I need to ask a question about running a fiber optic wire, I have to go from my driveway down the side of the main road, then cross over underneath of the road and down the side of the main road a good bit further, what would be the best way to do this

You can rent a trenching machine but that wont get you under concrete. That will require digging up/cutting concrete. You can also use a horizontal boring machine. Do your research with both types of machines. This is a lot more involved process than most realize. If you are not familiar or licensed to run a horizontal boring machine I would suggest hiring out the work. This is a potentially dangerous project for an average homeowner to take on and is usually done by a highly trained crew. Follow all safety guidelines and state laws when digging.

Why would you not run the drop in a high vis micro conduit? Doesn't appear to be burial line and lacks a traceable line with no way to locate in the future. The info as to the boring process is good, but that fiber drop WILL get hit due to lack of protection and inability to locate.

Our Fiber cables are all inserted into PVC conduit embeded 600mm (2ft) underground! All above ground is trunked. You on the other hand just need an overzealous gardener that digs a hole for a shrub and *BANG* there goes the whole fibre install... that's why ours are protected! _*
