Hero is such a tragic little boy, lost both his parents, his brother, and temporarily lost Baymax. You really feel for him.

Edit: to make it even more heart wrenching if you look really close during baymax's goodbye to Hiro you can actually see Tadashi reflected in Hiro's eyes. It was even more heartbreaking because Baymax was the last thing he had to remind him of Tadashi besides his hat.

if Baymax is smart enough to know where everyone is, then what do you think that means when he says "Tadashi is *here"*
he scanned Callaghan and found his location on an island, he found Hero when he was in pain.
(I already know the answer but I just want to hear your thoughts anyway)
When Tadashi says "wait until my brother sees you" it tears my heart out every time. It shows above all else his brother cared more about him then anyone. That he was the first person he thought of.
I think Tadashi sacrificed his life and so that he gave Baymax to Hiro so he can be his father figure for Hiro just like Tadashi was.
I think we could all need Baymax in our lives.

you see hiro has been with tadashi for over 10 years but iron man also has been in the mcu for 10 years but they still imply the movie timelike in endgame where they mention actual year dates like 2012, 2014 etc.

This film came in a very hard time in my life. The year before, my sister died because of cancer and I was very depressed. When this came out, I related to Hiro and it helped me cope with what had happened. The message of "the ones that leave us live in memories" hit so hard, especially when Hiro says "it's not the same" and "it hurts so much". This became one of my favourite Disney films alongside Tangled, Zootopia and Wreck it Ralph.
Plus, Baymax is adorable.
PS: You know how I said one of my friends dubbed Russel in Italian? The same one dubbed Hiro.
Tadashi's death hit me harder than any disney death and we knew him for 10 minutes hsksbsj

Fun Fact: this entire flight scene, from start to finish was heavily based on the one from How To Train Your Dragon, and when you compare them side by side, you start to see what I mean
However, this one didn't end with Hiro scorched with flames from Baymax
Tadashi's death was so painful to me because his running into the building didnt achieve anything. There was no consolation result like, "at least x and x happened" like he died for no reason.
Anyways, I really love Hiro a lot.
Abigail Callaghan would still be lost if Tadashi hadn't died, because Baymax wouldn't have been there to detect her in the portal. But yeah, I get what you mean...
Wasabi's reaction to the falling crate is so relatable to me.

My brother and I love this movie, him more since he loves robots. He didn't get why I was especially sad at Tadashi's death until I explained how real it suddenly was to me that my older brother currently at the university for a STEM major could be in an accident and I wouldn't be able to cope with it. It hit hard but Baymax is so lovable I keep rewatching it.

Everyone always thinks it's Krei because they make you lean towards him, since he had a motivation first. The best part is the shock when you see it was actually Callaghan because it's so out of the blue, and hurts so bad because he's literally the reason Dashi dies in the first place.
Yeah, I thought Krei was behind the mask at first because he wanted to buy the microbots, but Hiro refused. But when it was revealed to be Callaghan, I was like "WTF?! It was him?!" 😨
Biggest crush on Tadashi... soooo cute 😍😍 I felt something deep down when he died.

Fun fact: Tadashi Hamada was friends with Tony Stark, and you can actually see his name hidden in a scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron

That's actually kinda cool. And Big Hero 6 was originally from Marvel, but those comics didn't do as well as the Avengers comics. And I saw the original design of Baymax shortly after watching this movie, and I gotta be honest, the Disney design is a lot better.
Okay, I have a recommendation: Bridge to Terabithia with Josh Hutcherson and Anna Sophia Robb :) it's such a good movie but also so underrated.

This is the pre Marvel movie that Disney made.
I remember watching this in the cinema with my friends when it first came out back in 2014 and i was only 10 years old and we were all crying when Tadashi died LITERALLY WITHIN THE FIRST 24 MINUTES. I decided to rewatch this about a month ago and i still balled my eyes out-
And that scene where Hiro is trying to take the card out and then it shows Tadashi's attempts while creating him, was really a scene coming together. The music score in the background building up to a crescendo, baymax's one liners that had such an impact like "is this what Tadashi would've wanted?", the pain and frustration u can hear in Hiro's voice... It was truly heartbreaking. Glad you enjoyed this movie! Definitely one of disney's bests!!

