6. This waa the end of real race cars before gimmicks like sequential transmissions, push to pass, and driver aids dilluted the raw racing experience. This took real driver skill to bring every last ounce of performance from. The hybrids of today are garbage in comparison.