This movie reminds me a lot of a family situation that happened recently.
My cousin is practically alone, her grandparents and mother died in just 2 months. She can't stand to see this movie because it has strong emotions, but she dreams of reaching someone they would have been proud of.
Have you heard about the theory that Hiro and Tadashi are the same person? The theory says that Tadashi went back in time, so he knew where Hiro was at the beginning of the film and also why Baymax always says "Tadashi is here". This is very crazy!!!

I honestly watched this movie twice in a row when I bought it. Played it again right after it ended.
If you've seen the Marvel movies yet: In the comics, BH6 was supposed to be part of the new Japanese branch office of SHIELD. Tony Stark helped set it up, with a little help from Wolverine's old enemy, the Silver Samurai.(Who was still owned by Fox at the time.)
Instead, they're now the Scooby Gang, with Honey as Velma, and Fred as Shaggy.
Oh you HAVE to watch Zootopia! One of my top 3 favorite animation movies of all time.

For real, Zootopia legit skyrocketed up my list of favorite Disney movies. The world is just so creative and the plot is legitimately entertaining with fantastic voice acting done for the characters. I love the dialogue too, it's very witty and something I feel you appreciate more as an adult.

I think the only way it could get one is if it can get a number 7 for the title and there’s a 7th member.
I always loved that this was Disney's next movie following Frozen. Frozen was about two sisters, whereas Big Hero 6 was about two brothers. I'm so excited for the Disney+ series.
except in Frozen it was an abusive relationship while in Big Hero 6 it was just so perfect

I really enjoy BH6! It’s this kind of film that inspires me to create an engaging animated film of my own. I recently found out that this film was inspired by the Marvel comics and I thought that was very cool. I’ll have to jump back into the BH6 series and catch up on what I’ve missed. Fun reaction and also, subbed!
i watched this movie probably like 50 times and i almost always end uo crying. it came out less than 5 days before my mom died so it always reminds me of her, i watched the movie a frw days after as a distraction, someone recommended me, and i fell in love with it :] ive been watching it yearly on her death anniversary for almost 9 years now, its in a few days :] bh6 means a lot
This is my favorite disney movie of all time. I actually just re-watched it last weekend with my nieces! I saw it in theaters with them when it first came out and I cried three separate times lmao. I cried at Tadashi, then Baymax, then at the very end when he says "Hello Hiro" lol. Such a perfect movie....it's got a great soundtrack, great characters, great action, it portrays loss so realistically and poignantly and still has plenty of humor. I was dealing with a recent loss when I first saw this and oddly it did help some.
I've never watched the show, however. I was hoping for a second movie but I'm not sure how I would feel about a show....I don't want anything to ruin the first movie for me. If anyone that absolutely loves the movie has watched the show and has an opinion, please let me know!
Recommendations for other disney movies.....my other two favorites are The Emperor's New Groove and Wreck-It-Ralph!

Big Hero 6 is an underrated gem that deserves more recognition and love ❤️. Baymax was iconic to me, the action was entertaining to watch, and this film holds a great message about coping with loss and moving forward that helped me during my first year of college in 2020.

You know what would be great for a sequel, baymax comes out of the portal but because his medical care is in the new baymax he only has Hiro's fighting card so Hiro has to destroy him.

If you haven't seen Monsters Inc before you absolutely 100% have to react to it. It's my favorite animated film of all time.
One of the best films Disney has done. Hiro and Baymax's first flight is one of my favorite animtaed sequences of all time. It's just perfection.
12:12 Not sure if this counts as a fault in Callaghan's logic or as a fault with the scriptwriters, but a few fans have commented that as Hiro's supervising professor he could easily have gained access to the microbots without needing to fake his death.
